  1. What are the chances?
  2. Dax maintains a positive attitude with those of the K'lax hive, due to their support of Zo'rane rule, unless they are known collaborators with the Loa’mox, to which it would become strictly professional. As for C'thur, it would remain purely professional due to the K'lax and C'thur hostilities, with Dax showing more support to those of the K'lax over C'thur. For Dax, everything is about presentation. The way K'ois roulade looks and its similarities to the human dish make it a favorite of Dax's.
  3. BYOND Ckey: BoomerThor Discord username: boomerthor Character Names: Flynn Johnson, Jimmy Navin, Antoine Maes, Zayn Sadar Species you are applying to play: Vaurca ------------------------------------------------------------------------ What color do you plan on making your first alien character?: Athvur's brood Bulwark (122, 31, 0) Have you read the lore pages for the species you wish to be whitelisted for?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this species?: My main inspiration for pursuing this whitelist is from the interactions I've had with other Vaurca players. Zohd, Avek, Zeevh, Nakoz, and Nangeren (to list a few) are all fantastic to role-play with. After diving into the Vaurca wiki pages, I've fallen in love with the species. I love the walking forklift/gentle giant aesthetic Bulwarks give off. It'll be fun getting immersed with other players in the Vaurca mindset. What makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a human?: Vaurca don't get to decide what they want to be when they grow up. They are created with a defined task, whether that be a ferocious killing machine or a new-age da Vinci. Your Ta assigns you with a purpose and that's your life's goal. They spend perceived years in VR training and come out fully prepared for the job ahead of them. The way that technology and biology intertwine in Vaurca culture makes them one of the most alien species in the setting. Their hierarchal society demands respect for one's Ta and Hive. A massive part of role-playing a Vaurca is the Hive-net. This allows you to communicate anywhere with any other Vaurca in ways that differ from a radio headset. You can project feelings and ideas to your Kin which makes this species really unique (not including Skrellian psionics). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Character Name: Ra'Akaix'Dax Zo'ra, Chef Write a backstory for your character. This may include their origin, education, personality and how they arrived to the SCCV Horizon. Ra'Akaix'Dax Zo'ra is of Athvur's brood, created to be good public relations for Nanotrasen following the fiasco in Phoenixport. Dax spent its time in VR training for the Biesellite service industry, learning human dishes and customs. Once out of VR, it began work at a Quick-E-Burger in Mendell, a short shuttle from its hive-cell. Due to its massive size, Dax had to enter through the delivery entrance to get to the kitchen. Its shift went from 6 am to 2 am, with a 15-minute lunch at noon, eating in the freezer due to k'ois contamination issues. Dax would spend the late hours of their shift cleaning and chatting with coworkers. Typically humans and IPCs were distant from Dax, but its charisma eventually won them over, referring to Dax as the 'big guy.' After a few months of employment, Quick-E-Burger was sold from Nanotrasen to the newly founded Orion Express. The CEO was set on expanding the operations of the chain, so many of the coworkers Dax was familiar with were sent off to new locations. Its new coworkers didn't like Dax, massive size being blamed for an overturned mop bucket. It was often told to do menial labor, like unloading the delivery truck and mopping the floors. Thankfully, the Ta reassigned Dax to a separate Orion subsidiary restaurant along with a few others from the hive-cell. Dax was able to truly flourish in the service industry, able to work in cohesion with their Ka kin. With Orion noticing Dax's performance and Orion service jobs opening up around the Spur, corporate transferred them to the Horizon to represent Orion. How has the recent events of the Orion Spur impacted your character? Events such as the Phoron Scarcity, the Solarian Collapse or even the Invasions of Biesel for interstellar-wide affairs, while region-specific events such as the Peacekeeper Mandate, The Titan Rises or even Cold Dawn may impact your character. Though this was before Dax's time, the interactions that Biesel citizens had during the Court of Queens arc (particularly the Flagsdale riots) would have made them prejudiced to the Ra. How does your character view the megacorporation they work for? Dax is grateful for the chance Orion has given him. Now that it works on the Horizon, Dax's able to bring back more money to the Hive and able to experience more of the Spur's culture. Notes: I do know this is a bit short, but I've been sitting on this a while and would like to just get it out. I'm sure I can answer any questions below!
  4. The Intrigue (ninja+traitor) round that almost turned into Revolution
  5. BYOND key: BoomerThor Discord Username: boomerthor Character names: Flynn Johnson Jimmy Navin Atlas Gabris How long have you been playing on Aurora? I've been playing on Aurora for about a year now Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I have received some bwoinks for some looc shenanigans, but they are not very serious and were resolved quickly. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? The OOC purpose of an Head of Staff is to ensure the smooth running of your department and to help disperse orders from command to your staff. It is also a mentor role, if someone is unsure of mechanics in your department, they know they can ask you for help. Heads of Staff also help initiate roleplay with the department, whether that be an engineering demonstration in the Holodecks or operations offering commission for handing in bounties. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? The OOC responsibilities are to help newer players learn their roles onboard the Horizon and to guide . For engineering how to set up power, the thrusters, and atmospherics, and for operations how to sort the warehouse, send out/receive bounties, and make sure mining gets back home safely. I would uphold these by being in contact with my staff and personally assisting new players in their jobs. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. Since Violet Dawn, Flynn has been drifting between Hephaestus sites, simply taking any job that he could in an attempt to rise up in the ranks and get enough money to pay for his ailing mother's bills. After only a year of hard labor in orbital factories in the Sol system, Hephaestus noticed the ambition of this Martian and decided to send him as a representative of Hephaestus to the SCCV Horizon, coincidentally once there were openings after the [REDACTED]. While he was new to the Horizon, his perseverance was put to the test during the weaponizing of the Horizon and some intense firefights with the Southern Fleet Administration, with him nearly dying in the process. This prompted him to take a change of pace, becoming a miner onboard as well. Though he was not on the Horizon for the events on Adhomai, the news of his friend's and dozens of other's deaths has left him questioning about what could have been. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? I plan on playing either Operations Manager or Chief Engineer, as I feel these command roles are not played as much as others. I plan on promoting my tech/miner Flynn to Manager in the short term, and giving Navin more time and growth before promoting him to Chief Engineer permanently. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes I have. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Flynn Johnson, Operations Manager Jimmy Navin, Chief Engineer Kentz Steiger, Operations Manager Edit: I am taking the advice of the commenters and have made a character for Operations manager instead of using my main, in case I do not enjoy it Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Completely understandable. Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums? Yes. Extra notes: While I know this application is for all of command, I don't see myself making a Head of Security or Captain anytime in the future until I get more acclimated with their departments
10/10 Good escalation, everyone had a role to play. I LOVE KILLING WARFORMS RRRAAAAAHHHHHH.

  7. This seems like a positive addition to Martian lore. The wiki entry is quite vague and short, and this seems to clarify things well. +1
