In pursuit of transparency

Often times its easier said than done, but i still try to at least make an effort. I do not like when issues or grievances are not aired by staff and players a like. I am more interested in tackling them and gauging them. Shadow and i are very much cut from the "get shit done" cloth and as head administrators i think we will go far. So, this is your chance. Any issue you have large or small i would like you to post it here. I promise that i will personally reply to it, and give my thoughts on it.

Communication has always been a two way road. Lets try and keep the cobble from getting too cracked yeah?

One thing that has always bothered me is not communication between staff and players but communication between the staff themselves regarding how to deal with something, on more then one occasion I've ahelped about something and had it dealt with but on ahelping about a similar thing later have another staff member say that it's fine.

Of course everyone is going to have their own methods to deal with something but the occasional 'no you can't do that' and then someone else saying 'yes you can do that' tends to raise the question of if I really feel like dealing with that when I'm in a similar situation.

A chunk of the problem is when we PM someone about an issue and they say another staff member cleared it they cant remember who it was. We are all on a staff discord so its normally fairly easy to check with someone if we know who it is. If we do not know who it was it becomes a guessing game of "ok who among you cleared this and why?". Another part of the problem is when a more lackadaisical staff member (like me) clears a silly gimmick on a dead hour extended round but it becomes a much bigger problem at high pop with fifty five people on.

I do not really have an easy solution for you, since there isnt one. We only really document instances where we punish players or tell them not to do something. Although it might be possible to establish some form of notation for more controversial decisions. I can probably bring this up in the next staff meeting honestly. Anyway, in the mean time it helps to remember the staff members name. The rest is our problem.
