Reason for complaint: I wish to contest a warning I received for tranq-darting a Vaurca that ripped apart a simple mob lizard corpse at escape near the end of the round. I don't know where else to put it.

During a rather violent and hectic traitor round, a Vaurca completely in the nude and not wearing any form of jumpsuit whatsoever ripped apart a lizard in the escape lobby under the pretense that they "were eating food". Upon seeing a disgusting unclothed bugbeast who had been doing a terrible job at sending cargo crates to their proper departments completely rip a lizard corpse into gore and shreds of intestines, my CMO opted to tranqdart the Vaurca with a syringe mix of 5 ccs of chloral and 10 ccs of soporific because of the disgusting display they witnessed.

Rather than taking it IC and understanding it was reactive for tearing a small animal limb from limb in the middle of a crowded space, they instead opted to adminhelp it thinking that this was carried out for no reason.

The trialmod that contacted me then insisted that this was against the OOC rules, despite that two conditions were present:

1.) The decision to gib a lizard in the middle of a crowd was IC.

2.) The decision to tranquilize a bugbeast that just ripped something into shreds and gore, was IC.

I don't really understand how this is something you can warn someone for. "You can't do something without RP even if you had RP/IC reasoning for it."

The way it was explained to me, was that the vaurca did RP their eating of the lizard, loudly announcing it before doing it, and then getting scolded by several people right after. From their point of view, the CMO just shot them without saying/emoting anything beforehand, not having any RP interaction with them after that either. I understand the CMO had IC reasons to have a tranq dart on him and be wary of the vaurca, but tranqing them because of a mechanics thing they RPed without doing an emote first or something /really/ detracts from the vaurca player's fun. Which is the reason why I made the warning, you should keep everything you do fun for other players if you can.

I don't believe Vaurca eat meat, they only eat fungus from what the wiki says.

EDIT: Know I'm not involved but this is kinda relative to the Vaurca just tearing into a lizard for no reason.

As per the present rules, it isn't a requirement to use me's or say's in a situation like this. Combat is considered RP past the point where someone gets gibbed, and so are actions. Though the ideal is that you would have pulled them up on scope, and see where it goes from there.

Right. I was under the assumption just shooting them like that (and with it, interrupting other people RPing with them) was a huge dick move and in conflict with the rules. Sorry, 1138.

It's cool, I just want the warning removed if Skull were to OK that.

I will endeavor to provide more warning so such controversy or doubt doesn't sprout up in the future.
