Burrito Justice Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Ckey/BYOND Username: Burrito Justice (burritojustice) Position Being Applied For: Wiki Maintainer Past Experiences/Knowledge: I've maintained two other SS13 server wikis, one being FTL13 (583 edits, wiki curator/admin) and the other being VOREStation (457 edits, non-staff). Examples of Past Work: Most of what I did on FTL13 was small corrections, but my focus was on map locations and fixing guides if they were brought to my attention. For VOREStation I cleaned up job/race pages, overhauled/made a few guides, and tried my best to keep them up to date. My biggest wiki project was overhauling the Guide to Medicine. FTL13: https://ftl13.com/wiki/index.php?title=Locations VOREStation: https://wiki.vore-station.net/Guide_to_Medicine // https://wiki.vore-station.net/Surgery // https://wiki.vore-station.net/Vasilissans Additional Comments: My aim is going to be similar to what I did on VOREStation, mostly just guide/page overhauls among other things, though I imagine having access to a wiki channel will grant me a more fluid means of keeping track of what needs to be maintained.
Faris Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 You played a bit five months ago though not for long and recently came back, never saw you so I can't judge on how you are. I asked around and both those servers had good things to say about you.
Burrito Justice Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 I believe that was around the time that the new map went up? Either way, it was highpop and greytide kept going medical positions and screwing everything so I left. I plan to stay longer this time around.
Chada1 Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 This application has a great deal of promise, especially looking at your previous projects. I'll be processing it soon. The one thing that worries me is your lack of presence in the Community as a whole. You've been here afew times but from what Abo has said you haven't played here a whole lot yet. This doesn't disqualify you, but it means i'll have to ask you some questions. Can I trust you to test out mechanics and get decent gameplay experience in the guides that you write? - This one is very important mostly noting your short time in the community, however the other Maintainers can look over your work and help you flesh it out if needed. Can I expect you to resign as opposed to disappearing in the event that you chose to leave? - This is just as important for the above reasons.
Burrito Justice Posted March 14, 2018 Author Posted March 14, 2018 Can I trust you to test out mechanics and get decent gameplay experience in the guides that you write? Absolutely. VORE/Polaris is a Baystation branch much like Aurora, so I'm already familiar with a lot of the mechanics. For Aurora-specific content I'll do my best to research the intricacies of them, whether by safely testing in a private server or looking through the code. I believe it may also be a good idea to join the job-specific discords to get community input on key elements to mention in a guide. Can I expect you to resign as opposed to disappearing in the event that you chose to leave? Admittedly I did this on FTL13, and I realize that's kinda a butt thing to do and it never really crossed my mind. I'll be sure to inform you if I choose to depart as well as my reasoning as to why.
Chada1 Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 With those questions out of the way, and these reassurances, I feel comfortable accepting this application. Application accepted, though you'll have to wait a little bit still for your wiki account to be made, and for you to be invited to the Staff Discord. I'm okay with this thread being locked and archived. I'll get into contact with you soon.
