Ian The Corgi Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 BYOND Key: (This is your Byond login/Ckey) Ian The Corgi Total Ban Length: (The total time of your ban. You can also note your remaining time, though it is not required) 4320 minutes Banning staff member's Key: (This is the staff member's BYOND key/Ckey who placed the ban) voltagehero Reason of Ban: (You can see this when you attempt to log in to the server) A lot of self-antag actions happened during this round the round by this playe, and in the end, they managed to cause a suicide bomber to kill himself, which led to the death of multiple players. They have been warned once about self-antaging during the round.. Reason for Appeal: (State your reason for why you think you should be unbanned) 1st "Self Antagging": I stole a multitool as an opportunistic theft 2nd "Self Antagging": I stole some meat, then proceeded to resist arrest after a SO dropped his pepperspray. 3rd "Self Antagging": Warden left my locker open, so took toolbelt and cut through to area didn't know was space (Warned at this point) Final "Self Antagging": Large crowd gathered around science, when I followed they said "slade, get the fuck out of here" and as I left they peppersprayed me and I went running, and a bomb went off. It was all really a series of horrifying accidents/misfortunes and I don't think I should be banned for what I don't think is my fault (4th "Self-Antag). voltagehero did not allow me to explain my case fully before I received the ban. (Character Name: Kourtney Slade)
VoltageHero Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 You also had hacked into multiple areas, and had been arrested for it (twice, I believe). The first time was near the start of the round, and the Captain told you to fix it. The second time you were caught hacking, it was after an engineer had caught you (and I believe you attacked them as well?) in the maintenance near medical. While hacking doors in and of itself wouldn't have been a problem, the fact that you continued to do so, combined with your other antics raised a problem. With regards to the pepperspray, you picked it up for no reason soon after being spoken to about hacking doors, and sprayed the Captain, then ran into the dorms and sprayed another officer, before continuing to run away. And, regarding the bomb, I'm not a hundred percent certain on what caused the explosion itself. What I do know is that you were, as an Assistant, trying to enter an area with high security presence, and after being sprayed ran inside the science hall, which caused the explosion to occur. While I should have spoken to you earlier, a lot of what you did during the round was pretty poor, and I believe it should have been pretty obvious that you were doing things you weren't supposed to be doing, as a non-antag.
Guest Menown Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Hi, I was in security and shadowing officers that arrested you. Your character was a visitor. You, as a visitor, proceed to violate several infractions, over and over, over the course of the round. If you're a visitor in any establishment, especially a high-security research facility, and you go around stealing things while causing trouble, you'll be sent out the door and won't be allowed back. While I do agree a ban may have been a bit harsh, warnings would suffice, given that your character would likely be held to a higher watch standard given their position on the station as a visitor.
CampinKiller Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 As someone who was there at the bomb incident, I don't know why you were there, but when they were pepper sprayed and couldn't see, they caused the bomber to move, which caused the Detective holding the bomber at gunpoint to fire, which caused the bomber to automatically press the button.
Ian The Corgi Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 With regards to the pepperspray, you picked it up for no reason soon after being spoken to about hacking doors, and sprayed the Captain, then ran into the dorms and sprayed another officer, before continuing to run away. I said I was fixing the doors I hacked, and they just repeatedly shouted GET ON THE GROUND, so I darted.
Ian The Corgi Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 And, regarding the bomb, I'm not a hundred percent certain on what caused the explosion itself. What I do know is that you were, as an Assistant, trying to enter an area with high security presence, and after being sprayed ran inside the science hall, which caused the explosion to occur. I didn't know anything about it, and was leaving when they told me to fuck off THEN I got peppercheesed.
Ian The Corgi Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 In essence, I was just doing some low level stuff, petty theft and things until it went out of hand, when I was presented with an opportunity to escape. After that some pretty shitty things happened (Brig vented) Which led me to just stay out of trouble. Then I went to investigate something (Science) and when I got told to fuck off, I couldn't leave before I got peppered and ran around idk what happened but bomb went off
Outboarduniform Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 let me throw in here , i was one of the officers that had to arrest you multiple times. not only were your actions a little powergamey (a visitor stealing shit and hacking through doors) , but you literally had no valid reason to do any of it. IE stealing a meat locker and tripping me and the captain with it. it was more of self-antagging than anything else
Guest Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Erm, I don't know if this was the same round, but I do recall having to arrest you a total of 4 times as a head of security because you kept breaking into the brig with a full set of electronic tools and equipment. 1.) You attempted to break into the bridge, failed because the AI locked you out and shut off power to the airlock. 2.) You cut all of the wires to a cargo maintenance airlock, effectively making the door bolted open forever until it was finally fixed by a borg that knew what they were doing. 3.) You forced open a door into the brig and entered as I was watching you hack the door from the other side. Because you never fixed this airlock, the traitor antagonist was able to walk through, not have to use an emag on an extra door, emag my own door and then emag my locker and make off with several precious security items. And what was hilarious was that your actions greatly eclipsed that of the antagonists trying to do shit. You did more antagging as a non-antag than the antags of the round did, and a fair deal of them were trying to maintain their cover for as long as they could.
