BYOND Key: BileThePilot
Character Names: James Led, Milton Miller, Maike Navarro
Species you are applying to play: IPC
What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Baseline
Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, it is somewhat fascinating.
Why do you wish to play this specific race: Humans are too brittle for such a task, and knowledge gained in this field must be fiercely preserved if humanity is to ever progress.
Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Positronics allow for more flexible emotion, being bound by a set of laws coded in by its makers. The other aspect is perception, perception of it by the public, some negative, some endearing.
Character Name: GESIP (General Scientific Integrated Positronic Chassis)
Please provide a short backstory for this character:
Created for scientific purposes, both experimenting during it's creation, despite a seemingly primitive Baseline chassis, and it experimenting once ready for duty. Not socially experimenting or other menial testing, but lab work. Created in 2453 with a bigger focus on its intellectual capacity than visual appeal, while keeping both ethics and social aspects in check, giving it a small talk and pun protocol for crew morale, even embedding a human backstory to tell during down time.
GESIP was expertly coded with a 'Satisfaction' variable, that fluctuates both with scientific progress and social interaction, but more from the former, the social part playing any matter is simply present to endear it to its future coworkers and otherwise simply station personnel. While the 'Satisfaction' variable is low it will seek job satisfaction or otherwise, maximizing its usefulness to the crew with both research and chatter. The social protocols were expertly coded to make it appear as friendly and helpful as possible and avoid it being self concluded and antisocial.
Currently its stationed on NSS Aurora and is property of NanoTrasen, doing its best to achieve scientific advancements while keeping morale up.
What do you like about this character?
Flexible ethics, where as a human would suffer during a complex emotional moment, for GESIP it's all just a set of instructions with clear priorities.
I have roleplayed as Cyborgs in the past and I both believe that this will be an interesting experience and that I will be able to roleplay to a satisfactory level.
Notes: If you're an onlooker, do comment suggestions, I will be happy to read them.
