Baka
BYOND Key: Bakagaijin Character Names: Samantha Mason, Mauve Foliage, Maxwell Mason, Gregory Mason How long have you been playing on Aurora: 4 months Species you are applying to play: Tajaran What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blue-Grey Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Tajarans are impressive on this server, from an outsider's perspective looking in to the tajaran roleplaying community. Their lore is pretty interesting and well written, their mannerisms are very unique, and their game mechanics are pretty cool as well. Overall it seems like a race I want to challenge myself with playing. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Tarjaran speaks in the third person with a roll in their "r"'s. For example, instead of saying, "Can I have an ice cream sandwich", it would be "Can Aisha have ice crrream sandwich?" They have Arabic and Slavic themed names as well. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? I simply want to try playing a species I never considered before. The way others portrays their tajarans is fascinating, and I simply want to try it out. I also, as always, want to try to give interesting roleplay to the server. Character Name: Abbas El-Hashem Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Born before human discovery, Abbas lived with his mother, sister, and grandfather on a farm. His grandfather raised livestock and butchered the meat to sell for money. Abbas picked up the trade when he was 10 in order to help out with his family. During the revolt, their farm was burnt to the ground, and Abbas's family became gypsies, basically going to different towns that haven't crumbled from the war to look for work and shelter. Abbas helped his grandfather til the lands of more fortunate tajarans, while his sister and mother would work in the kitchen cooking for the workers. He worked from sun up to sun down, all for his family. Abbas for years picked up simple service jobs for his family. He mainly worked with growing food for selling. He sometimes also worked in kitchens, cooking for wealthier families, learning the trade of food service. When he was old enough and when NanoTrasen opened their doors to Tajaran, Abbas signed on with an application to become a cook. He knew of the dangers of working in space, but he mainly wanted to provide for his sister who lives with him, and promised his now deceased mother and grandfather that he will take care of her as long as he lives. He dreams of a life with his sister back in Adhomai, living once again on a farm, yearning for simpler, peaceful times. What do you like about this character? Abbas is a simple zhan-khazan tajaran who just wants to get work done. He comes into work to feed the masses, and he leaves at the end of the day with a paycheck. He's an older tajaran, and has mellowed out over the years, although he still is pretty tense and doesn't want to give lip to anyone he suspect to be a higher rank than him. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I try my best, but I don't think I do a bad job. But you can be guarrranteed this one can adapt to the tajarrrran speech patterrrn. Notes: Any constructive criticism for my character's story is appreciated. Thank you very much for reading my application. Link to comment
