Possibly with a need for the occasional antitoxin injection, if the limb came from someone with a different blood type, to prevent rejection. Link to comment

Now I get to say corpse mining even more frequently in-character! Corpse mining. Corpse mining. EDIT: Oh, and it'd be useful for re-attaching severed limbs, or for attaching cloned limbs, presumably from a protohuman or whatever. Link to comment
