Ryfer Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 BYOND key: Ryfer Character names: Acel Delrico, Mark Alexander, Lane Davis. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: I think about a month. Terrible with time. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I would like for there to be more heads available, whenever I'm around at least. This is mainly for Chief Engineer due to not always having access to atmospherics if an area needs pressurized, or for simply getting easier access to secure storage just to get the engine running a bit faster. Or acting Captain duties, if needed. There's also been a situation in which we've needed to order a singularity generator, but the clearance level for it was CE. Might come to have other head characters in the future for similar reasons if I start really using other departments. Why did you come to Aurora?: The old server I used to play on hardly had any decent roleplay, and if there was an antag it was severely rare for them to say a single word before sleepy penning and murdering you in a hallway. It started off alright, but I eventually got tired of it; so I found Aurora. It's been so much better. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes, thoroughly. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: As the answer will normally be, it is simply playing a role. It is making said role believable and immersing not only yourself, but helping other people do so as well. Usually when staying serious(I'm guilty of being silly sometimes), you should really never break character or bring OOC emotions into play while in character, which is something people do quite often, almost subconsciously. It takes an effort to keep a character completely seperate from yourself. Such as, playing optimistic characters when I'm a huge pessimist. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A bit of an OOC reason would be teaching other people in game how to preform properly in your department, which really can't fully be done ICly. I've met many people who don't full understand how to set up an engine, and I can't very well yell through a window for them to click the god damn field generators to actually turn them on. It's also to generally administrate over the department and make sure everything is running properly. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I think that we would be held to a high standard of rp during rev rounds for one, and I wouldn't mind putting fourth more effort for it. It would also be expected to teach other players if need be, which would be something I don't mind doing in the slightest. It's also of course to have more responsibility in the department, periodically update things to other heads, and make sure things are as they should be. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Acel Delrico. Character age: Thirty one. Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Acel had a very mundane upbringing on a residential french station where his father, Antoine worked as an engineer to maintain and add onto the station as needs to do so arised. He was born in November 2425, his mother Louise leaving right after his birth. Throughout his young life on the station he worked with his father; learning things through constant hands-on experience beside his father. If he wasn't in classes for a general education he would be working and tinkering with minor repairs and machinery; taking a liking to it. As he aged, he learned of more complicated and potentially dangerous machinery as well as spent time preforming small extra vehicular activities. By the time he went to Lalauren collge of Engineering and trades, he had amounted a thousand collective hours of EVA closely supervised by his father and made a fairly decent engineer for moderate construction and repairs; causing him to pass wonderfully through classes. He learned much more about engines and spent a large portion of his life in the college before eventually returning to his home station with an exceptional education. Soon after his return, his father passed in an unfortunate accident of getting a bit of loose clothing caught in heavy machinery; pulling him into the whirring mechanisms inside and crushing him. In a desperate attempt to pull his father back out, Acel`s hand was severed in the machinery. After his father's funeral and saving up enough money for a mechanical right hand replacement, Acel went in search for a better workplace to eventually be accepted into the Engineering department on the Aurora. What do you like about this character?: It's really fun to play a nice character. Acel is devoted to being kind to everyone he meets unless they give a large reason for him to not do so. He's very willing to help people if they ask for it as well; or talk to them if it's needed. What do you dislike about this character?: Acel can be distracted easily from things, and has looked over some things that needed to be done in his own department to help other people out. He can also let his emotions get in the way of things, to the point where it effects his work at times. Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff? (Please note that Head characters must be over 30, unless given special clearance): Yep. Why?: Acel simply isn't a dick, which is a trait in several heads that really isn't required. He wouldn't be too strict with everyone, and knows what to do in emergency situations. So far he isn't exactly bossy because he knows his place as a simple Engineer and that he doesn't command the others just yet; but when people are being idiots in emergency situations he sometimes gets a bit loud and bossy, just to get the Engineering department on what it's supposed to actually be doing. Fixin` shit. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I don't really like this question. I feel kind of like an ass answering this and would much rather have someone rate for me. I know that I can rp, and if I had to put a number on it I'd say seven, and eight on a good day. Extra notes: Baguettes
nbielinski Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 +1 a fairly good roleplayer with a passion for in character playing, he knows his way around engineering and has managed to show proficiency in most cases where such knowledge is required. All in all a fair individual when it comes to the thought of being a head
duck Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I feel like Ryfer is generally a responsible player and can be trusted with head responsibilities, and further feel like Acel is almost-head-material. But I have some concerns regarding Acel as a character and his viability as a staff candidate. Most heads-of-staff take showers, and if Acel starts taking one like, daily, then I'd throw my support in. I'd even settle for once every two days. come on acel.

Does the cologne not work to cover it up? God dammit. Fine. Daily showers. Duck give me my hug already.
Crezilin Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 +1 His RP is ok, would bang after the fang-boner incident. On a more serious and realistic note, he knows what he's doing and RPs well from my experiences with him, which have been a few months. I also don't remember him ever griefing or doing anything drastic that would generally be considered stupid.
RunningWithScissors Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 +1 , can RP really well, and knows Engineering intimately. Would be CE material if he could stop crying and smelling like butts for like ten seconds.
Kerbal22 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 +1 Ryfie's a good RPer and knows his shit, and he's always friendly.
echotango23 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 +1 An excellent role player whom I'm surprised to learn doesn't have a whitelist already, nothing turrible to speak of to this date.
