La Villa Strangiato Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 (edited) Create a "deaf or hard-of-hearing" mode that you can toggle on or off, where sound effects have little runechat indicators pop up in the direction they're coming from. Here's an example: let's say you were in the medical lobby, and the bubbling sound effect for a mixed chemical plays. To the left of your screen, a *bubble* runechat popup would display. Then, all of a sudden, there's a gunfight down the hall! At the side of your screen, you see popups-- *bang!* *bang!* *bang!* I have no idea how hard this would be to implement, which is why it is just a suggestion. But I think this would be useful for deaf or HoH people who play SS13, or even just people who have to play muted. Edited April 5, 2024 by La Villa Strangiato 5 Quote
Carver Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I support this as someone who blasts music while playing and regularly misses explosions as a result. Quote
Lly2 Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 this art is wonderful lvs and this would be cool Quote
OolongCow Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 This probably requires input from coders on how difficult it would be to implement, but it would be nice to have, yes. Quote
Fluffy Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 We'd need to write the text version of about 1533 (at the moment) files, plus the system to handle this It's not worth the effort for such a limited use case Voting for dismissal Quote
