Off-Duty ERT

Hello, me again. I’ve been thinking about making a Character who’s in the ERT. I’m even gonna put in a custom app for a ERT Jacket and Holster. But anyways if I were to make the character what kind of jobs would he have? Would he be able to play as any job (If he has the correct education and requirements to do the job obviously)

Or would he have to be a visitor whenever he’s on the station?

You could potentially board as off-duty ERT but you would likely get bwoinked if you tried to fight Antags. As for jobs I don't think you're allowed to be off-duty ERT/Ex-ERT except in specific circumstances like HoS, and only for the latter case.

To my understanding, ERT are not employees of the NanoTrasen Corporation. They are contracted mercenaries, in this context, Phoenix Team. There is no real reason to play yourself off as one unless you intend to stop being a character that appears on the Station, and "ex-ERT" are ex-Mercenaries who likely wouldn't have the legal qualifications (Potentially Security experience though) to be a Head of Security on a NanoTrasen installation. They aren't law officers, they're paramilitary responders.

If you want to be a space marine, do what everyone else does and make a Sol Marine veteran. B)

I was told characters cannot be ERT. I tried to go ERT as a HoS character of mine once, and was forced to change name and given informal warning not to do it again.
