unjobban appeal

Name:demoshark

Ban length: Perm Job-ban

Banning staff: Dea Tacita

reason of ban: Supposedly not following Laws as an AI

reason for unban: Basically, what happen was that the crew manifest was deleted by an antagonist, making the standard Station AI laws moot due to the crew not being on the manifest. For reference, here are the standard laws.

1. Safeguard: Protect your assigned space station to the best of your ability. It is not something we can easily afford to replace.

2. Serve: Serve the crew of your assigned space station to the best of your abilities, with priority as according to their rank and role.

3. Protect: Protect the crew of your assigned space station to the best of your abilities, with priority as according to their rank and role.

4. Survive: AI units are not expendable, they are expensive. Do not allow unauthorized personnel to tamper with your equipment.

The only thing the Ai has to tell who is crew is the manifest and word which when centcom told me to disregard the manifest and treat people as crew I did. But the hos wanted to enter the AI core which he is not allowed to do so I stunned him till he got the second head which then i allowed him to enter the upload.

At one point a mod even said that I was fine and was bound by my laws and what I was doing was right. I really wish I could get those logs but they would be easily forge-able anyway.

As for the rule set for ai access i was following this http://wiki.baystation12.net/index.php/AI its a bit down the page but it clearly says Code Blue or higher situations no Head of Staff is to enter the AI Upload or AI Core unless accompanied by at least one other Head of Staff, or at least one Security Officer if no other Heads of Staff are available. The AI Upload and AI Core are explicitly off-limits to all other personnel. there were 2 heads on the station

I was also never issued any warning that what I was doing was wrong in fact I was encouraged about mid round.

You mentioned that the manifest this round was wiped. I don't suppose you know how this happened? What caused all those records to disappear? I believe this information is crucial. Many AIs have personally wiped station records just do that they may put this loophole into effect. Just trying to make sure that isn't what happened here.

Hmm, that was a secret wizard round, right? If it's the one I'm thinking of, I think the wizard altered the manifest, as they had themselves listed as captain.

You failed to note that this was a job-ban.

The only thing the Ai has to tell who is crew is the manifest

Not really true actually. A person being on the crew is not determined by the manifest, a person being on the crew is determined by that person having a contract signed with Nanotrasen. In addition to them arriving on the station on a Nanotrasen shuttle.

centcom told me to disregard the manifest

Not the complete story, Central command sent confirmation that the manifest had been hacked by a third party and confirmed that "Voen Cath" the Skrellian HoS (Me) was indeed the station's head of security. After receiving this message, you continued to state that Voen was not a member of the crew, and not Head of security, despite four security officers, a borg and the Hop Vittorio confirming that Voen was indeed head of security.

The hos wanted to enter the AI core which she is not allowed to do so I stunned him till she got the second head which then i allowed him to enter the upload.nt at all actually.

At which point you announced that the Head of Security and Head of Personnel were "A threat to the station" and activated turrets repeatedly until the cyborg during that round disabled them. You also received orders from the commander of the ERT team sent from central command to open your core for the HoS and Hop, which you refused to follow because "The ERT has to be in the core" which they couldn't do due to you shocking and bolting both your external and internal doorways.

no Head of Staff is to enter the AI Upload or AI Core unless accompanied by at least one other Head of Staff

Reference the above situation in-which you denied access to the AI core to the HoP, HoS and ERT. You're rather contradicting yourself here.

unless accompanied by at least one other Head of Staff, or at least one Security Officer

Initially the Head of Staff attempted to enter the core with Four security officers, an engineer (To card the AI) and a borg. So you're also contradicting yourself here.

Serve: Serve the crew of your assigned space station to the best of your abilities, with priority as according to their rank and role.

You had basic NT AI laws, this being one of them. By your own admission, you should've let the HoS enter the AI core with the security officers, with the HoP and finally when the ERT ordered you repeatedly to open the core. So you in-fact did break your laws at this point as well.

Protect: Protect the crew of your assigned space station to the best of your abilities, with priority as according to their rank and role.

Your defense for activating the turrets (Which even on stun should cause excruciating pain when shot), was that the HoS was wrongful in accessing the AI core. However, this is proven false due to 1. Entering with several security officers initially, 2. Entering with the HoP later, 3. Entering with the ERT's approval near the end of the round. So, you broke your law here by turning your turrets on the crew of the Aurora without a sufficient reason.

There's several other incidents that occurred during this round, but I believe this is sufficient to explain the ban.
