Pyrociraptor
When I did the first one, I was still kinda unknown, but now, I'm retrying. BYOND key: Pyrociraptor Character names: Emmerich Mullerizoschulizt, Stanislas von Kurgebergst, Hanz Velderbigrzest, Jonathan Joleculington,PyroBOT, Others character with a long family name How long have you been playing on Aurora?: More than 6 months now Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: The role of Head of Staff is an extra challenge with more responsabilities, but also more abilities. Why did you come to Aurora?: I was switching between two server back then. One day, they got shut down, and I was looking for another server with some real roleplay. And then I found Aurora. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yep, all of them. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: "Playing" Roleplay is becoming one with the character you're playing with. You act, think and play the way you imagine your character would. Your in-game knowledge is limited to your character's one,and according to his backstory. OOC Information can't be used in-game; Even if you know the whole wiki, that doesn't mean that your character will know everything. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The Head of Staff is the one in charge of his Departement, and must be able to do the job of anyone in said departement. He's also the one that get his departement working, by either giving work to his staff, approving request, and doing some of the most important Paperwork. The Head of Staff other important roles is, with other Head of Staff, take care of any problem or threat to the station, and should think before doing anything. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: OOC-Wise, the Head of Staff is a model for his department, but also the one that coordinate it. He is supposed to know a bit of every job that make his department, and should be able to easily replace any missing staff for it. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Stanislas von Kurgebergst Character age: 42 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): (Thanks to Youbar for that bio.) Stanislas, otherwise known as Stan to his friends, comes from an Aristocratic family. He aspired to be a scientist in his youth, and extensively trained in courses relating to telescience, anomalies, and robotics. At the age of 18, he applied for an apprenticeship at a company exploring and testing the limits of robotics, and it was there that he assembled his first cyborg. Shortly after, however, a failed coups d'état attempt escalated into a civil war, leaving the country divided and the economy stifled. The company cut its losses and fired redundancies such as Stanislas, and he was forced to find work elsewhere. For the remainder of the war, his time was spent treating injured with basic medical skills he'd acquired, and repairing prosthetic limbs in return for food, water, and a limited stream of income from donations. Stanislas's opportunity to learn further into the field of science was crushed, his knowledge restricted to basic textbooks from childhood schooling, and the limited experience he had during his apprenticeship. He did acquire a new passion, though: engineering. Stanislas applied to become a part of the government's massive rebuild efforts, his duties initially restricted to manual labour, but over the years he was elevated to a position where he took part in more advanced construction duties, such as rebuilding houses and infrastructure. Just after his 30th birthday, Stanislas was offered a chance to test his abilities in space. Applying some of his limited scientific knowledge, he patched up a singularity engine with a fair amount of difficulty and managed to re-establish power to a dated station which served as an entertainment platform. The operation having taken only half as long as expected, the government noted his abilities and sent him on an advanced engineering course. It explained complicated wire circuits, the physics behind pressure distribution, and advanced construction. Stanislas was applying this knowledge to his next project when Nanotrasen contacted him, giving him a chance to work in a top of the line research station, the NSS Aurora. He disliked their profit based motives, but it offered an undeniable opportunity to expand his abilities even further. What do you like about this character?: Mostly that we're both Engineer. Not in the same "department", but still. What do you dislike about this character?: He's not the kind one, and prefer an aggressive approach of situations. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Stanislas spent many years in his department, and learned many thing during his life. He's qualified to be a Chief Engineer, but still tries to expand his knowledge. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 7/10, While I'm bad at writing biographies/Backstories, I easily get "inside" my character. Extra notes: Most of my characters are german, and All of them have accent. (Aka Emmerich the Warden.) Also, I master Pseudo-science ! Behold ! Edited July 29, 2016 by Guest Link to comment
Youbar
Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: "Playing" Roleplay is becoming one with the character you're playing with. You act, think and play the way you imagine your character would. Your in-game knowledge is limited to your character's one,and according to his backstory. OOC Information can't be used in-game; Even if you know the whole wiki, that doesn't mean that your character will know everything. Seems like a fairly good definition of roleplay. Basically summarises it into roleplaying a character, and the things to take into account, such as only utilising IC information. I feel like this describes more the IC purpose of the Head of Staff, instead of an OOC purpose, such as advancing the round, being a rolemodel to crew, etc. Then again, it's up to perception and I'm not quite sure how to answer it myself. I've had trouble with the above two questions, simply because they seem like they fit into the same general idea. This answer seems about right. What do you like about this character?: Mostly that we're both Engineer. Not in the same "department", but still. What do you dislike about this character?: He's not the kind one, and prefer an aggressive approach of situations. This should go into a bit more depth. How does what you like about your character effect others? How does your character being aggressive and unkind add to roleplay? These are mostly the key problems with the application I've had. I've encountered Emmerich in-game, and I found him particularly interesting in comparison to others around him. Pyro has a firm grip on roleplaying, I find it's simply his lack of interaction with the crew ICly and OOCly is pulling him back. The bio is flawless, too (definitely not because I wrote it ). Overall, a some-what reluctant +1, only due to the lack of further details in the answers. Link to comment
Snoopy11
I've had several decent encounters with Pyro with his various characters, and the ones that stand out to me are Emmerich and Helmut. The effort he puts alone into the accents is impeccable and what I'd say dedicated to keeping up a good and decent RP atmosphere. Can't say I've seen or heard of anything bad going on, so I'll +1. Lemme know if this feedback is good or not, I've tried to be concise. Link to comment

Catnip
I've not had a bad interaction with any of their characters. Their warden specifically, I've worked with quite a lot, and he's one of the best wardens around, and has shown the capability to command well if the need arrises. I have no doubts that they will make a good head of staff. +1 Link to comment
