Experience

How long have you played SS13?:

SS13 itself I've played for about two to three years.

How long have you played on Aurora:

Roughly around a year on Aurora, give or take.

How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?:

I know a decent amount about the game mechanics, and how most departments work, save for perhaps a couple particularly niche things.

Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?:

I don't.

I've never been banned.

Personality

Why do you play SS13?:

In general, I enjoy playing SS13 because it's a surprisingly complex game, and I enjoy discovering small and interesting facets of gameplay mechanics, and how fun it can be to play a variety of different roles.

Why do you play on Aurora?:

I play on Aurora because I got incredibly tired of the majority of LRP servers out there, and because I love RP and have been doing it for almost eight years now.

What do moderators do?:

A Moderator assists the server community by ensuring that people hold up to a certain standard of roleplay, and that rules aren't blatantly broken. They also help to make sure that a proper environment is maintained, and sometimes even help out people that are new to SS13. Really, they exist to help people and keep things running smoothly.

What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?:

It means that you're there to help people that need help, and that you're a mature player, one that follows the rules; and someone that can help and make sure that others follow the rules, too. You should also approachable, so that people aren't worried to bring any concerns forward.

Why do you want to be a moderator?:

I'd like the opportunity to try and give back and help out the community that I've enjoyed being part of for the last year or so, even if my role is small. I also quite like helping people, which is an important thing, given that SS13 can be a difficult thing to learn.

What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?:

I'm generally a friendly and laid back person, and I'm always willing to lend a hand and help or teach people if they need it. And while I've never moderated on SS13 before, I have done it on other HRP servers for other games. I know the rules, and I also like to think that I'm a decently mature person.

How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?:

I can usually handle them perfectly fine, as long as it's not a constant slew of vitriolic or vicious insults. Even then, I've learned that it's best not to retaliate, as that usually just throws more fuel on the fire. When things get to their very worst, I know when to walk away and ask someone else to take over.
