Appealing the decision on a denied ban appeal. https://forums.aurorastation.org/topic/21582-unban-request-filthyfrankster/#comment-179190

- As a correction. This is now specifically a complaint against Cybs for a wrongful ban. Presenting one start of the story in the appeal above as evidence.

Firstly. This should be said that none of this was oocly motivated, nor am I some kind of transphobe that the community might believe me to be from this in character situation.

To the meat of the situation. Cybs said in the appeal that this was a near 1 to 1 replay of the Yekta situation from a year ago. I'll agree, the whole situation back then was fucked up of me and I was at full fault for everything that happened in character and out of character.

To quote Cybs specifically: "You were banned because this situation the way it's been laid out from your actions on the relay to those in the game itself was almost a 1:1 repeat of your targeting of Yekta in the first permaban (And it's because of a connection to Dominia again, go figure) minus the part where you're able to actually completely ruin someone's day yet."

This was in fact not a 1 to 1 replay of the Yekta situation. From an in character point of view. This was Nikki, a proud PRA citizen, the same government that has documented lore of being proud snitches, xenophobes and having re-education camps for what they consider to be mental illness (which things such as homosexuality) fall under. Getting into an argument with someone who hails from a dominan background.

Levi, even if their character was from any other government would get the same kind of push back and governmental gaslighting.  However, it'd be strange of me to simply drop the issue because the character just so happened to be dominan. Nikki reporting them to the consular to cause chaos was an easy way to strike back for being called a 'nobody" by Levi over the relay. Reporting is one of the most standard ways of getting someone in trouble regarding snitch nations like the PRA and domian where being reported tends to cause trouble.

Out of character.

NONE OF THIS was oocly motivated. I had no clue at the time who Levi's player was nor did I even talk to them before or during this incident. It was only after the ban was placed by Cybs that a friend and I inquired with Herbs (Levi's player.)

Herbs spoke of not being the one to make a call for the ban nor did it seem like they had any involvement. This ban was purely at the discretion of Cybs.

Which has me bring up another point. At no time did I ever rile up some hate campaign for Herbs. Even before the ban itself, there was no acts of me attempting to destroy Herbs reputation or even after the ban was placed by Cybs.  I say this because I learned my lesson from last time and kept the ordeal in character.

Isn't that supposed to be a good thing? The situation was kept entirely in character. There was no ooc involvement, no ooc motivation for it. This was two employees with opposite mindsets taking a beef to the next level. Which just so happens they hail from states that encourage snitch culture and using consulars to cause havoc.

Instead I feel Cybs pulled the trigger on a situation that was never going to escalate beyond IC to begin with. Nikki was created to be a PRA jackass that would cause trouble when provoked. He's supposed to be an unlikeable character who hides behind a movie star ego and I was 100% fine with him getting in trouble or even worse, getting fired due to this issue.

It certainly feels as if I couldn't be trusted to keep things in character to begin with seeing from how fast the ban was applied by Cybs. When the whole IC ordeal started, I wanted to prove the fact I was perfectly able to keep things in character. That there was not going to be a repeat of the Yekta situation because I fully understood what was happening and KNEW this was purely an in character relay drama arc.

This ban is a pre-mature one that was placed in case things escalating oocly. Which was not going to happen. There was no questioning from Cybs or even general staff regarding this. Just a simple notification from the discord bot that I was community banned and a server ban upon trying to join to confirm it was a mistake. There was no warning or inquiry, just bans and a denied appeal when I attempted to explain myself.

Evidence/logs/etc:

Linked the original ban appeal which contains the relay chat logs.

Also added a quote from Herbs via another player.

Additional remarks:

Still I would like to keep hammering this in as a general statement to the community. None of this was oocly motivated. I am saying this because I had a close friend of mine state that the ic relay logs put me in a negative light which I've explained on the appeal itself. I don't want people to see the appeal, then the chat logs simply think "Oh, Frank was using this as a way to state his view on trans oocly in an in character manner." The topic was not even brought up in character until Levi brought it up in character.

What is being contested here? You made an appeal which is explicitly only something you're meant to do when you agree with the punishment.

Now you are making a staff complaint over the denial of the appeal, which is not something admissible anyway because our policy (written on the wiki publicly) is that two permabans means you lose all right to appeal forever.

Then consider this a complaint against Cybs for issuing a wrongful ban from the start. Due to the fact this was nothing close to the Yekta situation as they claimed it was. Cybs was being over zealous and saw a situation that was not going to escalate into ooc matters and decided to issue this wrongful ban without just cause or even a complaint from Herbs (The other player). Simply a "Oh one of Franks characters is fighting with a dominan again." And stomped out a non existent issue by banning me for an entirely in character situation.

Making the appeal was a mistake as I wanted to Firstly show Cybs that there was no ooc driven motivation behind it, due to the fact I can't communicate with them over discord due to being blocked. So I wanted to show my proof to cybs and thd community, which also had to be in public. Now since Cybs denied my appeal and from their wording. The whole ordeal had to escalate to a staff complaint.

Hello. Just bumping this due to the nature of the incident and since it has been past 24 hours since a formal response.

All due respect I'm going to get to your complaint whenever I have the material time and energy to spend on it, so you can stop bumping it.

You were banned because this situation the way it's been laid out from your actions on the relay to those in the game itself was almost a 1:1 repeat of your targeting of Yekta in the first permaban (And it's because of a connection to Dominia again, go figure) minus the part where you're able to actually completely ruin someone's day yet.

@WickedCybs need you to elaborate on the similarities you were pointing out in the unban appeal, please.

Alright.

  1. They were playing an alien inordinately fixated on Dominians. They frequently talk about dominians too OOCly, which started up again after I unbanned them. Harder to search in discord now that I removed them, but you probably saw that I believe.
  2. They targeted someone affiliated with Dominia. In Yekta's case, they also had bad interactions regarding Frankster's roboticist maltreating them and not really doing their job. In Levi's case they've had close to zero interactions with Frankster's new character. Levi is however a friend of Yekta and a Dominian.
  3. In both cases Frankster tried to have consulars get Yekta or Levi into trouble. I take a look at Frankster's relay comments and he does a funny name drop too after openly talking about this.
  4. In both cases the player being targeted (Mel/Levi) have been warned by others in-character that this random Tajara is slandering them

When I referenced my/Mel's earlier complaints I was kind of surprised how on the nose it was. Similar relay comments. A lot of the same IC aggression. A random alien with the same fixation. What isn't very present is the OOC aggression beyond metagaming because I stepped in before it could get any worse. If this was anyone else I would give them the benefit of the doubt.

And to be clear, I know Frankster had no OOC conversation with Herbs. When Frankster said "A friend and I inquired with Herbs" what he actually meant was "I sent another player to DM Herbs. Herbs said talk to staff."
