Why do you wish to play this specific race:

We desperately need more Skrell on the station, and I'm interested in playing a twin-hatchling dynamic with sighed player.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

Skrell are very intellect-centric beings, that are less likely to act on impulse; usually applying logic and intuition to their decisions and mannerisms. Skrell as a majority are prejudiced against the belligerent unathi, and the rogue advances of artificial intelligence.

Character Name: Aelios Tup'Aronas

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Aelios was vat-incubated alongside another Skrell larva, Gaal in the underwater facility of Keeros'tu'kal, most commonly used to breed Tup marines, however was often used by the Skrellian private sector for the growing of genetically-altered larvae, similar to the concept of artificial fertilization in humans, only with artificial surrogacy.

Following adolescence, both hatchlings remained in each other's company for most of their lives up until this point, maturing, attending the Jargon Academy for Applied Sciences briefly, with Aelios attaining a dual degree in Criminology and Human Psychology.

After graduating, both of the podsiblings proceeded to enroll in the Jargon Federation Navy, remaining deployed primarily as security assessment and policy enforcement aboard vessels in the Jargon homesystem.

Due to financial issues resulting in poor pay between the two of them, as well as growing concern for a Skrellian-Moghean war, they decided to leave the Navy in 2438 - just before the Moghean Contact War.

Immediately after leaving, they moved together, as they had their entire lives, and took up residence in Mendell City, making use of Jargon military scholarships for further education advances, with Aelios taking an interest in human technologies, attaining a minor degree in theoretical weapon designs over the course of eight years, and enrolling in Nanotrasen at his sibling's suggestion. The two were deployed throughout frontier mining colonies and other fringe facilities which Nanotrasen had investments in - occasionally being on separate deployments for several months at a time, until modern day rolled into place.

What do you like about this character?

The concept of an intellectual minded species interests me, as well as the chance to roleplay a sibling to another character. (I already do this as Leo Wyatt with Roy Wyatt, and it leads to some very interesting experiences and funny moments.)

How would you rate your role-playing ability? As I've said in my other applications for species whitelists, I really don't believe it's my place to judge how well I fit in roles, so I'll leave this open to community interpretation.

He's never been one to break character (and even if he did, it was part of a silly, subtle joke nobody else would've noticed), his level of determination and willingness to do right by other people is inspiring.

I have had alot of interactions with Servis and I LOVE his characters, despite how emotionless my only current character is (Roots) They always enjoyed working with Aiden, Praetorian and afew of the others have left a mark and helped me improve Roots so this has my support!

So, this is going to be our first (and second) official Skrell commandos (well, ex-commandos?) I hope you realize how much of a snowflake that makes you.

But, well, the other dynamics also look good, and I can tell you and Keinto should be capable of doing something interesting with the backstories you're proposing, rather than being super badass Skrell killers with no substance (though... thinking about it, that already sounds leagues better than super badass human killers with no substance). Anyway, I'm not saying this as a "despite" the commando stuff, but as a "with" the commando stuff. You guys better be prepared to give us a great show of what you envision Skrell ex-military to be like.

Also, I'm not sure if you pulled the details of your bio from the canon (if so you'll have to tell me where it is, I haven't really had time to look at all the Skrell fluff yet), but if it's not yet, I'd have no objection with canonizing it if your application is accepted.

Anyway, just wanted to say that. I can't accept or decline yet because of the three-day period, but these are my thoughts on this rather peculiar situation.

I was informed that there's no mandatory waiting period for species apps. For now, feel free to add anything you'd like, and if you're okay with this, I'll process this in a little bit.
