Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Republic of Elyra

Founding/Settlement Date (if applicable): 6th of December, 2399

Region of Space: Republic of Elyra controlled region of space

Controlled by (if not a faction): N/A

Other Snapshot information: The basics of this is that this is an anthem for the Republic of Elyra using the same form or manner as modern day anthems are, mainly in the GCC countries as I'm more familiar with them. I've also included the composer to liven it up.

Long Description:

Republic of Elyra Nation Anthem “Our Elyra”

Live my country, for the unity of our Elyra lives

To glory and greatness we march

For Elyra, we have sworn to live and work

For Elyra, we sweat and toil

For our Elyra, we await the call

From our Elder to our Children, we await the call

With haste we march, for Greatness

Oh my Elyra, we sacrifice for you.

With our blood and soul, we stand for you.

Oh my Elyra, Oh my Elyra, we are yours forever.

For greatness, we strive!

Long live our Elyra.

Note: The Anthem was translated from Arabic to Ceti Basic and suffers from certain issues in regards of the rhythm it is recited with.

Composed by Hamad Abdulrahman

Hamad Abdulrahman, descendent of the early colonists from Egypt, born in the year of 2364, son to Abdulrahman and Fatmia, owners of a quiet restaurant in one of the outskirt towns in Busra. Hamad was an aspirant writer and poet from his childhood, with his poems using an Arabic form, as opposed to the Western style of poetry. Once he had graduated from high school, he had enrolled in the University of Amman, a nearby urban center, with his studies focusing on the Arabic language. Hamad Abdulrahman would go on to graduate with a Masters in Arabic Literature. Hamads initial poetry works while not amazing, had gathered him a following on his self publishing blog, titled “Al-Adeeb”.

The turning point for the respect Hamad Abdulrahamn would come on the 6th of December, five days after the formation of the Republic of Elyra, where he would release one his works, which would later be said to be his best work, it was titled “Our Elyra”. Within a day of it being published, it had spread like fire, with his following changing from a few thousand to a hundreds of thousands, and then millions by the second day. He was labeled as the equivalent of Hamad Abdul-Wahab, a famous composer from 20th century Egypt. His work would later be then held to a vote and picked as a representation of their nation, their anthem.

Hamad Abdulrahman would then spend most of his time giving lectures in the University of Amman before passing away in his sleep on the 28th of November 2438, a few days shy of the annual celebration of the formation of the Republic of Elyra. His funeral was decreed to be a national event, with government officials and a multitude of citizens attending the ceremony.

I enjoy the attention to detail here. It's great to add more flavor the game world, especially when it gives a nod to Elyra's earthly heritage. There's even a nice bit of history to go along with the song too! As someone who enjoys world-building, I hope more people decide they'd like to submit stuff like this.

The lyrics seem appropriately patriotic for an anthem. Like any song though, it's hard to imagine how good they sound without the actual music. Is there any track you can imagine this being played to?

This is acceptable.

I'll have this added to the wiki momentarily.

If you think this can be improved on, maybe even have it translated to Arabic using English letters, I'd be happy to do so.

I'd have to shake my head at that, as I'd rather have the wiki be readable. An Arabic translation on the wiki would be inappropriate, especially considering the language of Arabic is a Sol Common dialect only. I would also like to condense as much needed/interesting information as possible into as little amounts of text as possible for the sake of being able to read the wiki.

Apparently I left this unlocked after I moved it? I honestly thought those without certain perms couldn't post here. Oh well, I'll fix that. DM me if you have any further questions, though I won't likely be up to answer them until later.
