Guest
So, what is the hierarchy of the command staff of Central Command? Do they have Heads of Staff? Are regional directors in charge? Is it a military-esque run station with Commander of the ERT running things? And how do Duty Officers fit into the chain of command there? What exactly makes Duty Officers qualified to just fire people without consulting someone higher up than them? Link to comment
Owen
I feel like the issue is no one knows either. Link to comment

TishinaStalker
Is it a military-esque run station with Commander of the ERT running things? Hrm, if I remember correctly, the Odin is more of a civilian hub (identified by having a restaurant, a bar, and a night club on the first floor) from which NT also has the ability to command nearby stations. Unless this has changed recently, then yeah, that's what it is. The ERT Commander only runs the ERT, Odin Security, and I guess most surely the armament side of supplies (such as what Odin sec/ERTs are being armed with). Could also be seen as one of their form of head of staff maybe? And how do Duty Officers fit into the chain of command there? What exactly makes Duty Officers qualified to just fire people without consulting someone higher up than them? OOC'ly the DOs are headed by Gollee; which is who the DOs answer to both OOC'ly (head DO) and IC'ly (CCIADS, I forgot the meaning, ask Gollee) when punishments are to be dealt. Ultimately, Gollee/Felix Walters (iirc his character's name) is who the Duty Officers answer to. Iirc, his IC abbreviation is Central Command Internal Affairs something something. So I guess you could see that as both a head of staff on the Odin and who the DOs answer to. That's about all I can personally answer. Link to comment
Xelnagahunter
All DOs are CCIA, Central Command Internal Affairs. I would assume that the Odin itself has a typical IAA and heads of staff as normal, but DOs and other CC staff are an interior branch that controls both the Odin and all stations attached to the Odin as their CC. At least that's how I imagine it. DOs can fire people simply because they are highly trained and probably hand selected from IAAs and heads of staff from various stations. They are strictly controlled regulated by the corporation to ensure that issues regarding their decisions won't cause widespread repercussions. Simple as that. Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
The Odin is a central corporate HQ for the entire star system of Tau Ceti. It doesn't have the extremely specific porpoise of the Aurora - being a research station. Instead it houses its own small RnD facility, civilian entertainment centers, residential space-apartments, and presumably all the departments you would need to run a space station + extra. Administration for it is a bit confusing, so I'll just give the basics and we can gloss over the little itty bit of an entire corporate bureaucracy. Administration - these guys command business in Tau Ceti in general. Board of Directors - THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY Duty Officers - Run the general business of Tau Ceti. These are "Corporate". ERT Commander - Runs the ERT based from the Odin. Chief Financial Officer - Cries every time she looks at the losses the Aurora incurred every quarter. Human Worker Resources Representative - Insists all sentients are equal in Nanotrasen while literally using a Tajaran as a step-stool. Command Staff - this is standard on all NT stations, and they handle the station itself. Captain - oversees the Odin's operations in general. Secretly tries to find the self-destruct button for the Aurora transfer shuttle. Head of Security - oversees the Odin Police Department. Biesel has allowed NT concessions in policing its own affairs. Mostly they arrest Aurora staff who keep hopping the checkpoint desk. Chief Engineer - repairs what the Aurora workers break every time they dock. Chief Medical Officer - Runs the medical department and stares in horror at all the decapitated husks the Aurora keeps bringing him. Research Director - Tries to figure out what the Aurora scientists dragged out from the depths of hell this time and why it keeps screaming. Theoretically a DO could order the Odin around but it would be really bizarre and not really their lane. Like the Store Director for an entire Wal-Mart doesn't walk up to the cashiers and directly tell the front-end managers (or cashiers themselves) how to be doing things, or to do specific things.
