XChrisUnknownX
Basic Information Byond Account: XChrisUnknownX227 Character Name(s): Chris Blade, Rayne Blade, Edmund Blade AI Name(s): BLADE Preferred means of contact: E-mail/BYOND/Forum PMs Age: 24 Timezone: Eastern Standard Time When are you on Aurora?: Weeknights (7p.m. to midnight at best), Weekends (random). Experience How long have you played SS13?: A couple of years. How long have you played on Aurora: About six months on and off. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Very much. I've spent a lot of time on the wiki and in a lot of different roles. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: No. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No. Personality Why do you play SS13?: To roleplay. Why do you play on Aurora?: To roleplay. What do moderators do?: Enforce server rules / inspire RP / generate fun. Doomberg told me event mod positions are available. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: I'd like the moderator tools to help get people RPing together. It means more responsibility, the but chance to tilt the community towards each other, get people interacting, maybe get a story going, particularly on low-population shifts. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I see mod tools as a way to get stories going and get people excited to play on Aurora. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I'm very affable. I could resolve conflicts reasonably. I'm a veteran roleplayer, and could put my mind into making some stuff to drive a round or three. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: It varies. Generally very well. Anything Else You Want to Add: Understandably, I'm not a pillar in this community, so I can see this being rejected. Just an attempt to be involved, since I have more spare time so far this year. Doomberg
Doomberg told me event mod positions are available. A little bit of clarification, as I may have worded that poorly. The rank exists in the code, but it's given out temporarily for mods who want to host events, basically. You can't be a permanent event mod as of right now. Link to comment
Frances
Further clarification. Unless things changed drastically in the past week since I've left, there are two ranks for events: Event Hosts and Moderator Event Hosts. They're basically the same: temporary, limited admin powers with the intent of running an event. The difference is one rank also gives (preserves) access to mod tools for people who are already mods. The other rank (non-mod event host) can be given to non-mods/admins to run events, though these people are hand-picked under certain circumstances, and tend to be members of the community the staff already trusts. (Don't see it as a privilege, it's more logistics, like the staff can only really afford to let people who they know won't fuck up run events, because otherwise it can create a really crappy round for everyone). Hope that clears it up. If you're interested in running events, but also like the idea of moderating, I'd suggest applying as a regular mod and working your way up the ranks. That's actually the reason why I first joined the staff on Aurora, because I wanted to run events. (And yes, I got to.) Link to comment
Skull132
Event moderators and event managers will be a separate team at some point in the future. There will be announcements and the likes once this system is undergoing implementation. Link to comment
