Why do you wish to play this specific race:

I want to play as this specific race because I find the lore very interesting as well as the role play capabilities of the Dionaea . Due to the fact that in their mechanics they feed off light, Are unaffected by atmosphere, and are completely immune to pressure or temperature you could do alot of things with the Dionaea , for example you could become an engineer and fix hull breaches or delve into the dangerous depths of space looking for new things to find. The possibilities are endless. One of the main reasons I want to place as Dionaea is because I love their lore. The lore is just so interesting it makes me wonder what other things may be added, Aswell as if they will discover new Satellite forms, And the three times they were considered to have been discovered, All three of those times something else happened, They also have a unique relationship with the skrell, Which could add a lot to the RP between a Skrell and a Dionaean.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

I'll first start off with the mechanics of the Dionae, They have there own custom language like all the other races (Besides Human) this can make roleplaying with another Diona very interesting, They have a weakness to fire, So they would avoid fire, This can make disabling/destroying a Diona very simple (That and Plant B Gone, Cruel thing) They feed off of light so if they just carry a flashlight around they won't have a problem with food, They are completely unaffected by atmosphere and immune to pressure and temperature, You could roleplay this as a Engineer and fix hull breaches, Or go out into the mining outpost with no hardsuit only your pickaxe, they would have no problem going into a room filled with toxic chemicals in the air as they are unaffected by atmosphere, So that would make rescuing the other crew easy, They heal brute damage when exposed to radiation, This is an interesting mechanic due to the fact that if somehow they ever get in a conflict or confrontation were they take damage they can just go get some radiation and heal back up, Which makes it a must have to carry on your person, They walk/run slowly, So you wouldn't be able to RP effectively as something that requires fast movement, Security Officer,Emergency Response Team, Medical Doctor, You could however rp as a job that doesn't require alot of movement IAA,Chef,Botanist,Chef,Bartender. And finally they can absorb nymphs through the context menu, This seems like an interesting concept to me, Could they grow their size if enough nymphs were absorbed advancing their forms, The possibilities with this will be interesting to hopefully find out.

Character Name:The Night That Shatters The Day

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

When The Night That Shatters The Day was a nymph, The Night That Shatters Day lived on a Skrell Science Station, Learning the workings of Skrell culture from the other Diona on the ship, The Night That Shatters The Day frequently visited the morgue, Nobody knew what The Night That Shatters The Day was doing, Every time a test subject gave up on life or one of the scientists had a horrible incident he was always there. Walking to the morgue slowly creaking and whistling as though wind was passing through, More and more The Night That Shatters The Day learned about skrell culture, history, understood its language but could never match its pitch or tone, The Night That Shatters The Day was learning very quickly about the Skrell, They found it alarming, So one day they followed The Night That Shatters The Day into the morgue, They watched as The Night That Shatters Day consumed the dead of the fallen crew and and test subjects in the morgue. Some of the Skrell wanted The Night That Shatters Day burned,Killed Others wanted to study him, The Captain of the Science Ship had made the decision to send The Night That Shatters Earth, Over to Central Command, He was put on a shuttle and launched.

Upon arriving at Central Command, The Night That Shatters Day was quickly surrounded by scientists,researchers, all wondering all speaking in a new language to The Night That Shatters Day, The humans brought The Night That Shatters Day back to the lab were they placed a dead body on the table, And watched as The Night That Shatters Day quickly consumed it, The Night That Shatters Day was now able to understand and speak, Ceti Basic And Sol Common, They found it interesting how fast The Night That Shatters The Day learned this, They had made a decision to send the Diona to one of their functioning stations. They sent The Night That Shatters Day, To NSS Aurora, Were it had a solid population of Diona, So that they could watch, Day in and day out, As the Night That Shatters Day creaked and whistled.

What do you like about this character? The Night That Shatters The Day, is a very reclusive, reserved, distant,Shy, Yet once you make his friendship he is very outgoing friendly happy,

Alright, to start off, Humans do have their own language. You have to use :1 and it is called Sol Common.

Moving on to the application. You seem to have sufficient knowledge of Dionae lore and how they work, I have seen your synthetic "WHITEMANE" and I think they are an alright character. I think you will do fine with a whitelist, +1 from me. Good luck

First Answer: Night was on a military ship because the Skrell had recently acquired him, and were going to transport him to a Skrell Command Ship to be experimented and investigated, The use they had for Night on the military station was to clean.

Second Answer: Locked in a dark room with constant beating, Or have a torch just go on and off in front of the Dionae getting closer and closer.

Edit: I updated the backstory so that it removed key elements that I found didn't go with a Diona.

So, I'll give this a resounding +1 due to the roleplay I've had today with LordRaven001's Arthur Whitemane. Both ICly and OOCly it was a pleasure to play with LordRaven, and to be completely honest, he sincerely struck me as a diona type of guy. The kindness scales were off the charts, and I think he would be a great addition.

But, there are some issues with the back story that should probably be fixed. Like Skrell executing prisoners of war, or a diona which cannot feel pain being tortured. Though your answer to the torture part makes me wonder...

Anyways, I think the whole muching bodies thing could use tweaking, as well as being sent to Aurora as a result, since it's well known and documented that Diona like to suck up that sweet sweet knowledge. But otherwise, that's between you and lore devs.
