Kane Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Jumping on grenades, whether just by resting on it, or as it's own special verb, to shield those around yourself from the blast, though this could be ineffective when used against grenades with a smoke-based load. Maybe RNG could determine the effectiveness of the coverage? At this point, it's just a vague concept, and input from others would be nice.
enkas Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 A heroic and gibby sacrifice like that would be awesome..
Rechkalov Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I don't want to be the buzzkill (just kidding, I love to be the buzzkill), but that seems both a bit too elaborate, and a bit... unecessary. I mean, how many grenades do you encounter, on a daily basis?

And I do like the idea; it'd be nice to have a way to be a hero, and also see if we can get the hilarious situation where multiple people all jump on the same grenade.

The option nudges you to be the hero; as far as I am concerned, whoever thinks of it purely ICly, without having a button that would yell "Hey, click for badass points", does actually deserve some applause - but nobody else.
Tenenza Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I wonder how many people will end up jumping on (metal) foam grenades or EMP grenades. On that note, would they still gib? Because it would be silly and mildly funny if they still gibbed. EDIT: Bombsuits should result in them not gibbing, but still probably going into crit.

I'm not sure if it should result in them gibbing. Maybe there could be a chance of it. I think it'd be better if it just gave them major damage to all organs, brute brain damage, internal bleeding in the chest, and shattered ribs.
