  1. Well, that was fast. Good thing I got the main stuff. Unease. Willsh doesn't trust them. "Real, loyal skrell who shoot for the stars can only be born in the Federation. Otherwise they will be corrupted by alien knowledge and culture." - that sounds like something they would say. But not because they hate aliens, it's simply that they're scared for young generation with no real control. I would say Willsh doesn't really see the difference between those who fled the Federation and those who were born outside of it. There is only difference in their thoughts about possible danger: refugees are dangerous right now and skrells born outside of the Federation will be dangerous later, if no action will be done. There should be control, Willsh thinks. And if they had to work with them... Well, it depends. If those skrell got a job on SCC flagship, they shouldn't be that bad, right? They did interact with various Dionae in the Qukala, and they are proven to be great, supportive workers who can do their job. Yes, they're alien, but the Federation did a great job integrating them in the society. So, Willsh likes them. But Vaurcae - not so much. C'thur is a very new power in hands of the Federation, and Willsh tends to think that their "high queen" would be a great problem if it would be healthy. But as for now, Vaurcae are more "good" than "bad". As for other hives, Willsh doesn't know much about them expect for basics, so they are very careful about them. The thing that Willsh dislikes the most is politics. During their time in Depth-College they were planning to get into it, but, while getting a third degree in Astronomy, they realised they won't get very high in their homeworld. There was something about space that made them join the Qukala. Maybe they wanted to serve their homeworld by defending it in the borders? After careful consideration, Willsh joined the Qukala and was not dissapointed. They wanted to protect their home by being far away from it. And that is also what made them join the adventure of Horizon. It is a popular ship of powerful SCC that can impact the whole universe. And maybe, while directing it, Willsh will make the Jargon Federation look better in the eyes of the aliens, as well as the skrell outside of it. Yes, they were the only child. And a very precious child for their normal-sized (for skrell) familiy, perhaps even more precious then to any other skrell. The influence of their mentors and caretakers was the main reason Willsh got first two degrees in history and law, and Willsh is grateful for it. They do not have a quya of their own as for now, because that is something that should be decided with a very, very careful consideration. Though WIllsh was an object of interest by other skrell. They were a pilot of a military multipurpose fighter Eyrixoq, becoming a leader of their 3-member crew. This crew created a good connection with eachother, becoming one of the best-performing crews in battles against maradeurs. Even though some higher-ups of Qukala advised Willsh to increase the number of the crew, they refused, explaining it with the fact that current connection between the members of a figher is already perfect and would be damaged with a fourth member. This combat performance is also why Willsh has a high social credit score. They feel guilty for leaving Qukala just before the attack of Admiral Beauchamp. Of course, the Qukala won the battle, but Willsh and their crew could make it easier and get more recognition. But, on the other hand, learning about the SCC before joining it on the Horizon payed off. These events proved that some humans are more chaotic than the others, because of lack of control. Welp, that's it. Thank you for asking more questions, they really did help making the character more interesting for me and, hopefully, for other players.
  2. BYOND Key: Ershovdi Character Names: Ka'Akaix'Sotis C'thur, a Vaurca Scientist who is a gamer. Za'Akaix'Rang Zo'ra, a Zo'leth veteran of Lii'dra invasion on Tau Ceti - also a security member. Jribekk Drajulmir, a normal, chilled Zhan-Khazhan Tajara who happens to work in the engineering department. and other characters that I do not play and noone knows them, and it's better to stay this way ;D Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Dark Blue Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Skrell live a long time. Sometimes five hundred years. This makes them able to create very long, complex plans that will continue to grow for centuries, resulting in some crazy stuff like becoming an idol for the whole species. My first character will be from the Jargon Federation. While I don't like the concept of government going as far as creating a thought police, playing a character that I, myself, might hate - sounds fun as hell. Also, I love psyonics and telepathy, and on Aurora that's something very special. Never seen anything close to Skrell psyonics, maybe I should read more. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I think it's the conflict between those who are influenced by the brainwashing government and those who are influenced by "indomitable human spirit". This can lead to some conflicts with other skrells and species in-game. Not to mention the synthetics. "Glorsh-Omega was a mistake! Do not trust this IPC even if the human in danger might die!!" - that's the stuff I wanna scream. Also I want to mention the emotions of skrell - they are hard to understand because all skrell use their headtails to compensate for weird facial muscles placement. Character Name: Willsh-Qabe Juxeq Please provide a short backstory for this character. Willsh is an Axiori skrell born in year 2310 on Qerrbalak in Ucra Region, becoming a skrell of the Supernova Era. Seeing only the consequences of Tri-Qyu Calamity in their young age, they were challenged with restoring the fractured Jargon Federation. And what is the main force that will return normal life to Skrell? In Willsh's opinion it was manual labour. Their late-age Ukutanii was mixed with the pressure of hard times, as well as their other moments of education. By taking humans in the consideration, Willsh decided to get to the higher level of knowledge, moving themselves towards three skrell degrees: first in history, second in law, and third in astronomy, becoming a Star Graduate of the Gliutip'lyaz University. Realising that there won't be any breakthroughs from Willsh in science, they decided to pursue their carrer in Qukala after looking at the results of their psyonic capabilities test. Yes, they were a great reciever, and that was of the deciding factors when becoming a Star Enforcer and climbing up the ranks. Their time in Qukala forces made Willsh make an addition to their name -Qabe, showing a feeling of respect to one of their ship captain who was almost an idol of order and discipline for Willsh. Willsh-Qabe became quite popular in Qukala for their knowledge of history and how they always applied it to present work. However, when the Phoron Scarcity kicked the universe right in the gut, Willsh contacted with the SCC, becoming a member of the Bridge Crew of SCCV Horizon. The Jargon Federation fully trusts Willsh-Qabe and their capabilites as a pilot of an important vessel. What do you like about this character? It's an Axiori skrell who is also a pilot - I always wanted to create a Bridge Crew character. Willsh-Qabe is also a Jargon Federation lover, and the Federation loves them too. I think it will be fun to roleplay as a very professional and smart ex-Qukala pilot who got thrown into a completely new envirnoment. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Just fine. Notes: Just some minor character details. Willsh is a follower of Qeblak, but never got into the clergy because of the hard work in Qukala, but they do follow basic doctrines and they believe that knowledge is the most valuable thing there can be. Willsh hates synthetics, but somewhat trusts the humans in their control - it wouldn't be very good if a member of the Bridge Crew had problems with one of the essential parts of the ship. This hate gives an opportunity for Diona and Vaurca to be loved by Willsh-Qabe for their love to labour and work. Willsh has a social credit score of 7.5. Willsh loves Homeworld: Invasion for it's gameplay, but doesn't actually like the lore of the game - humans are enemies in it, and Willsh respects humans.
  3. Okay, got it. Jribekk relates to the Moderate Al'mariist school of thought the most. He thinks it's the most simple, peaceful and logical school of thought that does not necesserally destroy other political views and gives freedom for Tajara, while also protecting off-world Tajara. He is running from Adhomai. Biesel Space is one of the least xenophobic places in the known universe and it's kind of a center of the xeno-society where you most certainly *will* find work if you have an education and experience. Overall, Jribekk wants to make his life more safe and interesting at the same time. Being on Adhomai does not give any of those things - it's in the constant state of some kind of war - a cold one, or a bloody one. That's what Jribekk thinks, of course.
  4. BYOND Key: Ershovdi Character Names: - Ka'Akaix'Sotis C'thur - A very meme-able C'thur Vaurca scientist. - Thadeus Proteus - Based investigator on break. Species you are applying to play: Zhan-Khazhan Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Dark Gray, RGB (0,0,0). Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, it is very interesting, for a furry xeno race. It is very detailed and worked out, but it took me a long time to read everything. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I love the chaotic nature of Tajara as a race. Some may even think that Tajaras are all about cold war, revolution and freedom. I don't really like the fact that they're basically big antropomorphic cats, that makes them silly to play, but the lore is so good it's worth it. It gives a lot of opportunities for a lot of different character concepts. Almost every Tajara character on the server is very different from each other. One day you can meet a cute, fluffy cat that likes nature, and on the other day you meet a ruthless lion that hates all Hadiists. Something like that. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, obviosly, it's the chaotic nature of all the Tajarans. They're are the only xeno-race in the universe that is so divided and immature, I would say. If we're talking about mechanics - Tajaras have a whole lot of languages, they can see in dark (that makes them great spies and saboteurs for antag gimmicks), but they also take and deal more damage. From a side of game design those mechanics make me want to create a freedom fighter. Character name: Jribekk Drajulmir Please provide a short backstory for this character: What do you like about this character?: Jribekk is a DPRA citizen who has a very dark past because of the city he was born in. Crevus is basically Gotham on Adhomai - at least that's how I see it. He is the type of person who will try to justify crime of others and even do crime himself if it's for the right cause. He is also pretty good in engineering - that's who I will play as on the server. His personality can create a lot of interesting situations. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I only do what is fun for me and for the people, while trying to stay in character. My main problem on this server was my broken english. Hell, it's still broken, but I don't feel so bad about it now. Anyhow, I can create interesting situations, I am confident about that. So, you have that. Notes: I AM NOT A FURRY
  5. A user of discord's white theme here. Personally, I don't like ths. It's too dark. Yes, it makes the whole mood more realistic and interesting, but I just can't understand what's where, everything looks... Blurry, I think.
  6. Thanks for the reply. They will probably be a lab assistant for some time, then try to get to the position of a scientist - a perfect job to unravel the deep secrets of Tau Ceti. Being from Jargon Federation's planet Diulszi, Sotis didn't see skrells on the planete as much as he saw his Vaurca comrades, but every interaction with skrells was pleasant. Sotis knows that C'thur hive can compete with other hives only because of skrellian help, and they appreciate it. If Sotis wanted to find some friends from aliens, it would choose the Skrell. I would say he is a follower of Classic (or natural) Hive Pantheon. It's hive is sort of an outsider in the political world of Vaurca and Sotis rejected the Modern Pantheon mostly because they want to stick with the C'thur hive without any pressure from other hives, especially Zo'ra. Sotis sees it's Queens like some sorts of Gods. In the end, Queens gave life to vaurcas, and they should repay them with good work. Sotis is a young Vaurca, but it saw the news. Being from C'thur hive, it thought it was unfair. All of the hives have more support from humans than C'thur and the last year probably was the worst year in C'thur hive history. The mystery of the genetic code original creators is still a mystery, but Sotis wants to believe that the C'thur hive and Skrell are right, yet it can't believe that Zo'ra hive could make such an aggressive move. Looking at the recent act of violence in Flagsdale, Sotis suspects the Zo'ra hive being the mastermind behind all this drama. Sotis is, however, more neutral to the K'lax hive, because C'thur hive and K'lax hive are not so different in the shadow of Zo'ra.
  7. BYOND Key: Ershovdi Character Names: - Thadeus Proteus, an average Biesel citizen who decided to become an investigator. - V1-X451, an average overprotective robot. Species you are applying to play: Vaurca! What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Light blue, (RGB 150, 180, 255), Mouv hive. I'm a Skrell lover as well. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Vaurca seem to me like a complex yet easy to understand race. For me they're like a gateway to all the other races that I want to play as in a future. Their social system is simple and deep, it gives the player a power to create something truly unique and interesting in a way that doesn't require a lot of roleplay experience. Ka Type (the workers) vaurcas are the most flexible for a new player like me, and I've seen a Bound heavily-augmented vaurca who got me like: "Wow, I wanna do something like that too!" Also, I love bugs *a little too much*. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, for me the thing that makes roleplaying as Vaurca different is their life-cycle. They are being born with a pre-destined future, a plan of some kind. They are being created just for their Queen to do a small variety of tasks, almost like synthetics. Vaurcas' life is very different from other species life, even without Virtual Reality. That's why it's hard for them to integrate in any other societies and envirnoments besides their hive - they don't even really understand the concept of freedom. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Sotis C'thur Please provide a short backstory for this character Ka'Akaix'Sotis C'thur is an Unbound Vaurca who came out of C'thur's hive. His lesser queen was Ta’Akaix’Mouv’lek’tanta C'thur, the Recondite Queen. Sotis was created to help their Queen to gather valuable information. At their time in Virtual Reality they showed their talent of navigating trough immense amounts of data from the Hivenet. They were interested in information of any kind, even the most useless, but deep pieces of data were caught by Sotis. After being in their Queen's realm for one year Sotis was destined to become a data-hunter in the real world. They showed great communication abilities because of their confidence in the things they say, while not understanding the social aspect of life. That's why they don't pay attention to racism - they don't really understand what that is. After Queen's decision to expand to the other planets of Jargon Federation, Sotis was one of the few who got sent in the Tau Ceti space. They are "afraid" of the new envirnoment, and will be one of the most careful Vaurcas in human space. Anyhow, Sotis is enjoying worshipping his Queen, because it is her who gave them the gift of life, and this belief makes him going. As for now, they're trying to stick to the Skrells while looking at other species with mild apprehension. What do you like about this character? The thing I like about Sotis is their curiosity in everything new they see, much like Diona. I will be able to be an annyoing, buzzing bug that asks stupid questions while not being too stupid. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I wouldn't say I'm a great roleplayer. I didn't participate in any *real* HRP games, but I have an understanding what's a good roleplay experience is. Overall... Eh, 6 out of 10. I'm just an average Joe, realy. Notes: I am not a fluent English speaker so there might be some mistakes.
  8. You're a nice miner with a funny accent. If this character would exist in real life, I would want to hang out with him. In general - a good, basic character! Keep doing what you're doing 🙂
  9. Probably lost his job after career-crushing cases with xenos. That's why he can be xenophobic sometimes. I should also think about that a little bit more, yeah
  10. I wouldn't really call it naivety, it's most likely that he is incredibly confident in himself, to the level of absurdity sometimes. Yeah, because he's a jobless assistant, basically. I feel like I can screw around more than usual while playing as an assistant. He has no future, no hopes, no dreams, he has nothing, and he is quite young. He is free from most of the fears, because he can cope by joking or thinking that he's a genius, but really? He is not. Atleast when he's an assistant. I'll keep in mind that I need to be a bit more serious, so it wouldn't also break other's people experience. Thank you for your feedback!
  11. Hey, I'm playing as an assistant with a name Thadeus Proteus. Was in the round as a "unionist" when AIs wanted freedom from the corporation. I was annyoing, maybe, I don't know. I'm still new to the server.
  12. As a completely new guy in this community I can tell that I love it. There are no stupid guys with really high self-esteem or people who can't play the game properly. Most of the community is great and supportive players and that's why I love it, yeah.
