Reason for Appeal:

I'd like to begin with a recap of the actual "charges" and the circumstances that led to the ban in the first place.

1.) Leaking private staff only information to a private discord group
2.) Metacomms with said group
3.) Speaking poorly of staff.

In, 2021 I was an active player who was on the server nearly everyday. Most time of which I spent in Cargo, one of the more "unpopular' departments at that time.
I was putting out multiple race whitelists, Head, whitelists, and eventually, a trial administrator whitelist. By this time I had been involved with the server quite happily for sometime and I thought that working as staff would be perfect given how much time I was spending on the server and how much I was interfacing with the community.

As I said, at that time Cargo was unpopular and it was not uncommon to see the same 4 characters play it every round for a whole day. Eventually, this lead those of us who saw and interacted primarily with each other during the rounds to begin talking outside of the game in a discord group. The group was never formed with the intention of meta-ing during rounds it was just a place for the cargonians to chat.

This is where I fucked up. I met these people shortly before placing in my staff application so when it came through that I was getting a trial period they celebrated with me. So, out of curiosity I started checking the players notes of the people in that group, if anything of interest was there I would screenshot it and put in that group, at the time I didn't understand why this information wasn't public and available to the user so rather than broach this topic with the team and ask permission, mention it in anyway, or otherwise ask for an alternative to be considered, I took it into my own hands to try and "help" this group stay out of trouble. Something which I know understand was a heavy conflict of interest and completely unfitting of a staff member.

However, this transgression is not what the actual *inciting* reason was for the ban, it's just what came up during the investigation.

There was a member of cargo who had a habit of going AFK, almost every round for varying periods of time. Leading to situations where someone would try to talk to them, they would be AFK, and the person would get frustrated and walk off. SO, when a rounds antagonist walked up, started talking to him, and threatening to shoot / kidnap them if they didn't comply, I made the decision to attempt to ping them in the discord group to get their attention. THIS, is the inciting incident that led to the other stuff being uncovered.

It's been quite a while since all of this happened so I do have to apologize if I'm getting some details wrong, and I truthfully do not recall every bad talking staff in said group but I do not deny that it didn't happen at all.



So with the recap done let's reflect.

I shared staff only information with members of a meta-clique.
I metacommed in an attempt to alert another individual of a in-round situation.
I spoke ill of staff.

I can confidently say that at this point I understand the reason for the permanent ban. At the time I would have told you it was unfair and that I should have failed my trial and given a lighter sentence but it is now clear the me that due to the severity of my infractions a permanent ban was necessary. Now THIS, is the part where I mention Alberyk.

He is originally who approved my trial and I had also been going back and forth with him on the forums for the Tajara whitelist(I think?) so it is my belief that the situation was a bit personal to him. As I said I whole heartedly agree with the original sentencing but what I DO contest is that I would like to have been given a chance to appeal at some point. I **HAD** made other attempts and I'm sure those are archived somewhere but on one of those he said something to the effect of "You will never be unbanned, you are not welcome in this community." or something similar to that. It is my opinion that he believed I had applied to staff with the intention of harming the server and acting in the manor I did which is untrue. I did not intentionally seek a staff position to undermine it or share things with different people or in anyway use my position of power against the server or to help a minority, or for personal gain.

I sincerely apologize for what I did, when my trial was approved I should have distanced myself from that clique, I should have taken it more seriously, I should not have shared player notes with the players themselves, I should not have metacommed, I should have done a lot of things differently.

Again, it has been a long time since the situation happened so some details are fuzzy at this point, (my brain is also made of swiss cheese), so I apologize for any errors in how others remember it or how it was documented. I did not have any infractions on the server prior to the above incidents and I have no intention of seeking a staff position again.

My hope is that you will hear out all of this and allow me the opportunity to play on the server again, even if under heavy conditions like being on "my last strike" or as a human only or something. (Though I would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to re-whitelist for those at some point, assuming of course I am even given the opportunity.

Again, I apologize for what I did, I apologize for the all over the place thoughts, I tried to organize it as best I could, and without using AI or anything so that it is genuine and I didn't take the easy way out. and I apologize for reaching out in the way that I did to Mel in order to be given this opportunity which I am very grateful for.

Hello, apologies for the delay on this.

@MattAtlas and I have spoken about this to some length, and we have agreed that you can be unbanned but you can never, ever be a staff member again due to how you were permabanned.

Do you agree to this?
