DrHer0z
BYOND key: DrHer0z Character names: Elizabeth Marikawa, Jumin Williams How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About a week now. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Aurora is by far the most fun and interesting server I've seen thus far in my many years of playing on BYOND. I'd like to experience all it has to offer! Why did you come to Aurora?: A friend on BYOND recommended the server to me and I find it far more interactive and I love the community far better than the previous servers I've been on. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: I've been reading the wiki like a fine novel, all the way down to the lore. Job qualifications match my characters age and experiences as well. Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay in my sense is the ability to provide a fun and realistic experience to not only yourself but also the other players. Examples of this include interacting with other people's story lines, communicating well with others and reacting realistically to station situations and threats. Not everyone is a gun-blazing hero and shouldn't be expected to act like it. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, in-game?: The main purpose is to ensure everyone has a chance to enjoy the round by fulfilling your duties relevant to your job. It is also important to communicate well with the admins and moderators since technically you are (in a sense) playing as an extension of them as an in-game character. Relaying any bannable or rule-breakage to them. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Being a whitelisted player means that you were trusted to uphold the server rules by playing as important characters in-game. Obviously, I would put the server rules first while playing any important role, it is crucial to do this to make sure all players are able to enjoy the game equally no matter their job/position. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well-articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Elizabeth Marikawa Character age: 35 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Elizabeth Marikawa, born on an exploration ship just after the discovery of the Tajaran homeworld. She has lived most of her life in deep-space. Never knowing her true parents she was brought up aboard a Nanotrasen flagship as the captain's Daughter living on the outer rim of the Sol System. Miss Marikawa experiences the first jump through one of the newly constructed Bluespace gates however, due to a miscalculation while coming out of blue space; looses the only father she's known in a fatal collision with a derelict asteroid mining station. She is jettisoned from an escape pod and later rescued by a scavenger ship. After several years she manages to convene with a Nanotrasen colony and is awarded a medal of honor for her bravery and her loss. She spends the next several years in training to pick up where her father left off as the proud captain of a Nanotrasen Station. What do you like about this character?: What's not to like would be easier to ask (oh wait that's the next question), in short, I love her spirit and can-do attitude. She is very charismatic in my opinion and easily rallies those to her cause by giving cries of honor and valor and to go where no civilization has gone before. What do you dislike about this character?: She can be brutally honest sometimes and that does drive people to think she is self-righteous. But she merely wants the best for everyone. She also tells very bad puns, they're so bad... What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: She is an interesting character, to say the least. Very talkative and job oriented. There isn't a time when she isn't doing something to better the station. Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Out of 10? I'm going to have to go with 11. I really love it, it's a bit unhealthy. However, in all seriousness. Depending on the character I choose I really immerse myself in their outlook and backstory while maintaining a constant play style and keep from straying too far out of it. This allows a more stable character and allows people to expect certain reactions regarding my character. Extra notes: Thanks for taking the time to read my app, and thanks for the amazing server as well! <3 Link to comment
Azande
I'd suggest playing for about a month before going through with this app. I dont recognize your character names at all, and I play daily, so I cannot comment on any behaviour. However, being a Head of Staff on Aurora requires good knowledge of all our regulations, CCIA set policies and Station Directives, and furthermore requires acceptable interpretations of such. Playing longer and as an interim Head in some rounds (Talk to the Captain) will bring you lots of success in the application process Link to comment
DrHer0z
We may be in different time zones, I'm not online all day. Mostly just in the mornings/early afternoons. Oh and thanks for the advice, I didn't consider being an interim head! I'll continue reading up on the rules and regulations as well and if it takes a month, it takes a month. Regardless, this server is great fun! Link to comment
Faris
Application Denied. Some of the issues here is the lack of feedback and that the background isn't very healthy in regards to our lore. It's very beneficial for members of command to be aware about the setting. Do note you're also permitted to advertise the application once every round via the OOC chat on the server. Feel free to contact me on Discord or the forums for a more in depth explanation. Link to comment
