Long Description:

So really, this is just a Excuse for the Syions to be Rich, many other stations use this AI just like the NSS Aurora. It has no infulence over Tai Ceti or NT. Just a normal AI building company.

So, this will be the Story of Syion Incorperated and how it came to be.

Syion Incorperated is a AI building Company, based on High-Quality AI's and the dream of being one of the best in the Galaxy.

Two brothers: Richard Syion, Mark Syion. Built the company up to what it is today. Mark handling the Buisness side of things, and Richard handling the AI production and teaching new workers.

After making there First AI: S.Y.I.O.N. 1.0. Many were Impressed by the design and Capabilities of it, many bought the S.Y.I.O.N. Units. After one year the Company was being looked into being Bought by NT, They settled onto a Agreement that the S.Y.I.O.N. Units were to be used on NT Ships and a small amount of money was to be given to the Company.

After Richard getting fired he resigned from his Co-Founder Status in the Company, not to hurt the reputation they built up after one and a half years. Mark convinced his Cousin: Tyrone Syion. To take over the Company as CEO, Mark also went into retirement after this, now doing some work on the NSS Aurora NT interests into the Company are still High.

After Tyrone was appointed CEO of Syion Incorperated. He started a project on a new AI: S.Y.I.O.N.D.P. This project would push the boundries of AI technology to date.

A new Contract was signed with NT, Syion Incorperated would have to pay NT a small amount of money to keep up the Maintence of there AI's. (( This has no IC benifets, NT will not EVER swing to the side of the Syion's only because there are buissness partners...))

At 1:22 New Years Day 2458. The new S.Y.I.O.N.D.P was born. Pushing limits never seen before, these new models would shape the Galaxy as we know it. Syion Industries Stocks Sky Rocketed. Everyone wanted a piece of this new machinery. Syion Industries now have a Reputation.

Since these AI units are on High-Demand, But are High-Quality. Most orders could take up to years. Syion Industries have invested into Building a Factory on Biesel. Capable of building High-Quality AI units in a matter of months.

This is where the story ends. Want to leave some Feedback? Please do. I would love some new ideas to come to this.

As i said above. These do not benifet my IC characters at all. Only that they got rich off it, which is not a bad thing to have.

If your characters have their own company and are rich for it, why would they even be working for NT? Why would NT even hire someone who owns a rival company?

On the occasion that it's come up ICly, he's stated that he works pretty much as a hobby.

People tend to not like him very much when it comes up.

Think of it this way:

I'm working this job because I need the money to survive, maybe I have kids I have to feed and I'm behind on bills.

This guy comes on station and tells me how he owns this company, has all this money, and he's only working here as a 'hobby' when maybe someone else needed the job he took.

Really? Because he is rich? Ah....

Ok, so let's talk about Mark Syion a little. When Mark Syion first showed up in the security department, he had records riddled with redactions and security clearances that don't exist in-setting, bragged a lot about them, and refused to wear the security uniform until repeatedly badgered. (Note: The security uniform is actually lightly armored, so there is a practical reason this is enforced.) So, your first impression, although it has since been amended, was really really negative.

After these things were corrected, he still talked about Syion Incorporated, how he was rich and just doing this as a hobby, etc. On top of that, he's not really viewed as a competent officer, or wasn't last time I was playing regularly. Bear in mind that Aurora's security regulars are heavily composed of people with relatively poor employment opportunities with a fairly large population of Unathi, Tajaran, and IPCs.

People hate Mark Syion because he didn't fall into line with basic regs during his introductory phase, is below the competence level they expect out of a security officer (at least among security regulars), doesn't need to be doing this job to begin with (or so he claims), and generally has presented himself as special / superior to his peers with the rich angle being only one part of it. It's not just because he's rich.

I'd note that Varan Truesight also owns a decent mining business, and is working primarily to have something to do, and to keep an eye on his daughter and nieces because he's a paranoid fuck. He's also an ex-military ship captain who is extremely qualified and experienced at making things run smoothly, he isn't at a sub-par performance, if that matters.

So on the matter of characters owning companies, I am guilty there too. Punish him, punish me.

...However, AI technology is not small scale. Not by a longshot, especially:

At 1:22 New Years Day 2458. The new S.Y.I.O.N.D.P was born. Pushing limits never seen before, these new models would shape the Galaxy as we know it. Syion Industries Stocks Sky Rocketed. Everyone wanted a piece of this new machinery. Syion Industries now have a Reputation.

This alarms me. Small companies do NOT have this sort of swing; especially with the super-experimental and advanced AI technology. That shit is billion credit tier.

Last note: For the love of god, the only things that get capitalised are names, and the start of sentences; not station, or building, or mind, or rich, or anything like that.

D:.

I mean... I suppose they could be sold of alot. But there are so few. It would be impossible

Edit: There is only currently one in the whole galaxy, it belongs to NT. The company gave it to them as a good will, and a test drive. The next one wont be built untill the factory is done in 2462

What are the carrots and sticks that NT can use to motivate the Syions to do a good job? I mean, money is meaningless to them - they already have so much of it - so they can't reward the Syions by offering more, and they can't punish them by offering less. So how does NT get a handle on them?

Surely, you must concede that an employee who can afford to simply walk away at any time with no consequence to themselves is not a reliable employee.

It this turning into a Mark Syion Hate thing? I hope not..

This is about his company and his brothers company to become a thing. Not a "Hate the Syions" Thing

Would this happen to be Richard, the guy who got fired by NanoTrasen for constantly toeing the line of human decency and civility? That being an understatement, of course.

I think it is, given that Mark's records mentioned Mark's relation to his brother Richard. And regardless if you want my opinion or not, the truth of it is that Mark is Richard Syion 2.0. They're both seemingly ripped out of anime with an edgy protagonist lead with issues with overall personal competency, a lack of self-control and an overwhelming desire to throw themselves into the spotlight, regardless if there is a bus oncoming into the lane. Also, did I miss the part where Mark's background is Navy SEAL copypasta?

I think I can speak for a solid major of the community when I say that nobody has any interest coming onto the server to roleplay and try to have fun if it means they have to deal with a series of manchild edgelords that seem to be cloned one after the other in an effort to circumvent DO action.

And then there's this beautiful application that seeks to enable inherently bad and awfully written characters into the general lore.

I mean, really, you can find that all of us here can be really reasonable at times and at the very least, tolerate some of the stuff that goes on either in-game or for the state of the lore, much less even care. If you present a reasonable case suggesting what the server/lore-climate has to gain, then go nuts with your Unathi Death Star, really.

But when it's like this... Well, my vote, really is, "No, not ever, for the love of God."

Bwhaha, Where the fuck did you hear that? That is some KeK right there. And please, do try and see them first before you go on a hate spree. Cheers

I haven't seen much to like about [Richard] Syion that would make me think he should ever be a head. He's your typical guy that sits back, makes inappropriate jokes over radio and generally trying to be funny rather than playing a proper character. When someone makes fun of a dying co-worker over the radio, just to be an asshole, it makes me pretty wary of the character. Just generally not the kind of person who would be employed for long, let alone promoted, and unfortunately I can't remember seeing any of your other characters. So my only experience has been with Richard, and I can't remember much positive with him.

HMMM WHO DOES THIS SOUND LIKE

Well, today, one Syion willingly (it seems, I wasn't there in person) got his genetic code changed into that of monkey's, went on a rampage with monkey-weapons, and got marked as 'deceased'. Why would NanoTrasen sign contracts with a corporation whose owners don't even want to live like normal people/turn themselves into monkeys/are constantly getting fired.

What the hell are you on about... That was An-Tag action you dope XD.

A syion signed a form about being turned into a Monkey for science (With a 1000£ contract to it) after being turned into a monkey, he went on a rampage. So ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAY NOW?

Assuming you were an antagonist. Being a round antagonist does not permit your character to do whatever the fuck he wants, completely changing his backstory, behaviors, ways how he acts (or I just wish that's how it worked). It just gives your characters more opportunities. Was any thought even put into this? I can think of many ways how a "self respecting man of business could do some covert antagonistic actions on board a rival, or not, station" (like, causing chaos and trying to defect from "chaos-ridden company, that is NT" to another good company), becoming a monkey isn't one of these.

Assuming the geneticist was an antagonist, but Syion wasn't. Like, what the fuck.
