BanjaLuka
BYOND key: BanjaLuka Character names: Dragan Grgurovic, a few others I rarely use How long have you been playing on Aurora?: I have beenregularly playing here for a few months. I'm not sure exactly how long, though Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: A lot of times, the medical department is understaffed or has far too many doctors and no chemists or people who know virology. Even when it is properly staffed, a lot of times the players aren't as efficient as is necessary. Why did you come to Aurora?: It's a high RP server that isn't dead, a Vore server, or Paradise Station. I like less hectic gameplay than most medium RP and almost all low RP servers offer. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay, to me, is based more on realism. It enforces a behavior that is more realistic than that of low RP servers. You are to act in a way that is more practical, realistic, and responsible than on a low RP server. It also is important to keep metaknowledge to a minimum. A doctor shouldn't also be a Kung-Fu master who builds robots and repairs space stations in his off-time. You are also allowed the time and ability to develop a character that you've come up with, instead of constantly running away from assistants with firearms. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose of a Head of Staff varies slightly depending on the head in question, but the CMO's most important (in my opinion) purpose is to fill holes in the department. If the department lacks qualified individuals of a certain job, the CMO should fill them and perform the job as efficiently as a well-trained staff member of that job. Second, the CMO ought to be able to assist and mentor people who are not as knowledgeable or experienced as they are. If mistakes are made, they ought to be able to correct them, if possible. Third, in busier or higher-stress times, they ought to be able to give orders and keep the medbay from falling apart at the seams. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: As earlier stated, they should be able to inform and help players who do not know quite as much as they do to make them better at their job and the game in general. They should also provide examples of how to properly behave and perform their duties on a server that expects more of its players than many others. In so many words, they are a more IC equivalent of mentors that some servers have. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Dragan Grgurovic Character age: 45 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): In 2414, Grgurovic was born to a not-particularly wealthy family. Despite his misleading name, he is not from anywhere in former Yugoslavia, but was born in the North American Confederation, in the southeast of what was once the United States. His early life was more or less standard, and filled with little of interest, negative or positive. He performed well academically, especially in the field of languages; he spoke English as his native language, but picked up Sol Common and Tau Ceti Basic through exposure and German and Gutter through interest. Despite his linguistic ability, he had no interest in using it for a career. He performed well on most standardized testing, and essentially picked a career at random: medicine. He attended a local college and medical school and performed relatively well, receiving his medical doctorate in the standard amount of time. After finishing his residency in a short time of three years, he had trouble finding employment at his home, so through a bit of networking, he managed to get a spot as a Medical Doctor for NanoTrasen in 2444. While there, he went through a fellowship learning more about surgery and medical practice on non-humans. While not initially trained in chemistry or virology, he picked them up from years of exposure while working for Nanotrasen. While not necessary, he studied for his Doctorate of Pharmacy, more or less just to have a qualification on paper. After fifteen years of practicing for NanoTrasen and serving as temporary Chief Medical Officer several times, he has finally decided to petition his higher-ups for the position. What do you like about this character?: He's relaxed and humorous. Even when he does take things seriously and shift into higher gears, he doesn't portray it and continues to attempt to keep the mood light, with varying results. What do you dislike about this character?: His dry humor, sarcasm, and exaggeration can, at times, get him into trouble with security and higher ups. Things said in jest have nearly gotten him in trouble with security, and can be taken as seriously by people who don't pick up on his idiosyncrasies. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Simply put, his ability to do the jobs in Medbay well. He frequently steps in for chemistry and, less frequently, virology. He takes time to inform, train, and show around new employees and interns. In my opinion, the two most important things a head of staff can do. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'm not sure, frankly, I avoid metaknowledge, behave realistically, and keep my character static; which is the least I can do, and the most important. I don't know how much above and beyond I go, though. Extra notes: N/A Edited June 27, 2017 by Guest Link to comment
Pratepresidenten
I can remember the first few times I saw you in medical, chucklefucking around with your friend (Whos name I cant recall), hiding yourselves in body bags on the front desk table, labling bodybags with Sovno's name on it and putting it outside the CMO's door, being an absolute fuckwit I had to suspend on several occations. But.. That being past, I have to say you've really made something of yourself in medical. A stable, reliable member of the team that knows what you're doing. Gonna hit you up with a +1 my man, because to be honest, I think you've earned a shot at command. Link to comment
