ForgottenTraveller Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 These are incredibly OP. Most will punch a hole through the hole into space. Seal the room. Vent it. Incapacitate anyone near by and take out any means of outside communication, and as the cameras can also seemingly magically rewire themselves without any delay when cut, unstoppable to boot and built with a primary component of C4. My suggestions are simple: Lower the force so there are no hull breaches with these explosions. Give camera's a delay on rewiring with a signal to others that the camera is working again. Like the one that is given to everyone in sight when they deactivate it Occasionally give a signal that it is going to blow up with a small delay so people can escape. And why? Because when has a software virus blown a hole clean through your house?
Skull132 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I'll see into dispatching a coder onto the suggestions above, assessing what we have and what we can do. Moewy's being assigned to this, project placed under development and investigation.
Skull132 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 As per Meowy's report: The explosiveness of machinery has been reduced to prefer range over strength. Imagine shrapnel and loads of hot wire pieces or something flying a short distance, as opposed to a massive capacitor overload breaking an otherwise sturdy station superstructure. Also, added a flash effect to the explosion to disorientate. The cameras were modified to generate a sound as well as provide a message to all players within observation range. I am tempted to cut the message, and leave just the sound (it's the same sound as a camera's main power wire getting sliced and the camera turning offline), to not make it as clear (the camera will not be every character's focus of attention, so it snipping back on should not inform everyone outright. You can miss a sound, you can't miss blue text).

I had it in my head that someone had just cut the wire to do something and was constantly checking everything in the room with fear. But the text may be to much in many cases.
Guest Menown Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Before I made the change, there was already a message for when the camera came back online. "You hear a quiet click."
Skull132 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Before I made the change, there was already a message for when the camera came back online. "You hear a quiet click." I noticed that as well as I was parsing the code. I'll play with it, see how either goes.
Guest Menown Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I believe this was completed. Locking.
