  1. Intimidation tactics, is this what you expect in your environment? I told you, once they see you as beans, basil, or something else, they will try and consume you all. I call to the stand, Goolies P. Jefferson @goolie
  2. A fantastic question, PrutteHans, a completely new individual whom I have never interacted with! We will use salt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt
  3. BYOND Key: Huntime Snail BYOND Key: Garnascus Game ID: Nonapplicable Reason for complaint: "While most of us understand that snails are part of the natural world, that doesn't mean we want to share space with them. After all, snails are slimy, ugly, and destructive enough to harm your lawn and garden." -Smith's Pest Management Members of this community, today I come forth to speak to you all and file a 'formal' complaint against that of Garnascus. Who is Garnascus you ask, they are a snail. What is a snail you ask, a seditiously negative activity and ill looking sicko. They are also a common garden pest. Snail diet: Basil Beans Cabbage Dahlia Delphinium Hosta Lettuce Marigolds Veggies Damage(s) caused/not limited to: Affecting crop yield Destruction of aquatic life and filtration equipment Carries of both pathogens and parasites Ugly As you can see, snails are devious and affect the environment in awful ways. They will do the same to this environment. Imagine if they saw Aurora as a basil plant or a bowl of beans, they would destroy you all without care. How does Garnascus fit into this? He is a snail, his profile picture confirms it, he refuses to use the better profile pictures I send him, he is a snail. I rest my case. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: I was told this was an 'illegitimate' complaint, so, the system is against us who stand against SNAILS.
  4. Welcome to the Infirmary, Crusher. For those who are/were concerned about the names being a vote option, of all the responses to the vote if we combine those which went towards Garnascus or Nursie, such still fail to surpass the votes for Crusher, by one vote. Of the 55 response, twenty-eight votes are for Crusher and twenty-seven are for Garnascus or Nursie combined. We have sixteen responses for those within the 'incase you hate them all' category which also fail to overcome the monopoly that Crusher has. Thus, going to say with the upmost confidence that the cat has been fairly named Crusher and I appreciate all your feedback, suggestions, and involvement in this server-wide poll. The cat should be on a PR within the coming four days. This thread may be locked and archived.
  5. Please return to the starting post! The final vote link has been connected and will last two days! Good luck names!
  6. + Here are the present suggestions thus far and two names will already definitely be on the final vote. That being Garnascus and Nursie, please do continue to suggest names or pile on to already suggested names. Garnascus has forced me to have their name on the final vote as payment for having said final vote posted in Aurora announcements. This is why we should unionize and take down management, off with their heads...
  7. The time has come... after a long awaited time... sitting on the edge of your seat... what will the new feline name be in the infirmary... who will decide... will your vote matter? VOTE HERE Votes for a certain NAME may be removed from the total, we encourage you to vote with caution...
  8. On a chilly morning of February 25th, 2022, the Aurora Relay discord sparked into a unionized opinion on medical changes and specifically, the removal of the 'surgeon' position in favor of either have alt-titles or a singular 'physician' title for all. As a participant of the debate on this brisk morning, in favor of the removal and changes I stated quite eloquently that a forum post would be made so those not present in the relay could be involved. Thus, I come to you today my dear friends and colleagues, to request your opinion on the matter in pursuit of a resolution which works for 90% of the medical player base. In all seriousness, the separation of title/duties between physician and surgeon is present to either prevent super-doctors, making other players obsolete, or some archaic sense of importance as surgeons are separate from physicians but have the exact same training. In my opinion, those within the medical profession receive most if not all the same training, education, experience throughout their MD/DO graduate studies, meaning their residency is where specialization takes place. Residency durations change depending on specialization chosen and time dedicated. I fail to see why the experience one would gain in their residency has resulted in two entirely different 'roles' in the Infirmary instead of just having one title for all or alt-titles be available. They have the same education from academia, the experience received should be entirely up to the player and their records/skillset, records which can be viewed by the CMO to determine who should take priority in surgeries each shift, which is part of their job as Infirmary management. Present Options: Alternative titles for one position in medical which has six slots in total, combining the present four that physician has and the two that surgeon has. These alternative titles could be anything including the options trauma physician, surgical specialist, physician, attending physician, surgeon, general practitioner, etc. This can be discussed further as the thread continues and if this option is taken, I would personally limit the titles between two options only for simplicity. Removal of the surgeon position, exchanged for a position in its place which would serve with the title of 'attending physician' or something similar; with fellows or something similar being the general four slot position which would be under the attending in a hierarchy system. Basically, those two would take priority with surgical affairs and would serve as second in command of the Infirmary, as they would be expected to have the largest span of training/experience. I would not enforce an age restriction as an attending would just be fully trained/specialized in their field, which could be surgery, but would assist in the delegation/management of the Infirmary. Thus allowing for two slots to still be present and have priority with handling surgery while not outright making the fellow/general physician position incapable of surgery in an emergency. No alternative title. Six slots in physician. That is it. Your records can state what you specialize in and you can all debate as to who gets the OR next, like a real hospital/surgical environment, which is extremely competitive. Further allowing present CMOs to delegate who gets priority in ORs and establish rotations. Removal of the surgeon position, keep the four slots for physician, add two more slots to medical interns/residents so there can be individuals who play doctors in their residency. While this may seem pointless, to my knowledge the present plan/reasoning is to remove the chart which limits what physicians can/can not do and what surgeons can do. While in the grand-scheme of ensuring there are no 'super doctors' or preventing from surgeons being obsolete, this entire system for lack of better words is stupid. Let it be up to the players to write in their records what their experience is/specialization, for CMOs to read, for management to be had internally ICly, and if super doctors do appear it can be handled by staff on a case by case basis. Having this 'system' which says physicians can repair the heart but can not repair a liver, means they somehow experienced surgical specialization but just forgot large aspects of it in my opinion. I rather see all individuals in the Infirmary (physicians) be equal, with the expertise set forth in records to take priority in an individuals experience, for CMOs to be capable of managing who does what, etc. That or the addition of a hierarchy system where two individuals would be second in command of the Infirmary, have priority to surgical needs as they are the attending physicians, while also allowing for the entire removal of this chart found below so in an emergency or if no attendings are in-round, a physician is not limited by what the wiki says and can try to save a life. If I forgot something to mention, oh well, you may all now commence the debate; may the odds be ever in your favor, happy medical games. P.S. I tagged coders/wiki since those pages and code would need to be changed, just incase either party wishes to add on how simple/complicated this change will be.

Information in red is considered OOC: Welcome to the installment of Elyran Utopia, a personal blog/news thread which, while similar to the news posted by lore staff, is not canon nor should be considered such. Information presented below is based on the present lore but told from the lens of an individual living amongst the Elyran populace, without any idea/insight as to what is occurring behind the galactic scenes. Consider such a blog, thus, not a reliable source of information when considering canonical decisions! By: Shaafia Al-Greiss, Writer (She/Her) 2464 | February 21st Settled within The Serene Republic of Elyra and upon the capital exoplanet of Persepolis exists a plethora of resources, activities, and adventures to bask within. From the glistening scenes of Uthma or the towering heights of The New Ankaran Jewel, we as Elyrans are privileged to bask in a life of boundless opportunities for the sake of enjoyment. However, outside of the capital city and the surrounding beautiful environment(s), on the distant rim of our desert’s phoron fields is Madinant Omraia. A settlement which, while known, rarely visited but aids in providing The Serene Republic with ample Phoron harvests. Yet, amongst the sand dunes lays one of the most compelling outdoor activities on Persepolis, the racing circuits. For those of you unaware or outside of Persepolis, Elyran technology has predominately if not entirely removed the need for wheeled vehicles. Hover-based devices and vehicles are the primary form of transportation, even those in the lower socioeconomic classes can acquire such due to their availability. Nevertheless, wheeled vehicles do remain in the racing circuits as hovering above the sand dunes would undoubtedly be less enjoyable to the viewer. Throughout the annual period, circuit fans and members of their rallies will trek through the expansive deserts of Persepolis (via hover trams/vehicles) to attend the thrilling events. The tracks themselves are, for lack of better terms, nonexistent. The circuit itself consists of a ‘path’ through the desert, the route as to which you derive is entirely up to the driver. The events are remarkably dangerous and due to the expansive range of the dunes around Madinat Omraia, enforcement of any rules may/is difficult. An issue rarely seen or pressed, except for the recent announcements and media coming out of desert mining facilities. Management of Persepolis Phoron-field mining, which is officially an aspect of the formal Elyran government, have made it known of rich deposits near/around the circuit dunes. Desires to expand upon mining operations closer to Madinat Omraia alongside relocation of the racing circuits to a different desert settlement. As depicted above is a high-resolution image of Persepolis phoron-field desert mining outposts; one of the hundreds which, scattered amongst the sands, interconnected beneath the sandstone. Participants of the Persepolis racing circuit have vocally opposed this action/proposal by the Elyran government, claiming that the circuit belongs to Madinat Omraia, and any other location would simply ‘not be the same.’ That tradition has served to generations of drivers sailing, digging, or plowing through the same dunes as their family and a change in such would be a direct insult to the art of circuit racing itself. When asked to comment on the situation, Hussien Munir, driver for the Ashkaimi Anteaters replied, “Life within Elyra is complex. The capital holds so many unique cultures to our society, our defining traits, our identifies. Those in Persepolis live daily, professional, and amazing lives within our utopia, yet still hussle out to the Madinat Omraia dunes to watch the brutal events of circuit racing. While the Ashkaimi Anteaters understand the importance of Phoron in the given galactic crisis, is a cultural crisis not just as important if not more?” No official announcement from the Elyran government nor Parliamentary members has been received, with management of Persepolis Phoron-field mining operations dutifully remaining on the proposal of relocation. Offering to not only cover the cost of relocation but the funds necessary to build new facilities, workshops, and other key necessities to circuit racing. Yet, one thing remains clear, Elyrans enjoy circuit racing. Whether that enjoyment is dependent on the location itself, the racing itself, or a combination of both is undeterminable, at least until the potential relocation. As always, Elyran Utopia does not side with either aspect of this internal affair on our capital exoplanet. We remain steadfast in encouraging all to spread their knowledge on the situation, be aware of changes in their community, and most importantly, enjoy life.

By: Mahdi Khalili, Writer & Graphic Design (They/Them) 2464 | February 17th As-salaam 'alaykum and welcome back to Elyran Utopia. Today, on behalf of readers like you, we bring to the table a topic outside of The Serene Republic. Many of you, the humble readers of our independent news, are alike my fellow staff and I, native Elyran citizens. However, as we witnessed within the past week, events occurring on the galactic scale can drastically impact us and further lead to potential complications for our individual futures. To best combat those future struggles, Elyran Utopia will be using todays post to elect you all in the opportunity of learning about the Peacekeeper Mandate. Spread alongst our borders with the Republic of Biesel, exists a territorial sector separate from Tau Ceti governance. This being, the Corporate Reconstruction Zone, the territorial designation for all star systems outside of Tau Ceti’s gravity well yet occupied by the Republic of Biesel. Like the experiences we as Elyrans faced with our ancient separation from the Sol Alliance, the systems within the Corporate Reconstruction Zone, abandoned by the crumbling Alliance, left to their own devices/management. As one can imagine, drastic failures occurred across all systems simultaneously, whether such was debate on coordination, beliefs, trade, etc. Tragically, this is not the first time the Sol Alliance has spread their expanse to only succumb to injuries and leave their compatriots to fend alone. Luckily, the Republic of Biesel has provided what limited structure they can and through the enact of the Peacekeeper Mandate, progress has finally appeared. Established recently, in October 2463 by the President Dorn, the Peacekeeper Mandate set the funding and rights for the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion to manage and oversee the militarized control of the Corporate Reconstruction Zone. However, this militarized attempt to stabilize the prior-Alliance systems has been met with insurgent operations and active hostilities against both the uniformed services and megacorporation alike. What the Elyran Utopia has yet to inform you of, is the funding and resources gained by Mega corporations through the efforts of the Tau Ceti Legion. As we are all aware through the efforts of the New Suez Protocol of 2381, without hefty restrictions and limitations upon Mega corporations, businesses and/or enterprises within a system will be either bought out or eventually succumb to the inability of matching megacorporation prices/resources. Thus, the encroachment of mega corporations and specifically members of the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate now approach our broad border shared with the Republic of Biesel. Yet, should we effectively be worried, as this is occurring outside of Elyran territory? The answer to that is complicated, an answer which is heavily dependent on the length of the Peacekeeper Mandate. If the Peacekeeper Mandate is permitted to be funded and exist indefinitely, the mega corporations within the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate will be able to further dominate all systems within the Republic of Biesel. Eventually, Tau Ceti will be the least of Elyran fears on surviving the galactic economic market, as each independent system falls the corporate power rises. Eventually, a not ‘too’ unrealistic belief is that the mega corporations and the bolstered Tau Ceti Foreign Legion will invade Elyran space for rights and/or access to our Phoron reserves alone. Thus, we encourage you to make your voice(s) known and spread this message to those in your interpersonal relationships. As more individuals both Elyran and not gain insight into the practices of the Republic of Biesel, we may be better equipped to combat them in the future if necessary. Elyran Utopia would also like to take this time and ensure their readers that they do not presently side with any known insurgent organizations which actively/passively combat the Peacekeeper Mandate nor the Tau Ceti Legion. Organizations such as the Yuyuan Neo-Anarchists which have claimed civil erasure attempts by Biesel or the Renegades of Sekai claiming cultural removal and ideological sabotage. Furthermore, in an effort of transparency, it is suspected that the Samaritans of Mictlan are responsible for reaching out to Elyran Utopia in hopes of authoring this article. We ensure our sponsors and readers that no funding or influence from this organization has been acquired, the above article was assembled based on peer-interviews and on-scene research conducted by partnering news stations.

By: Asifa Matar (She/Her) & Shaafia Al-Greiss (She/Her) 2464 | February, 14th It is with remorse and care for the developments within The Southern Fleet Administration have reached Elyran ears, eyes, and minds. With resources acquired from the Alliance News Network and released infographics concerning losses caused by Fleet Admiral F.R. Beauchamp’s actions, Elyran Utopia will be combining our recent article publishment with this developing story. Be aware, this article will follow chronological order per when events and interviews were conducted. 2464 | February 9th While no formal response by The Serene Republic and Parliament electing to remain silent regarding the news of Skrellian vessels arriving in Sol, many within Elyran space remain unsure as to what this news means for their daily lives. As the Jargon Federation and the Alliance have remained allies throughout the eons of struggle both have faced, some fear a potential incursion may be approaching in the near future. All twenty-four Jargon Federation representatives that are within Elyran borders have similarly remained silent regarding the news, with Jargon interests in Elyra being concerned only on our technological partnership(s). Perhaps there is little or nothing to fear in the news of Skrell resources finally reaching outside the Jargon Federation, however, that does not seem to be the same opinion being shared on the Elyran Net. All posts collected will be kept anonymous for personal safety of those recorded/reported below: “As if we can trust the Solarian Alliance to not abuse the power and supplies being given by Jargon, I give it days until they decide to use this alliance and founding resources to try and reclaim Elyran space. Look at how they all whimper in response to the Phoron crisis, we are their next target, the Skrell are going to be the backbone they need to have confidence in striking us” -Anonymous (Chat-Ank) “The time has come for The League of United Republicans to take power within Parliament and out Rashid Nouzari. Revolutionists have continued our isolation for too long, an isolation that will soon make us a target from the Solarian forces as they pursue Phoron to support their typical conquests. In order to protect Elyran assets and life, we must reach out to those in the Republic of Biesel, Coalition of Colonies, Jargon Federation, and even the Sol Alliance. Perhaps, through economic partnership and increased trade we can keep the bolstered Sol fleets from coming for us next.” -LUR Party Member Known members and personnel connected to key leaders within The Elyran People’s Party have been the most outspoken regarding the Skrellian aid. Further calls for Elyra and the Coalition of Colonies to formally align themselves together, as both rightfully separated from the crumbling Sol Alliance, that both are undoubtedly a target if the Alliance is permitted to gain any strength from xeno-aid. Calls for banishment of all Jargon Federation representatives, deportation of non-Elyran citizens entirely from their space, and removal of the Suez Protocol of 2381. While standard, the whispers of encouragement to have Elyran forces strike the bolstered Sol Alliance before Jargon can fully revivify them have been received. Many see the growth and investment in our military/uniformed forces to not only be in aid of defending our future from potential Li’Dra invasions but ensuring peace by decimating our former conquerors. 2464 | February 13th Warp gates have been reported across Sol Alliance space, leading to further calls by The Elyran People’s Party members and The League of United Republicans to formally respond to the bolstering of Solarian space. Reportedly, these gates do not require Phoron and thus concerned parties regarding Solarian incursion into Elyra has been satiated for the time being. Nevertheless, it has been made evidently clear by Einstein Engines personnel that Jargon Federation technology and resources were used to benefit that of the Solarian Alliance through these technological developments. Will the ambition of Sol be bolstered further to begin assault upon their once proclaimed territories or will a future partnership be developed as many in The League of United Republicans hope. Some see a future where warp gate technology may be traded with Elyra for that of our hover technology and further insight, that a warp gate connecting the Sol system and that of New Ankara is possible. An alliance may be formed between our potential enemies, that the aid from the Jargon Federation is not something to fear but a chance for Elyra to also aid in the recovery of the Alliance. Perhaps it is time for Elyran citizens to stop their ideological isolationist practices and instead pursue that of partnership with those outside our space. If every Solarian, no matter their allegiance is still a Solarian and receiving Jargon aid, then perhaps every Human is still a Human and we should collectively work together. Yet, this response has been met with the expected concern and distrust of those outside our systems, that all good things come with the cost of bad happenings. Gates being deployed in The Core Worlds, the Provisional Government, and the Militarized District have led to the first steps of Solarian reformation. A reformation which many see will eventually encroach on Elyran space and result in a war with devastating consequences to both sides. 2464 | February 14th "It is with a heavy heart that I write this message, as I sought to finalize and include further interviews with those received from Solarian space on their response to finally being connected with lost lands and communities. News has been received via Alliance and Jargon Federation resources of an abysmal assault upon Jargon and Sol forces alike by prior Sol Admiral Beauchamp. With casualties of human lives breaching that of seven million and four-hundred Skrell, Elyran Utopia would like to write and encourage all to send their prayers or hopes to the recovering families from this devastating assault." -Asifa Matar Political parties have remained silent outside of expected solace and apologies for the major loss of life, while discussions of Sol Alliance pursuitof Elyran territory has dwindled to little for the time being as this event will undoubtedly lead to conflict outside of our space for time to come. Some have chosen to align or find similarity within the Admirals assault on Solarian and Jargon forces, claiming that Elyra would respond no different than the Regime on encroaching forces to their home-community. Furthermore, with official release by Unity Station, Fransisco Artigas spoke on behalf of the Alliance, “Any and all rogue detractors of the people of the Alliance must be put down, or else this will be a tear in a vast sea of tragedy and violence. Such is the way of warlordism; it is not just our duty, but our responsibility as the leaders of our great nation to end the violence and bring about a united Alliance once more. I assure you, Admiral Beauchamp and his fellow bandits will pay dearly for the lives lost, as will those that support them from afar.” A message which has been received by many Elyrans as a potential threat of future violence against our way of life and home, that in the eyes of the Sol Alliance, Elyra may be seen as rogue detractors. That a united Alliance in many Solarian eyes would include Elyran space and our Phoron reserves. Nevertheless, the Elyran Utopia would encourage you all to enlighten yourselves with how best to assist the Interstellar Aid Corps. A humanitarian organization which provides relief to all within our known galaxy, especially that within Solarian space. Even with the struggles and misguided relations between the Alliance and that of The Serene Republic, we as a nation remain one of the leading funders for the corps. Please, consider those lost today and the families that now struggle without a source of income, perhaps in good faith one may see our assistance through the IAC as a reason to not pursue Elyran space in any future conquest.

Consider such a blog, thus, not a reliable source of information when considering canonical decisions! By: Mahdi Khalili, Writer & Graphic Design (They/Them) 2464 | January, 26th With one of the most influential designers within The Serene Republic completing their bi-annual unveiling of this season's collections, Abdul Majeed al-Ansari has eloquently upstaged their competition with some bold interpretations of modesty. Mister Al-Ansari, founder of Ansari Apparel has seemingly taken to challenging the modesty guidelines and expectations that have been cemented into our society. While no direct statement in opposition of The Serene Republic policy on apparel, freedom of expression, and bodily image, Mister Al-Ansari has made it unequivocally clear on the ability to represent oneself, “From the towering heights of Persepolis to the graceful hovering of cities across Medina, we see representation of the Elyran culture and our principles of insight, advancement, and progression as keystones to our societal foundation. Yet, fear of personal expression remains stagnant amongst us all, a deeply rooted fear of artistic outburst of oneself, through apparel, cosmetics, augmentation, and other enhancements leaves many trapped, unable to bloom. Just as art is to fashion, the expression of the people, the individual for that matter, can only be suppressed for so long, a necessity to one's pursuit of happiness. With this collection, we target the fears of unrestricted expression, showing that much like art, fashion is individualistically interpreted, that what you see as a radical design, some might see as modest.” In attendance to the unveiling of Mister Al-Ansari’s collection, I was also granted the chance to examine the garments closely while also engaging with critics, viewers, and fellow designers within the audience. While no unanimous view of this collection was made, the musk of anxious excitement drifted across all present, unsure as to either support or shun Mister Al-Ansari for their bold stance on individual representation. However, many seem like minded with that of Mister Al-Ansari, concluding conversations with the comment that the rare occurrence of debauchery laws only hinders the further progression of Elyra into the future, a future in-which modesty and expression can be held cohesively without fear of public outcry. Aside from politics, the haute couture of Ansari Apparel as many see it has taken the place of this year's fashion-forward stylings. Removal of the frequent peplum that many designers previously encumbered their designs with, an asymmetric styling has been adopted along with color blocking, being the combination of two or more contradictory colors within an ensemble as a whole. While maintaining the use of chiffon, crinoline, lace, batiste, etc. that dominate Elyran lightweight apparel (as is standard for our climate), the unique combinations of such with canvas, dogaressa, satin, and even flannel have provided some of this years first breathable yet multi-season designs. Furthermore, Mister Al-Ansari brought murmurs to the crowd as no models present for this show adorned the hijab, resulting in the departure of some female/male viewers from the audience amidst the festivities. Nevertheless, as Mister Ansari has made such an intent in targeting societal norms of expression and standards, the shock of such an action left many in awe of either the courage or incompetence for such a stance. Needless to say, while no representatives or staff of Elyran Utopia outwardly condone nor support the designer, the ensembles presented will certainly be shaking up the fashion community for the remaining year to come.

  14. In service of Aurora and all who play, I must be the bearer of bad news for us all, coming to stand against the application of Vrow with such ferocity that I scare myself in writing this. Approximately three days ago, as the formidable Eden Li, I was working under Chief Aaminato and during said service I was faced with the most gruesome scene I have ever seen. NSFW - AVERT YOUR GAZE IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH As we can all see above, the ignorant Chief Aaminato decided to ignore the safety of Bones who was crushed by the office airlock and instead respond to an NTCC Odin fax during a crisis aboard the NSS Aurora. This sight alone has led me to write this review of Vrow and be the only present to cast a shadow across their record... In all honesty, Vrow is a remarkable role-player as many commented above. Competent and collected, with a diverse palate of characters which are usually entirely separate in skills, attitudes, opinions, etc. During the time I have shared with Chief Aaminato, they have displayed restraint towards being one of the 'super doctors' that many see Chief Medical Officers as, contributed to management, and most importantly was aware of when to step aside and let their physicians/staff do work as necessary. My main concern with the application of Vrow was regarding the potential for this CMO to just be a Doctor Mekesatis 2.0, running chemistry but also holding the ability to direct the Infirmary. What I was happily surprised with was a competent, thought-out, and respectable character who can at the very least show any/all Command players what excellent/proper Command play should always be. +2 for review, -1 from Bones, +1 overall.
  15. Apologies for the late response! I am more than happy for it to be a loudout item and if there could potentially be an inverted color-scheme for Eden, I would be ever more grateful. I do like the inverted scheme, I asked Mack to make it a bit more 'pinkish' to match the Zeng-Hu gloves but I am sure whatever is provided will be good. Waiting on the DMIs from Mack and then hopefully someone can say approved or such for the custom item and the first/initial dmi can be added to the loadout!
  16. BYOND Key: Huntime Discord Username: Huntime #1078 Character Name: Eden Al-Hakimi Li (Eden Li is what the character is saved as though!) Item Name: Zeng-Hu Cloak: Jargon Division Item Function(s): A standard Qerrbalak mantle modified with Zeng-Hu colors/insignia(s) along with the Jargon Federation flag. A combination of both showing the work the corporation and the federation have accomplished together. Was considering giving it pockets like the labcoat or Vac cloak, but such is not explicitly necessary. Item Description: A cloak worn by Zeng-Hu personnel who worked with or in the Jargon Federation. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: As a proud and respectable member of the Zeng-Hu Corporation and more importantly an Elyran who was undoubtedly sheltered from outside influence and experiences amongst the cosmos, Eden finds pure elation in learning about other cultures/the unknown. As the primary corporation to work with the Jargon Federation, the Skrell from such would have been some of the first xeno-relations Eden would have had since departing Elyra and working within Zeng-Hu facilities. Eden sees the cloak as a memento or token of their past, a marker towards pursuit of something/someone you do not know, enveloping oneself in new cultures and experiences. How did your character obtain this item?: Their close-friend and hopeful quarters-mate aboard the conglomerate vessel, Poxxi, was recently contracted by Zeng-Hu. During Poxxi's 'welcoming' or 'initiation', Zeng-Hu offered all garments which they would find similar to their ancestral home attire. Poxxi was given this cloak but decided such did not suit their style and offered such to Eden, seeing as Eden had worked many years prior amongst Jargon Skrell and was a devoted Zeng-Hu employee. Whether the cloak was simply unavailable for attainment when Eden was first contracted or perhaps was species-locked is up to everyone else, Mack (Ryver) gave me the Skrell maint approval to use it and actually made the sprites for me too :p. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: I am unsure on the worth of a Qerrbalak cloak, but I imagine many of these Zeng-Hu modifications exist across the countless laboratories/facilities that Zeng-Hu has. The worth is probably small and similar to that of a Zeng-Hu lab coat, but when it comes to sentimental value (as noted above), there is both a personal and interpersonal value. Seeing as Eden, prior to work aboard the NSS Aurora/Conglomerate vessel, was contracted by Zeng-Hu for many years, they accomplished work alongside Jargon Skrell daily, the personal value of such showing/reminding Eden of their past efforts and the enlightenment of cultures outside Elyra. However, Eden's interpersonal relationship with Poxxi having given them the cloak is undoubtedly a bold influencer on the items value, this cloak can be replaced, but it can never be the one Poxxi gave to Eden. Sprites: ZH_Cape.dmi Additional Comments: Mack and I did discuss the fact this might be rejected as it could be a potential loadout item, that is undoubtedly up to you all reviewing this. I enjoy/like the idea of it being a unique thing, but I understand that many Skrell would have been contracted by Zeng-Hu so allowing for this item to be used by Zeng-Hu personnel would probably make sense too. Up to you, Mack did say he is fine with it being made a loadout item for Zeng-Hu personnel, like the Zeng-Hu labcoat, I dunno how to apply/do that though.
  17. I would greatly appreciate a return of the/any economic system, such can only benefit roleplay and interaction with the environment. However, I personally note a misconception with what careers pay more, especially when it comes to that of engineering and medical careers. I am aware there is some discontent when someone uses real-world values to try and better grasp the economic situation within the Aurora lore universe, but such is our best foundation for making a 'system' which works and more importantly, makes sense. Obviously this is my opinion, based upon info gathered from sources like Indeed which averages career paths and just general Google searches for the average costs per product within the United States, since that is also where I kept the Indeed search limited to. First, I am aware the vending machines are awfully designed/implemented with their costs per product, but I just wanted to make note of such compared to present day US costs per item. Furthermore, the average cost per living for a single individual in the United States including rent, food, clothing, and other monthly necessities is $2,816. So in-real if you were to buy a bag of 3oz beef jerky, it would cost you on average $9.28 of the total monthly average noted above. Do take note the cost of living in the United States is roughly 76% higher than the rest of the World. While that is of note, my 'primary' concern with this and obviously such can be worked on after a standard economic page is even created or worked from the ground up, the pay scales and rates per the careers above is off. Within the US as per indeed, With this and going off of your numbers provided, I would encourage a change that the pay scales and ladder actually goes, Intern -> Civilian -> Security -> Research -> Engineering -> Medical -> Department Administration -> Etc. Obviously such is up for debate and most of my opinion is presently based on the numbers gathered, which are more than likely heavily skewed due to demand for employment. One of the argued reasons within the US alone for why those in healthcare make such is the demand for them to work in the US compared to other nations, so the healthcare industry pays more to attract more. There is also the costs of student loans, malpractice insurance, etc. Most of this is just food for thought, but at the end of the day, you usually seem to get paid more for the skill you are required to execute constantly, the stress of the job, and the danger. Medics and Engineers being the two which are either holding the life of someone in their hands or working with machinery that could crush them like a bug, seem to be worthy of making more than the general scientist, which can be anyone from undergraduate to graduate individuals, since they are not technically being put under that much risk? Granted, one can then argue that corporate security should get paid more for the risk they put forward. But since such a career does not require a degree, it is fairly easy to find a meatshield. Ex. Real Life corporate security Such of course is simply my opinion and I am just interested in seeing what you all do with the economy overall, especially if you build it from the foundation up. Once again, apologies for using the U.S. currency/economic system, I know someone will be upset at me for such.
  18. Personally, I fail to see the issue with providing antags an easier route for causing drama/issues for the crew on whatever the vessels name is. There are countless agents in medical along that can/are used directly against antags, this being that of suit-sensors, GPS, medibot reportings, sound-effects when a patient is flatlining on a properly equipped bed, etc. The current NSS Aurora surgical fridge is far bigger and closed off in the same regards as this and to my knowledge has never posed any issue. Antags exist to cause issues and antagonize the crew/personnel, I personally rather see map creations which aid in both antags goal(s) and security combatting the antag. As for the patient recovery ward, I could see a glass medical airlock being provided. Only concern would be the 'realism' of patient privacy in this area, but there are curtains for the beds/wards, so I don't see why glass would be a downside. Antags could still effectively do evil things behind a patient-ward curtain and not get instantly caught from an individual standing in the hall about 6 tiles away.
  19. Got bored during an exam-review today, decided to spend 20 minutes marking up some potential suggestions to the Bridge breakroom. Not entirely happy with them, but because the window sprites are on the NBT file and not the public, can't get them rn and it was too much hassle to use the already-present shuttle stuff. Moved plant-window inplace of the reinforced wall, firedoor is present incase of breach, could also add bridge lockdown shutters/privacy glass. Basically an attempt to give antags another exit/entrance point. Added a multi-level factor to the breakroom so the room is less flat. Moved the boozemat into the wall (the sprite) so it could be accessed but not take up a tile of space. Ill attach other random suggestions/mark ups I did, not huge fans of any of these, but I think they have some good concepts to them? Not a huge fan of the carpet-one, but I thought I would try it out. OH! Before I am asked. The white/shuttle wall is in place of the new NBT walls and the windows are obviously where the others go, just no diag sprites. Thanks for your time.
  20. This better be fake. Humanity must be better than this. Also Ryan is funny so +1 complaint
  21. After reading some comments, a specific concern about psych-patients having to sit in the hall and watch surgery was evidently present. I decided to try and give it a go by redesigning the psych-office and some modifications further to the hallway. However, I noticed (mostly since I didn't have the full map it was hard to compare z-levels at first, that the hole in the ceiling of the upper level medical would have to shrink to fit both the surgical and psych-modifications, even separately they both expand each room by 1 tile inwards and thus shrinking the hole itself. Luckily, if they are both expanded, the symmetrical lattice is kept for the most part. The attached image above would be the combination of a modified psych-office with some more aesthetic/comfortable appeal to it. The desk would be in view of those in the tiny waiting room, which is further separated from surgery and far more comfortable. No changes to the previously mentioned surgical layout. Psych-office has been extended one tile into the hall and given a comfortable atmosphere to it. A 'platform' was made and given 'steps' so that there is a multilevel feel towards the office, a bit more official than just being flat/equal to the remaining Infirmary floor. Nothing excessively changes about the office or the outside public hallway, utilities are the same/etc There was concern that the new waiting room felt cramped, I wasn't able to easily change that without editing the structure more and causing the gap in the ceiling above to shrink further. Obviously I will probably continue to mess with mapping layout/suggestions when I need something to keep me busy while watching lectures 😛 Now this is where the tragedy struck me as I realized the upper floor would have to be compacted from its original view, which is also attached. Due to the expansion of surgery and psych independently, a tile was taken in on both sides of the expanse. Personally, not too sure on how the upper level would/should change to accommodate for my suggested surgery/psych changes but I made a very quick mark-up of what could be done. Due to the change of both gap sides, the symmetrical lattice is still present. The notable/major change would be that there is now a direct maintenance access to the Infirmary upper floor instead of necessarily having to go through the attached (office?) Obviously, I know there has already been so much work put into NBT and I don't think anything here is really that vital of a change. Perhaps its more aesthetic based or simply preference, it could easily be both. Nevertheless, just thought I would post them to get some creative fluids moving and incase any further opinion was wanted. As always, thank you for your time.
  22. I wish, Bay did teach me well though 😛
