Vittorio Giurifiglio Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 BYOND Key: Character name:Dr. Vittorio Giurifiglio Item name:Four Sol Standard/Atlas Standard whichever you decide is easier Political Uniform: Will demonstrate a Picture Atlas Armband: Black Fez: Why is your character carrying said item to work?Because he is an ardent Sol Nationalist, And a Politically active person. He also quite enjoys demonstrating to all his political leanings so that people may challenge him on the spot and cause conversation, Which Vittorio get's seldom of (Excluding threats and mean words ). The purpose is also to fit within the pride agreement of his party where one must wear the uniform as much as possible to advertise subconsciously. Item function(s):The Fez and suit act as clothing to wear as Head of personnel or on a large break as CMO, Essentially just clothing. Whereas the banner when clicked on, if not to much trouble would relay the message " [insertnamehere] waves the banner of Terra, with great vigor, the aura of Terran pride sweeps over you, Almost feeling the need to salute", And the armband is essentially the armband. Item description: Shirt: This is a Political uniform, It is a classy black militaristic uniform, which is adorned with a Sash and a eagle, Clearly this person has style. (Or something better once I think of it.) Fez: This is a Black fez, it bears an Emblem of the Astronomical symbol of Earth, It also has some nice tassels Wee! Atlas Armband: This is an atlas armband showing anyone who sees this person, as a member of the Political party Atlas, Politics amirite? Sol Standard: The Banner of Sol/Atlas (Depending on choice) it inspires a sort of fierce loyalty and devotion when raised, Hail Sol! +10 morale Item appearance: Shirt: Fez: Armband: Basically a Red armband re-skinned to Black with a Dark red Astronomical Earth symbol Standard: What ever Sam has designed for the Sol flag or, If not done, A black banner with a very dark Red Terran astronomical symbol. Additional comments: As a note this is not just to look cool in a fancy black uniform, This is legitimately what Vittorio would wear to work, And I feel it would provide good Rp to anyone who was curious about the Odd uniform, As well as the x10 possibility of more lynch mobs. Also if you need me to fix or clarify problems, don't hesitate to ask.
Jboy2000000 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I don't know if I like this, enough people, both ICly and OOCly, wonder why NT would keep someone so racist and politically humanist like Vitt as a head, one of the highest positions NT can offer out in space, and a company like that is probably always faced against by leftest/liberal/democrat protesters, and want to keep their image clean. Why would they allow something like this that implicates something so unstable and controversial onto a very important space station? But then theres the other part of me that says "this would not only look good in game, and could bring fun situations into the game." Shortly put, I don't have any strong standing on this.

Except you know he is barely racist, sure once and a while he'll make a cynical comment about Xenos, but really the racist factor is overblown and there are people worse than Vittorio in that sector. Another thing, why would anyone particularly care about one Human supremacist (which imo shouldn't be an unpopular view point) is made a head on a private station.
Serveris Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Professional uniform policies are in place. Excluding coats and armbands, we don't approve full changes in uniform that deviates from a NT environment. (We've approved NT naval duty uniforms for certain characters.) I can see corporate allowing the fez and armband, but you may have to abandon the outfit, as it doesn't cultivate the sense of unity that a dress policy entails. Will wait for a mod to say their piece.
TishinaStalker Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi! Here to pitch in my opinion. I can only really give my support to the armband and fez. I'd have to say a firm no on the uniform and banner. No to the uniform because NT provides you a jumpsuit for a reason. One can only assume that NT has a dress code that they expect you to follow. Departments that should always follow this policy are the command and security staff because they are the most important crewmembers that need to be recognized. In fact, if you don't want the jumpsuit , you generally have different uniforms in your locker that should be used. I can see getting leeway for jackets, hats , shoes, armbands, and gloves, but not for uniforms and most certainly not for you to bring a massive banner to show your political hardheadedness in a station with different species. Plus... Why the heck would you bring a banner to work ...?

I think you're overestimating the size of the banner I was thinking of like a 1 by 3 ft flag which is quite small and quite easily packed into a tiny internals box, and what if I changed the Blackshirts to just being a soldiers greatcoat?
TishinaStalker Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Greatcoat? Presen me an image. I have topics to lock and archive, and being on my phone means I'll take a bit.

Vittorio Giurifiglio Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 See the outer coat on this one? , that is what I mean, possibly with a lower collar, i was wrong about it being a greatcoat, It is just a Jacket.
TishinaStalker Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 As long as it's a jacket (exosuit slot), I believe it would be fine as long as Vittorio doesn't go "HEIL SOL" every single shift, and forgets his sensitivity training because of it. In short, don't let this go to your head. I believe you have the ability of playing a speciest character, but not letting it get to stupid proportions. Don't let more things to help solidify that ruin it.
Serveris Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Get some sprites for the approved items and we will be set.

TishinaStalker Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Well, if it's something like that, then I believe it could work, but only if it's a Sol flag. It's not rare for people to put flags of where they're from in their office. Having an Atlas flag up on your wall would be like having a Confederate flag on your wall. Would I feel comfortable going in to my boss' office if he had a confederate flag on his wall? Since I'm Puerto Rican, then I most certainly would not. In short: Sol flag, yes. Atlas flag, no (the armband is more than enough).

SgtSammac Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I have military flags, and i had the basis of an overall flag, I can easily finish it up/make it better. *nods*
Serveris Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Any idea where I could find sprites? Â Could try taking a crack at making themself, or commissioning a server spriter. Seems Sam there has you covered on the flag portion.
SgtSammac Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 http://puu.sh/eP2x9/204155cec2.png Not officially confirmed yet, but here is a non-ingame sprite version thing of the flag.

TishinaStalker Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Item has been approved and is currently in the works. Keep checking back in the archives as I will change your topic's prefix to [Processing]. Once it is set to [Completed], then the item will have been implemented in the code. Keep an eye out for dev staff that might have questions. Locking and archiving.
SierraKomodo Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I'll be (attempting) to code this once there's sprites For the standard, do you mean like the NT flags in the chapel? Or something else?
