In-Game/Lore Policy Clarification on Security Vests and when to Wear them [Implemented]

I don't think we should force them to wear it. I view this the same as hardhats and such.

 

Right. An engineer 'should' wear their hardhat.

A security officer 'should' wear their vest.

It's not required at all on this station. But it gives you protection from an accident or situation should it happen. How far you'll go with the emphasis is up to you guys. As long as it says 'you can' or 'you could' that's enough to officially allow the armor on green.

To say 'should' is to encourage it. As though you're unprepared without it.

This is the important part. While it is satisfactory, have you considered swapping out "can wear" to "should wear?" As in, you 'should' wear your vest, for its protection? This encourages its use, but is not a hard 'must'.

 

It's a choice. It's not mandatory. It does not seem necessary to hold every officer's hands to dress them. They can wear it if they want or they can not wear it if they want. It's code green it is not a big deal. We have to assume officers are smart enough to wear a vest if they feel they should.
