Azande Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Hi. With the new finance page on the wiki being release by jackboot, the following is listed: Command SalaryCommand level positions earn 572 credits a day, or 4004 a week. These roles include Captain, Head of Personnel, Chief Engineer, Chief Medical Officer, Research Director, and Head of Security, and Internal Affairs Agent. Due to the Captain having significantly more responsibility, and having already served as a head of staff or IAA before taking on the job as Captain - they should probably get a higher paycheck than a regular head of staff or IAA. I might even go so far as to say IAA, HoS and HoP should get less than the CE/RD/CMO because the latter have PhDs and are literal experts in their fields, but let us focus on the captain's pay for now. Asheram Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 As an aside, what's the Bigmac index on... let's say, Biesel? How much is a credit really worth? Because I'm going to assume that everything we purchase on Aurora is marked up a lot Edit: I know this is the wrong place to ask lore questions, but are Credits a corp currency that Nanotrasen is backing, or is it a legit currency?

It's legit currency.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Done. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Finances#Captain_Salary Eventually players will choose their salary based on these options, so I wanted to make them as concise as possible, but I can see the need for a specialized field for captain.

Conversion rate, adjusted for inflation, to the late 20th century USD ($) is 3 credits to 1 dollar. That means 3 credits in 2458 has the same buying power as $1 in 2016. Another way of thinking about it is, credits are 33 cents 2016 USD. Or, five-credit coffee is $1.66. Please bear in mind that using this for hard conversion on the price of everything will just confuse and infuriate you since there is 400 years of economic development here. Blank slate.

That's... quite a rough salary for the civilians, assuming 8 hour shifts. A cup of ramen is almost what you make in an hour, and it's not what I'd call a full meal I will admit that the insurance is decent though. Does Nanotrasen provide affordable lodging as well? Edit: Ah! nevermind me, I found it in Economy.

Edit: Ah! nevermind me, I found it in Economy. Yes, some basic goods and staples are marked up to incredible degrees, but in other areas we have crazy good benefits and cheap services we take for granted. The galactic economy changed basically everything about the economy and pricing. Logistics and economic policy have evolved in 400 years. 400 years ago, in the 1600's it would cost the equivalent of $20 a pound for cinnamon for most Europeans.
