Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race:

I would like to try all the races, this being one of them. It is enthralling to look at the overall picture when humanity is included with various races. Mass Effect captured this well. It also brings up a fine example of why I wish to play this race, since far too often during my playthrough of the Mass Effect Trilogy did I end up saying, "How awesome would it be to play as that race?" Here I am on something far less graphically advanced, but I still find myself saying that same sentence when I read the lore behind the other races. I want to get to a point where I roleplay as the Tajara and everything that makes them different isn't awkwardly made obvious. Instead, I want it to not be noticed even though the differences exist and just feel right. I'm not sure how to explain it other than that and with such a poor explanation I don't expect to be perfect immediately. But as it's been said, "90% of life is just showing up." Therefore, I show up with an application to roleplay as my first different race.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

The mannerisms, the culture, and effort are only some of the reasons this race requires one to roleplay differently. A majority of what you could do as a human, you might do as a Tajara, but it isn't done in the same way. The lore behind Tajara history may not be anything we haven't seen from people on earth in 2016, but once again the inclusion of humanity as a comparison changes what might otherwise be just another character. The adjustments needed to make for the fact its a completely different race require effort that is different from any type of human. It may vary how much of a change is necessary during roleplay. However, it's a step towards getting out of that comfort zone when playing as a human character.

Character Name: Irinei Daniil

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Irinei was an prodigy. His family was proud to have given birth to him. Some might say he perfected the art of mining. What made him better at mining? Nothing. The three phrases were simply what kept the tajara enthusiastic about collecting what might just end up as junk. But the silence of space was calming. Even before the hardsuits and the vacuum of space, to speak while mining meant one had to pause working. However, as part of the Zhan-Khazan, that wouldn't cut it. His parents had faith in him when he left their care. If he had to adjust to an entirely different environment and teach himself more than he would his entire life on Adhomai, then he would do it. That way, when he told himself those three phrases, it wouldn't be a lie.

What do you like about this character?

Its a start to sparking my interest in roleplay again. Plus I'm finding myself in a slump lately in any roleplay and judging myself too hard on anything I come up with. Ultimately this means nothing gets done and I stick with what I'm comfortable with.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? Not all that great, but I try even if I'm hard on myself.

Notes: Please let me know anything that needs correction and I will correct it as soon as I get a chance.

I'm not sure if tarrajan dialogue automatically has the RRRRRRs or not, because if they do that might be tough.

Really your motive seems fair enough. like for example, in starbound humans look like the most boring race (i mean compared to communist apes, warmonger big eater plant people, aztec/mayan bird people, and MEDIEVAL ROBOTS, yeah..they seem kind of lame).

I say +1 mate, but I'm tellin' you it's going to be tough.

I know it will be difficult. But things like this are incredibly fun. Challenges like this are interesting, like when I tried to go a whole DnD session with my character contributing yet never mentioning a word for as long as possible.

You get used to it fairly quickly anyway. When I was using my Tajara full time, I starting writing the rolled r's on assignments during school.

You have my support, but I think your backstory is really short and will need some modification as well as elaboration before the staff themselves will be ready to approve of the application. It looks good so far, though~

If I can improve it I will, but I was always one for the "KISS" (keep it simple stupid) method. Gets the point across better and is still enough to be 2 paragraphs.
