Sebbe Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 So we all know the ins and outs of the Diona's lore and something struck me the other day as sort of weird. Why can a giant ball of cat sized plant-abominations be recognised without an ID? Yes clothing and such is a good indicator for who the Diona is and what their job is but without an ID they should not be able to be recognized by just looking at them if we ignore the clothing as they literally do not have any distinguishable features, including their voice they are totally unrecognizable from each other except in mannerism and structure of how they speak the voices themselves being the same for all Diona. I suggest making it so a Diona without their ID/PDA on their ID slot are shown as "Unknown" instead of showing their name. Yes this is a buff but remember we are talking about someone walking at 2/3 of the speed of a human that also only have around half of the equipment slots any other species have (Do not change that though, I love the limit) As always this is my opinion and I welcome any and all discussion about this, feel free to put a comment about anything related to the subject. -Sebbe
Kaed Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 I don't know if I'd call that a buff, really. There aren't so many diona that them not having identity without a name tag would allow them to blend in

TishinaStalker Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Why can a giant ball of cat sized plant-abominations be recognised without an ID? ...do not have any distinguishable features, including their voice... Because the players can do things to make their Diona unique through plant life growing on their person. You're totally wrong there too. Diona are biological life too, even if they're an amalgamation of it through other nymphs, they're not all 100% carbon copies of each other. Unless something explicitly says otherwise in Diona lore that I missed.

You are correct in that the wiki does not state whether or not nymphs look the same, it goes into detail about the organs and such instead. I will assume that as with all other plants on our planet a nymph will look different based on the habitat it grew in, if it had a lot of sunlight while blooming or next to none instead growing for millenia while it gathers light from the distant stars. If it had soil rich in nutrients making it form a stronger and more solid nymph or if the seeds attached themselves to rocks, depending on the gasses in the air to survive or simply the sun alone. There are many variables and I agree fully with you that they could be recognisable but at the current moment based on lore and mechanics they are identical outside of flavor text and names Feel free to dispute my points as they are my own opinion and up for debate ^^ -Sebbe
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Nymphs look and sound different due to differences in their appearances. As do gestalts.
