Outboarduniform
so , as many times as i have been demoted (actually not many times but that's besides the point). It seems that all captains are keen on terminating/demoting people just because they refuse to follow an order from them. would NanoTrasen allowed the captain to make such a brash decision over one infraction ? just a question to relate to , really. SierraKomodo
As a small clarification, ICly, if the captain orders it, it's not termination from your job, it's suspension for the shift. Only CC can order an outright termination/demotion outside of a single shift. Quote Link to comment
Guest
It depends, really. If it's a character no one knows of regarding their criminal record or et cetera, then I would expect leniency from command in regards to allowing a criminal to rehabilitate, think on what they did and then return to the job all the wiser. If there were specific conditions that led to your arrest such as resisting, being extremely confrontational or violent about it... then ehhhh, you might deserve a time-out in the brig for awhile, in addition to some more things. I'm going to assume you did not deserve a demotion, so I will say this so that you prevent getting beaten. Do this: Comply with sec as a non-antag. Even if the charges are wrong, if it's a 5-10 minute sentence, you can bear to alt-tab and shitpost about non-SS13 things on other forum boards or something. Hell, read a quick passage from a book, try to remain chill. If the sentence was wrong, then bear with it, serve it through and then complain concisely and politely later on. If it's a demotion and it was non-antag related (and parties involved didn't get ganked+killed by antags), write up an IR on that. DOs will handle it. If it's a sentence over 20 mins and you really think that it was too much, call the captain or HoS over to bargain regarding your sentence. Tracker implant, etc, or even trying to convince them that what you did was not wrong and that it was all a misconception and not anyone's fault. Try not to throw the blame at the cops, they will not usually have any patience for that. Quote Link to comment
ChevalierMalFet
I think that for clear disciplinary infractions, refusal to work in the team, making too many mistakes, and otherwise being uncooperative, it seems that the Captain or relevant Head saying "that's it, you're done for the day, turn in your card" is a very fitting punishment. If a relevant authority figure issues a lawful order, and their subordinate refuses to do it, what do you think the response should be? Quote Link to comment
rrrrrr
You (and a lot of other dude) seem to mistakenly think being "fired" is actually.. being fired. It's not. Duty Officers can fire you on the spot because they're a bunch of assholes who are very easily able to abuse their power and should be completely done away with. Haha woops that got off track. Anyways, yeah, the Captain can force you to retire for the shift. You aren't being fired for good. Quote Link to comment

In order to fire, permanently terminate, or take any form of long term (See: 1 month or more) action against people, we need to confer with Gollee and admins. Quote Link to comment
