Aqy's Tajaran Application

Recommended Posts

Character Names:Emmy Gray, Eliza Blackwell.

How long have you been playing on Aurora:A few months.

Species you are applying to play:Tajaran.

What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Diona exempt):A slight variation of Kochiba - Stemming from her mother's genetics.

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race:As I read Tajaran lore, while considering applying to be a part of the Jawdats, it actually started to really interest me. Their culture, and the recent upheaval of their government system has the opportunity for really interesting role-play. I was also asked to be apart of the Jackboot-Jawdat family. After getting to know the Jawdat story, I'm somewhat attached to their family idea.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:Playing Tajaran is different than playing a human because of the fact that many Tajaran have witnessed first-hand the revolution that changed very many aspects of their lives, and many even born afterwards still feel the effects of having a caste-like system for so long, that is suddenly gone.

Why does this species in particular hold your interest? This species holds my interest because they are only just starting to expand, albeit with the help of humans. The tension that still remains for most Tajaran having grown up in rather rough conditions having a remaining effect, especially in the Jawdat family, will make for interesting interactions, as well as the fact that they may have been deprived of many things that most everyone else would take for granted.

Character Name:Samiya Jawdat

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Samiya was born only years after the revolution on Adhomai, whose after effects would lead to the death of her parents. Soon after their parents had passed, Samiya and her four siblings went to live with their Uncle in the Capital. After having fought in the Great War, Samiya's uncle returned to civilian life and was forced to work hard labor to support her and her siblings. The lifetime of hard labor and PTSD from the war slowly made him infirm, he is now near completely incapable to care for himself. Having virtually no memories of her parents, Samiya grew to rely on her oldest sibling, Houssam, who was the first to start working when their uncle became unable to do so. Being the youngest out of five siblings, Samiya often had no chance to get a word in edgewise; learning instead to be an intent and quiet listener, rarely speaking. Growing up, Samiya would often dismantle and put back together various appliances, often times leading Houssam and her uncle to come home various dismantled heaters and alarm clocks. When she wasn't taking apart the kitchen, Samiya spent most of her time scavenging for gears and bobbles, building and fixing simple things, amassing a small hoard or wind-up toys made with various bits and pieces. Although her sister, Buthanyah has shown an affinity for brute strength, Samiya’s scavenging skills taught her to be quick on her feet, choosing often to run instead of fight a threat head-on.

Years down the road, as Houssam began siphoning credits, she was able to go through mundane schooling, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Roboticist. Though her ambitions are important to her, she puts the family first, caring for her uncle, and doing necessary jobs that befit her skills. Whether through credible means or otherwise, Houssam was able to get her a place aboard the NSS Aurora as a lab assistant, where she intends to work towards her goals, while still assisting her family to the best of her capabilities.

What do you like about this character?I like the idea of playing this character mine have been outspoken people who are willing to go against what people say, and playing someone who is quieter and more passive will be a big change. Aside from that, I also think that being apart of the Jawdat Family will be interesting, and will make for interesting interactions.

How would you rate your role-playing ability?I think that I'm a somewhat decent role-player, and that I've improved a lot from when I started.
