Lady Fowl Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 The dress cannot have any custom titles on it aside from the name tag and the necropolis logo The dress coat as is, is fine Datagloves are fine as long as its just a re-textured watch Boots are fine It is a no on the ID. We do not accept applications for custom titles or identification anymore. However before we make a final decision, could you write abit about how this shows your character and improves roleplay of them, aside from just visuals. What does this item drive story wise and what does it tell about your character?
TheSleepyCatmom Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 That's all fine, I suppose. Still think there's a miscommunication on it, because all it is is a badge. Regardless, visually is part of a story, in all regards. If it wasn't the game would be text-based. Standing out is half the ideal, otherwise for what purpose do humans look differently and use different armors and uniforms per corporation and area? Moving on, though, Katerina had a managerial (yet not executive) position at a facility in Sol, located on Sol III, to oversee production at said facility and make sure the automated machinery kept running as it was meant to, hence her degree in mechanical engineering and robotics, and the reasoning for the position she's in now. Obviously, the uniforms of these people would be different to easily visually differentiate between who is who. Katerina is a rather petty person at the core and had said uniform tailored to fit better herself perfectly. All of the above would primarily be clear from how it was now, especially due to the descriptions and what-not. Of course it raises the question of 'why do they still have X item', and my reasoning that was OK'd by Zundy was that everything would be fine so long as it was given a little deprecated seal, and would be kept by whoever had said item if they paid for it. For example the uniform, and the card (which is irrelevant now I suppose), would be more akin to Service uniforms (and IDs) that Armed Forces & Uniformed Services have. Which I think is fitting due to the militaristic nature of Necropolis as a whole with their arms production and security forces. It's a backup to the assistance of 'I used to do X', people can argue otherwise easily. Anyone can say they worked as something for someone, having things that, obviously would visually stand out with your name on it, for example an ID card or a uniform with your name and position, backs that up. It makes an interesting and easily brought-up conversation starter. It's difficult and just awkward to walk up to someone and go "Hey, nice necklace, where'd you get it from?", whereas it's a lot easier if someone's wearing a neat coat, right? And to be honest I think it's a little encouragement to poke at other Contractors to know why exactly they wanted to work for NT with their company's blessing. Or, in Katerina's case, be transferred off due to the facility you were working at being sold and made a subsidiary due to it's relatively small size. The hope is that it assists in telling the story rather than being a story all on it's own. Personally I don't really see issue with things like this, if I did I guess I wouldn't have made the app though. It adds minor context, but doesn't give the full tale so people would have to ask and give interaction and, by proxy, generate roleplay. It might not be a long story, but it still is one. There's definitely reasoning in the character itself for all of it. Though I'd like to comment I haven't been around much recently, due to both me being unable to at times, to me being busy with other things in my life. So if that has any impact on it, I'd rather state it blatantly than have you go digging around and spend effort on getting that information. Even if it likely isn't that hard. If that doesn't quite please your request, my apologies, not in the best place to remember everything about the story itself, but I don't think the small details matter all too much at the current.
Pratepresidenten Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 We've talked this over and although its nice and all to stand out and have a unique look, this can be accomplished with mixing and matching loadout items. Youve noted yourself that the feminine part of loadout items are severely lacking, so it would be nice if someone at some point made more female oriented sprites and wears. That being said, what we feel in regards to this application and what youve said would allow for better interaction and such can be done just as well without the custom uniform. Application denied.
