pvths Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago BYOND Key: Fabul0usxx Staff BYOND Key: mattlatlas Game ID: N/A Reason for complaint: Following a confrontation between myself and another player (Goolies, unkw BYOND key) I was immediately perma-banned from the discord by Matt, and the other player was only given a strike. The full conversation can be seen in the images below, but it proceeded from me giving some information in relation to an ongoing conversation about mental health medicine, and Goolies (someone I have spoken to infrequently in the discord, and literally never in dms) proceeded to call me a "fatty." In response, I said "kill yourself," and was promptly permad from the discord. Quite frankly, I see this as a complete misstep. I was upset, and I was defending myself from someone I saw as attacking me for no reason. I was offended and lost my composure, and perhaps I should not have said it, but immediately issuing me a perma (when I have never been told off for my behavior in the discord before) instead of a warning or shorter ban is an overstep, in my opinion. What he said made me angry, and if I need to apologize to the individual in question I will, but I think that reducing the ban or handing us both a strike would be a better choice. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: none 1
goolie Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I just want to say I didn’t know what SSRIs were at the time, and if I did, I would've understood the joke was in poor taste. I honestly thought it was some kind of gym equipment and related to muscles! In the past too, you’ve told me I need to be killed, that I’m ugly, I’m stupid, and a fat British lad in general chat. I always took that as banter and ribbing, so when I made the joke I figured it would land the same way. Looking back, if I’d actually known what SSRIs were, I never would have said it. Still, no matter the context, telling someone to kill themselves is infinitely worse and it’s never acceptable.
