Wolf tooth25's alien application

Recommended Posts

BYOND Key: Wolf tooth25

Character Names: Hunter Wolff

How long have you been playing on Aurora: 3 weeks

Species you are applying to play: Tajara

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race: Because I am very fond of the race and its lore/culture, which I think is pretty well written. My favorite animals are wolves so I would enjoy playing this race. Playing as this race would let me fully enjoy the experience, and it seems like it’d come in to play during some roleplaying situations.

I think this race stands out from all others, which I find pretty neat. Since one of my buddies that I play SS13 with plays scientist often, I can help with his roleplay background, or his work. And a good backstory helps with roleplaying your character.

Identify what makes roleplaying this species different than role-playing a Human: As I mentioned in the last question they stand out among humans, the cultural differences such as what they eat and how they handle situations will impact most of my decisions and how I roleplay said character.

Since I would mostly play as a more peaceful clan I would be able to roleplay a Tajara. That is there are many other races that tend to be more violent, but I see the Tajara are a race that would fit my roleplay style.

Why does this species in particular hold your interest? As said before, I am fond of wolves, being from Canada. It’s changes in speech, and culture seem really interesting, and how they’d change my entire roleplay style.

Character Name: Hunter Wolff

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Hunter Wolff used to be a human who worked hard to get where he is now. He spent years in college and could not decide what to study. Afterwards he took cooking for a short period but was coaxed into becoming a doctor by his parents.Hunter finally decided to pursue his true love, Engineering and worked hard to climb the ranks among his classmates. His friend a young scientist helped him achieve his goal. The young scientist told Hunter of SS13 and said it would be the perfect opportunity to really test his skills. Hunter agreed to his friends proposition and they signed up for a job aboard the space station and miraculously passed their tests. Hunter was told that all positions for engineering were filled and had to settle for a job as an assistant. His friend however got his desired position as a scientist. When Hunter finally arrived on the station he was greeted by a helpful security officer instructed to show us the ropes.Time passes and Hunter and his friend find themselves testing, and being the brave assistant Hunter was he volunteered for one of his friends experiments. Hunter completely trusted his friend and didn’t worry about the side effects of the testing. The test was a catastrophic failure Hunter’s friend opened the test tube and to his surprise when he opened the tube out walked a humanoid wolf otherwise known as a Tajara. Hunter’s friend couldn’t understand what went wrong and had no chance of changing him back since the Tajara anatomy is far too complex for him. Hunters friend asked cautiously “Hunter?” but his response he got back was “What do you mean Hunterrrr?”. Hunter had lost most of his human brain, though some of his memories survived. He only occasionally will remember his friends or career choices but somehow he still remembers all his studying and can work in engineering and has some knowledge in the fields of medicine and cooking.

What do you like about this character?

The fact that he is a young and spirited employee of SS13. And the fact that he may be a Tajara on the outside but has his human side deep inside makes me happy to roleplay him. Roleplaying such an oddity of a character will be fun to roleplay. His odd backstory makes me feel even more attached to this character and makes me completely immersed in my character which will support even more Roleplay.I love his backstory and made it in a way so I would love my character which I do.

How would you rate your role-playing ability?

If it were to be on a scale of 1-10, it could be as good as 8/9, depending on what character I am playing, or what sort of situation the station is in.

Notes:

I am fond of this character, and put a fair amount of work into his backstory. It’d also be pretty fun roleplaying a character like this.

The Horizontal Ruler code doesn't actually work, so you may want to edit them out.

EDIT BY SKULL: Except it does now... Just needs a closing [/hr] tag after the first, opening tag. Example:

1. Tajara are not Humanoid wolves, they are closest to felinoids

2. It is not currently possible to transition species between Human and Tajara.

You however, look like you've put effort into this so I'm not going to -1 it. I simply think you need to read up on the species before applying for it. I'll look out for your characters in-game to see your RP.

The fact that you repeatedly call our station (Aurora) "SS13" in your backstory, as well as

humanoid wolf otherwise known as a Tajara
makes me doubt that you have read Tajaran lore, or any articles pertaining to lore at all. As one of the staff members in charge of applications, I'm gonna have to ask you to come up with a better, reworked backstory before you can hope to be accepted.

Yeah, Tajara aren't humanoid wolves. They're space cats. And it's biologically impossible to transition between one species to another, both in real life and lorewise. Trying to stick a 'fursona' into the role of an alien species and then playing them as basically furry humans probably won't work. -1 until the backstory is reworked to fit with the server lore.
