Taking a role of a head of staff is not just about "lol i better get muh ruleplay exparaince upgraded to edgelord, i cudd alzo tech new players somthing st00pid". It's common sense to realize you're taking a role that can empower other players and ruin their rounds possibly, you've stated you've been for a couple of months and that Aurora is your first server, which I believe you just joined. Have you seen how other departments work? Have you seen how other departments been ran by other heads of staff? Do you think, for example, you're able help out other departments as a CMO with basic knowledge? Do you THINK you can handle a chaotic station even if you are for example, a chief engineer? You're taking command staff, do you honestly think you can contribute for everyone's fun regardless if antags are partaking? Everything has to be planned and done correctly almost all of the times, otherwise, we'll get more rampaging lesbian CMO's, edgelord Head of Security's, militant Chief Engineers, validhunting selfish Research Directors and captains who dissapear like dust somewhere and can't communicate enough. Also almighty all-access HoP's. Enlighten me and you'll have my support, there is a peacenuke round going on, you're the only command staff, Chief Medical Officer. What will you do when these intruders come in with DO accessories and state they're "inspecting" the station, without jumping the gun saying "ur not dooty officurs!" but making everything interesting?

The real question is: why not. These two roles serve for the best of your authentic spessmen experience, or at least let Aurora Station have entertainment employees, WITH HONKING included.

Going to comment on another problem, admin interventions. from one of other threads. Antagging has a large issue when staff gets involved, I remember Callum wizardbanning me for stunning and fireballing Sue for lasering me with no words spat out, simply just "lol fuck you, kosing you lad". Reason? "GANK AND POWERGAME". Rules need to be tweaked for antagging and making complaints tbh, I'm in a "thin ice" whilst others are enjoying bombing security and shit flat out. There will always be favouritism to one another, hence' we get problems with players leaving and being fucking dicks to each other. And that is the biggest problem, people favouriting one another, people metagrudging each other. If some staff members can't man up and punish their favourable snowflake, then it'll grow as an example to others.

You don't have to know everything completely, but you should know how each department is being run. I'd heavily suggest playing engineer apprentice some rounds, hell, maybe as an medical intern and security cadet too.

I'd rather not make a head of staff application with limited and basic skills of running a department(not being able to fill paperwork, doing most of the job yourself and ignoring most of times what's going on in your department and other departments with no heads of staff. All you basically do is just tell one person do a thing, that's not what I'd like to always expect.) You have to work with the ENTIRE station, not just your own stuff. I don't want bullshit "i wanna be head of staff cuz more roleplay experience" excuses, I want to see more from mechanics knowledge, self-awareness, being most of times always correct(and even if you are wrong, take it like a fucking man and don't metagrudge like rest do with their "u disraspect me m8, demoted and fired lol" reasons.) Being a head of staff is not really all shits and giggles, you take a higher power in game and can ruin other players round and fun, which almost entire head of staff whitelist holders fail to understand. From rampaging lesbian chief engineers/CMO's, to long forgotten Captains/Head of Security's who really do nothing in round and their corpses are found in lockers because they can't communicate, to validhunting selfish research directors. This is almost what I see every round. If you could give me a promise, of not being a shit head of staff, you'll have my upvote.
