Overview of the Incident: So my shaft miner Helen notifies the rest of Cargo that she's on the asteroid and has a mishap with a drill, resulting in an explosion. Being on the safe side, I told her to come back to the station so that I could have a look at her and send her to medbay if needed. She gets back on station, I grab the Cargo first aid kit and check her out. Bit of blunt trauma to the chest, and a fair bit of poisoning in her system. Personally, I suspect radiation poisoning, but I'm not doctor. So I escort her to medbay to make sure she'll get there alright, and then tell her to come back after she's been treated. The paramedic sends her back with a bottle of painkillers and says she's good to go. At this point, my bullshit alarm is going off. Again, I'm no doctor, but it doesn't take a fancy doctorate to know that poisoning isn't gonna be cured by painkillers. I send Helen back to medbay to tell the doctors that she's suffering from radiation poisoning and that if they don't treat her this time I'm filing a report. So she goes back, and guess what? Radiation poisoning. Also shrapnel in her chest. I took a basic god damn first aid course. I know how to use a health analyzer and treat small wounds. This paramedic did nothing short of shoving a bottle of painkillers in my miner's hand and told her to get out. Helen even protested, saying she truly didn't feel well, according to her. Paramedic ignored it until I sent her back. If I didn't take that course, I'd have sent her back to the asteroid thinking medbay had her treated right. Lucky for Helen, I did. So here's my report.

Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Faysal Al-Shennawi, Head of Personnel (Unknown)

Actions taken: Double checked Helen's well being myself. Made sure she got the treatment she needed. Reported the doctor to the Head of Personnel, who said there was nothing he could do about it.

Additional notes: I don't give a damn what your excuse is. It takes three seconds to grab a health analyzer and check someone's vitals. If I can do it, damn straight someone with a degree in the field can. I can tell you right now that Stephanie did nothing of the sort, or she'd have noticed the toxins in Helen's system. This time it was relatively minor and easily treatable, outside of the surgery needed to remove the shrapnel from her chest. Someone else might not be so lucky. I don't know what'll happen, but I'd be a piss poor Quartermaster if I let my staff be mistreated without doing anything about it.
