BYOND Key:Hartburry

Character Names:Eddie Clark, Kitty Durant, Jace Kifer (although I doubt most people will recognize him as I hardly play him)

How long have you been playing on Aurora:On and off since June

Species you are applying to play: Tajara

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yeah

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race:

Well, I want to develop into a better role player around this station and I think that in order to do that I should attempt to play an alien species because of the differences in role-playing you encounter when playing a species. The Tajara are a cool species because of the flexibility of the race in terms of role-playing. I think that a fault to a couple of the races is that you get thrown into playing the stereotype of the race. The Tajara are cool however because they, like the humans, have such a large population that no two Tajara really have an excuse of being alike. With all the different ethnicity of the Tajara it also allows for unique role-playing experiences with other Tajara players.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

This might make a couple of you guys mad but I think personally that out of all the alien races the Tajara are most similar to Humans. They both come from cultures where oftentimes the ruling upper class controls the lower people and they seem to have a lot of diversity in their beliefs (however they are much more excepting of other beliefs than humans because from what I can tell the upper class of the human society really still reigns supreme). Besides the obvious dialect differences Tajara have to be different than humans in terms of what they hold in their minds as valuable. Music for example has shaped Tajaran history more so than any humans history which makes it easier for stories and such to be passed in Tajaran culture because it is not required to know how to read in order to learn history. Also they are much more willing to help those in need because of their brutal history of being put down.

Why does this species in particular hold your interest?

I think that unlike other races what you can do with a Tajara is much more. You could play as your typical Hharar Tajaran who is simply looking for some work to support his family or you could play as a radical Njarir’Akhran who has been holding a grudge against the people who took his family out of power. There are so many possibilities.

Character Name: Hakra Drat

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Hakra is a M'sai Tajaran raised into a small family. At a young age Hakra was deemed by his family very talented. Whether it was his skills at hunting or his clever words he was always receiving praise. However like many young minds nowadays Hakra was a slacker. Not one to ever work for anything he simply just assumed things would go his way. This lead him to hate the stagnation of living in a M'sai hunting family, he felt like he had experienced everything. Hakra then decided to take what money he could find and run off catching a shuttle to the inner colonies, there he was exposed to lifes "fine" aspects, within a month after a streak of bad luck playing poker Hakra found himself penniless on the streets. In an attempt to find a way home Hakra ended agreeing to work for an underground smuggling organization which ran weapons and drugs to multiple cartels. Here Hakra thrieved, his natural cunning and intelligence kept him alive and one day while running a large amount of cash he decided to run off... with the money.

Now wanted by multiple Cartel's Hakra sent in an application to Nanotrasen to work on one of their space-stations with the intent of finding himself some sort of craft with which he can run off to his home world with in order to show his family all of his new-found wealth. However he now has multiple cartels all looking for his head as the smuggling company has said that the reward for Hakra's head is half of the cash he owns. For the time being though Hakra has found some safety working as a cargo technician/engineer for the NSS Aurora.

What do you like about this character?

I think Hakra allows me to play a devious character, kind of like one of my previous characters Kitty Durant but in comparison to her he will be much more sane. I will enjoy playing as him because he will always be trying to find new ways to make money or slack off.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? Uhm I'm not sure... I think I've definitely gotten a lot better though since I got white-listed for the Heads of Staff though.

Notes: I just want to make sure you guys know that even though Hakra is a slacker and is affiliated with illegal things I will not find any opportunity to grief and cause mischief. I promise you Hakra wont be some character who will beg the chemist for space drugs and proceed to go and afk at the bar while seeing all the pretty colors. I will role-play him well and with respect to the servers rules and just the general unspoken ethics of being a good role-player on the server.

Edit I fixed a typo in the character biography which made it seem like Hakra was a criminal.
