Just a small suggestion. Our current fire alarm is (imo) one of the ugliest and most mismatched sprites we have, so I tried to push out a few designs to make it a lot sleeker and in-line with our other current sprites.

Can you show what the other alarms would look like when they're activated, and/or when the code is blue or red? The third is pretty obvious what would change, but I can't tell how the second would convey that.

For the second one, in case it isn't sprited yet, it looks like it would work like the current one. I see a little line above the green screen, maybe that changes colour. Or maybe its the big green screen, but that seems a little unattractive.

The line above the green screen lights up and flashes red during a fire alarm - the big green changes color and displays information based on alert level (green, blue, red, delta).


They haven't been sprited yet, they're just proofs of concept for now.

I like the current one, personally. The other two look more to me like APCs.

I'd like something more compact and small, if we had to resprite. Maybe some cylinder with a fire alarm light on top and a second light below that giving the alert color.

Compact makes it harder to click and get a good read from (gamestate).


The first sprite I'm proposing actually turns it more into a kind of "emergency panel", justifying the size of the alarm as it has a screen displaying the station's current security status. The station's fire alarms have always been more in function than just something you pull, anyway.

First is nice, very easy to read and well-sprited. Second just doesn't look right from that angle, like it's directly facing the player/tilted upward.
