SpiffyFishface Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm not sure how this would work on a technical level, but I've always thought that the bar should have a jukebox in it. For what it's worth, it would at least fit the scene of the bar, because I've seen that Bars usually tend to have some sort of music player for the patrons. If there was a way to actually make it play music without making it go throughout the whole station though, that'd be boss.
Carver Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Sounds neat, but at the same time /really annoying/, unless there's a way to mute the thing clientside. (Which I'd bet would be even more annoying than implementing a jukebox in the first place [Though one could just implement being able to break the thing by smacking it, and have it unrepairable, t'would be a very crude way to implement a 'mute'])
Dea Tacita Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 This was a thing in Athena code for a time, and Bay code too for awhile I think. It's troublesome to code (I think anyway) but it is possible
Nik Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 This is one of those things that gets suggested a billion times, but nobody wants to bother making it work. For obvious reasons, it's REALLY annoying to get it working. Apparently. I'd like it as well, but then you'd just hear Trolololo or some rubbish joke song that gets put on every other shift. The IC concern is that, lacking actual music from this timeframe, we'd only have music that is anywhere from hundreds to thousands of years old. Which doesnt make much sense, honestly. I suppose you could write some lore about the music industry dying, or some thing.
