nonno_anselmo Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Just a little channel in which new players can go ahead and ask questions and receive help from everyone. Often questions get drowned in #general by the four link of Wide Putin Walks for 10 Hours and as a result there is no real progress. This would outsource a lot of the work to the comunity and create an environment to discuss ingame issues and doubts in a clean manner. The channel could also be used by players to call for help by a staff member regarding rules and a few doubts they may have without having to slide into tand heir DMs or making entire threads on the forum just to ask a simple question. It would also make it easier for people to get into a department without the awfully bloated mechanism of departemental discordd server where i have to apply for uwu validation uwu identification uwu of uwu my uwu static uwu character uwu just to understand the basics of a department or to get a mentor. In short, outsource the whole helping and teaching process to the entire community and make learning more accessible for everyone without going through leaps and bounds to attain a minor improvement in their understanding of a single game mechanic which would have not required someone to join a new discordd channel, waiting for identification, bothering an admin personally and/or opening a ticket. We have #lore-question, why not have #gameplay-question too?
BearSchwanz Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Not a Yae nor a Nae but a few points, The new modmail system announced by arrow should be sufficient for urgent questions and issues but that don't address general learning/mentoring. You could as of now use the serious discussions channel but then again that can be flooded by other topics covering any questions as well. I think if the serious discussions channel is deemed debunk then this could be a potential replacement. Otherwise *shrug.
Carver Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 I suggested this in lieu of a serious discussion channel. You can still usually ask there if it's dead discussion-wise, but I still think it's a good idea to have and would be better than the channels no one uses like #i_like_books or #movies_series_videos.
