Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race: I prefer to play the synthetic races and have yet to expand to any other race besides human in any station. I want to expand my gaming repertoire and a new 'race' might be a good way to do that. I like the challenges and personality that comes with an utter lack of personality in robots that I play, but want to spread into a race that falls in the gentle middle ground between humans and robots. Industrial IPCs come with a unique set of advantages and disadvantages that would make the play experience different from a mechanics and RP perspective, and the thought of spending hours relearning the intricacies of my character is great. Industrial IPCs are also something I don't see very often, so bringing more variety to the station is always fun! Especially on the heels of the Sol Alliance campaign.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I currently play humans and robots exclusively, mixing and matching aspects of the cold objectivity and the humanity of a soul provides a unique experience. Having to recharge and use different equipment than normal brings up new challenges that reinvigorate the setting and interactions with other people. Being able to wade through a fire to rescue a crewmen is dramatic and is something that a human couldn't do but an robot could almost do too easily. That middle ground and the roleplayed struggle of a thing attempting to mimic a human in an entirely synthetic chassis is invigorating.

Character Name: Ranger G-031

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

The conflict between Biesel and Sol saw conflict in all facets. Skirmishes, political maneuvers, and economic diplomacy were ongoing. A military engineer turned entrepreneur saw an opportunity in all of these fronts. Using positronic brains in heavy duty chassis, dependable soldiers, guards, police, or any sort of armed personnel could be replaced cheaply with no loss in capability. Multiple levels of positronic brains were inserted in heavier IPC chassis to provide different capabilities and specialties.

Ranger G-031 was part of the Gamma series of 'Ranger' specification IPCs. Originally planned to serve in combat roles they were designed with minimal positronic space for emotions but enhanced combat and minor engineering and medical capabilities to aid their human operators. With Rangers being planned to deploy with humans, they are extremely subservient. Designated overseers receive unparalleled obedience. Rangers will sacrifice themselves without thought and actively defend their operator's until their 'death'.

G-031 was given to NT as a sample model NT was not overly impressed at the start. Depending on the record of G-031 or the other 11 Rangers, NT may eventually pursue their purchase. G-031 is not a special example or high performing, but has been active for only a few months, Ranger 'Goel' is adjusting to a new environment and accepting new responsibilities. Even though he is synthetic, he misses the comradeship he held with his fellow Ranger G's and will attempt to reestablish that bond.

What do you like about this character? 'Goel' is desperate to make 'friends' but must follow his inbuilt programming. He will follow orders to a T but might apologize as he executes that as he wants to be friends and liked by all.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8, my characters I currently have a well developed and maintaining character is pretty easy and common. That said, I will be the first to admit I can get frustrated with things and start to just do things myself when I am frustrated with how things are going.

Notes: Please?

While I've played with you before, and you seem to do well, I see two issues with this application:

1. If there's minimal space left on their positronic brains for emotional gubbins, why is Goel desperate to make friends?

2. A security, engineering, and medical IPC in one is way too much. I suggest you pick one of the three, or all three but you may only exercise one at a time.

hey, i do have a few points also,

Positronic brains are not cheap, for cheap, mass produced robo servants, you go with the robotic board, which as of yet, does not fit in Integrated Positronic Chassis' you are applying for.

the way the story is worded, the design seem to be a military robot, which may prove useful in fighting off boarding hostile parties, but for the main bulk of security work, pretty irrelevant, coupled with being 'cheap' and mass produced, it would seem like it would cause a lot of issues when interacting with crewmembers, especially during arrests.

enhanced combat and minor engineering and medical capabilities

this is a bit vague, how much "minor engineering and medical" do they know? honestly i do not want to see robot officers hacking through doors and repair breaches then moving on to clone people. if they're cheap with minimal space, as cake stated, how did they managed to stuff all that information? most IPCs are generalized into on department to keep efficiency at maximum at their current assignment.

designed with minimal positronic space for emotions

Even though he is synthetic, he misses the comradeship he held with his fellow Ranger G's and will attempt to reestablish that bond.

'Goel' is desperate to make 'friends' but must follow his inbuilt programming. He will follow orders to a T but might apologize as he executes that as he wants to be friends and liked by all.

this does not seem like minimal emotions. why is a combat oriented robot looking to make friends? most AIs that are made to be mass produced are shallow at best and dumb most of the time. at least going off old baseline lore, don't think that changed much. aaand cake already noted this, but im also asking.

im a bit skeptical because this rises a bunch of flags and leads me to imagine bipolar mary sue robot who will ruthlessly kill valids with his combat and engineering skills while getting emotional over his friends and fixing them up with his medical skills. while this is a bit of an exaggeration, it has happened in the past.
