ozemandea Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 BYOND Key: ozemandea Character Names: Markus Vane [more to come with the aliens] How long have you been playing on Aurora: About three years now Species you are applying to play: Tajaran, Aviskree, Unathi, Vox if available ect. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Many times. Its quite good. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I got used to changing my roleplay options by selecting other races a while back that now without them I feel kind of restricted. Even though I mainly played human the options are nice Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Its an alien. Its a great challenge to try and play as another species and try and act ... well ... alien to how a human would act. You do not belive the same things nor use the same social protocols. Its great fun. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? Unathi mainly. Just love those hissing bastards. Character Name: Ronus Whitetail [unathi] Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs: Ronus Whitetails records are complete a complete blank until he arrived to work in the engineering department of the NSS GranderFall. He demonstrated remarkable mechanical skills and was hired on the spot through the NanoTrasen outreach program. He was assigned to the NSS Aurora by request of NanoTrason human xeno relations. To 'relive tensions between the company and the public over species issues by instituting a well knowledgeable Unathi into a forward research facility. If anyone asks say he is the CE. The public will eat this shit up.' What do you like about this character? A silent type, he prefers to work by himself but enjoys the company of close friends. He views species boundary's as merely a word in his own nativity. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Slightly above average. Notes: When the bloody hell are you going to bring the T.U.R.D.S. back mates?
Dea Tacita Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Typically, people apply to a single race at a time...
ozemandea Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 Well I can just copy paste the same thing for all the other races. With different names and backgrounds. But I would prefer to do that in game with save slots so all my hard work is not lost just to prove myself.
Susan Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 ...We don't have... Avikskree. Further: As current Tajaran lore handler I am of the opinion that you have not demonstrated to me any knowledge whatsoever about the Tajaran species and I am extremely hesitant to support this application as a result; moreover, the recent behavior I've seen from you in OOC makes me question if I actually want to, and so this is where I stand. I do not want someone who cannot take the time to legitimately apply to have whitelist to Tajaran. Banking on what you've put here isn't enough for me.
Frances Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 If you looked at other people's applications, you'd have noticed that they have at least put a modicum of effort into writing up a believable story for their character, which makes an attempt to (usually) integrate the species' lore. Given that you are not sure whether we even offer some of the races you're applying for in this thread, and are trying to apply for a race which does not even exist on our server, I highly doubt that you are informed on the current state of affairs of each species' lore as they are in our universe. Not only is this catch-all application utterly lazy, but you have not made any effort to type up even sensible answers to any of the questions asked - "you have to act differently" is not an answer to "what makes a species different from playing a human". You're gonna have to apply race by race, and you're gonna have to show that you take this more seriously than you currently do if you actually hope to be accepted. I'd suggest sticking to a single race for now, and actually thinking of fleshed-out answers you can give in your applications rather than generalities, as well as a backstory that makes more sense than "he arrived, he did the work, we hired them". Locking this because I can't see what kind of logical retort could be typed up to it. If you have any issues understanding what the problem is here, send me a PM and we can talk it out there.
