How long have you been playing on Aurora?:A little over a month.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I want to help improve people's experience on the server and helpfully guide the department I head for maximum efficiency. I also wanna do mini-events. Everyone loves mini-events.

Why did you come to Aurora?: The systems really appealed to me, as well as the RP atmosphere. Coming from Goon and Paradise, it's a big break from the chaotic greytide.

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:

Roleplay is immersing yourself in a character, to the point where you are thinking as the character. Something like improve acting. I think of roleplay as just a more serious way to immerse yourself, to really create the experience of being that 2d spessman. It's a feat, but it's a large part of immersion for those who are weary of the greytide, the random toolboxing, the incompetent crewmembers. It's a framework that makes the game all that much more enjoyable. It should be about having fun, and about playing your role because you enjoy it.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:

To provide guidance and oversight. similarly to a manager or in some cases even a teacher. They're the ones accountable for their department, as they're also the perceived experts OF their department. It's someone looked up to, both ICly and OOCly, for enlightenment on the game, how to do things, and how to be a good medic/engineer/officer/etc.

Ultimately, they're also the sociable ones, the ones that probably should represent the 'face' of the game, in a way. They're the ones who jump in to help, the ones who are entrusted to take the role with care and keep the station running smooth.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:

Whitelisted players serve as people who are seen as knowledgeable in the game, and upstanding members of the community. It's a symbol of sorts. You're a representative of the community, because in a role like that you stand out, and you shouldn't take something like that lightly. As a whitelisted player, I am here to make the game better for others while having some fun of my own, something that I'm definitely in to. There is great RP to be had, and whitelisted players are great perpetuators of the roleplay atmosphere. I want to perpetuate that atmosphere, and create a good time for everyone.

Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions.

Character name: Harriet Ablian

Character age: 33

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

Harriet was born in a now-destroyed station's medical ward at 03:27am. The station was simply called 'The Trident'. It specialized in many aqua and slime related research and endeavors. Naturally, as she grew up, she drifted toward the science and the medicine behind it. As she grew, she learned more about the space around her, and about NanoTrasen. She didn't think much of it for awhile. She completed some basic science and engineering education, and chartered a spot on a shuttle heading for a system recruitment center. At the SRC, she applied to many corporations in the Tau Ceti system, eventually being employed by Einstein as an Engineer, with full free education.

However, she proved to not fit well at the company, when her employment benefits were jeopardized by an intern being flung through a window by a damaged atmospherics pipe, which she had previously been found not at fault for. She handed in her resignation the next day, her supervisor thankfully understanding and willing to give a good recommendation. She found herself applying to NanoTrasen some time later, and apparently the supervisor was such a great recommendation that they offered her to direct the engineering team aboard the Exodus. She accepted the employment, and took to learning NanoTrasen's infrastructure. Within the next six months, she'd be fielded and ready to go.

What do you like about this character?: I like that she speaks her mind when it comes to her. She doesn't hesitate to throw shade, or tell someone off if she feels the need.

What do you dislike about this character?: Nothing. I wouldn't play a character that I disliked, especially when the character is an amplified version of me.

What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: She's able to think through things to some degree, and because she isn't hesitate or take others' feelings into consideration as much, she's incredibly efficient. Some call her a sociopath, that's not quite true, she's just quite eccentric.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: A good 8/10. I've been into serious roleplay for the last couple years, and it's definitely something that's always beckoned to me.

Extra notes: None, really.

I've seen Troy around. I liked his character quite a bit, but sadly I don't have the best memory for their actual if-they-did-their-job type of deal. but they do Roleplay to others very well, and I believe if nothing else they should at least have a chance at dipping their feet in the waters so to speak, as I really don't think many other people has actually noticed Troy or Harriet themselves.

By far I play Troy the most, as that sec officer. I play Harriet if there's literally no engineers, and Lolly if there's no chef. I found it easier to write a backstory for Harriet though, because I already had a fleshed out idea before I created her on Aurora, as opposed to bringing something from scratch.

Honestly, I don't think you have what it takes to play as a head of staff. You need a lot more time and experience here before that, especially given my experiences with you. They've left a slightly sour taste in my mouth, and Troy in particular gives off an extreme vibe of poor sec play, immaturity and generally, the attitude you expect from a green cadet, not a commander. I have seen him goad on fights, talk shit to prisoners, and honestly give the department a fairly bad name.

I do agree that Troy is pretty jovial and energetic, but he doesn't hand out undeserved shit to someone, and I can't remember when he legitimately tried to goad a fight. Perhaps it was one of his many casual jokes.

e: Ah, you're the one who filed the incident report that I was included in. That seems to be your only experience of me/Troy, and a skewed one at that.

Hardly. In fact, I've got another incident of you appearing to think you hold personal rights to company property you illegitimately purchased on Trulock.

Trust me. You have a long, LONG way to go.

That is indeed exactly how it has been for as long as I've been buying things from cargo. It was reinforced by the warden during that round that the purchase was legitimate on my end, and I held property rights to it. The only reason it was ever contested is because the QM wasn't putting the funds into station accounts. Had he been, it'd have been a fully legitimate purchase.

e: After a little research, it would probably belong to the security department, meaning the CMO still had absolutely no place to have me hand them over to Medical.

Made cargo more fun to go to, more involved than just putting forms on a table. Required a signature and money and having to actually roleplay; I loved it. Big ups. I also saw (but didn't buy from) the shop they ran, the random box giveaway, etc, and definitely approved of that and want to see more of the same. 10/10
