Reason for complaint:

I got caught up in a few things that forced me to put this on the back-burner so I apologize for posting this so late.

To quickly clarify before I get into the details, I hold no animosity towards anyone in this complaint. However in making the thread, I want to argue two points.

  1. I want to argue against the ruling but more importantly:
  2. I want to ask that, if the admins deem Yonnimers judgement as fair, the note be moved to my account and removed from Snakebitten’s account.

I wondered for a while if I should post this but the main reason I want to more lies in taking responsibility for the note itself. I was the one who made the suggestion to use the crusher and I was the one to activate it.

The round was with Rasune Ki’hata as a vampire and they did a fantastic job as an antag with building up their actions throughout the round. I was Z.I.Brandon during the round and I cannot recall if I saw Ki’hata spirit themselves away earlier in the round but there was an earlier instance where we were struggling to chase them down after they took I Engineer (or Engineering Apprentice) hostage ,possibly thralling said engineer. However much later on in the shift, while processing someone else, Z.I.Asbetos arrived at security with Ki’hata in cuffs. Someone from medical then arrived and remarked on how Ki’hata needed treatment. As such, Asbetos and I moved to medical with Ki’hata. While receiving treatment, Ki’hata eventually spirited themselves away, leading us onto another chase.

In chasing down Ki’hata and eventually finding them at the bottom bar maintenance tunnel, a fight ensued that moved to disposals. What follows is what pertains to the note. From here, Asbetos walk-shoved Ki’hata onto the crusher floor and both of us dropped tear gas grenades onto the lower level. After the cloud cleared we went down the ladder but Ki'hata was still fighting. However once we had her in cuffs (I don’t know what condition she was in), the transfer shuttle had just left the station or was about to. As such we really only had a few minutes left of the round.

With Brandon, I try to play him as being constantly reminded of his legal fragility with Zavodskoi Interstellar and that failure isn’t tolerated. Using this, in addition to the constant (what Brandon would deem) failings we had as Security in securing Ki’hata, when Z.I.Asbetos asked something along the lines of “But what do we do?” I had Brandon look at and suggest the crusher, remarking on how “No one needs to know.”

I don’t know if this holds up but part of my thought process was that it was minutes to round end, and it gave me an opportunity to potentially play up questionable morality with Brandon. Moreover, I asked the vampire (I hate the phrasing I used however) in looc if it was cool that we kill them now or something of that vein. They said to go for it, or that it was cool, and so I had hoped that by having the player’s consent, it meant on an admin/mod side it was fine. If they had said no, I wouldn’t have used the crusher.

Once it came time to use the crusher, the round hit it’s end prompt ‘A round of Vampire has ended’ and I started the crusher.

I had no idea about these augment nulling injections that are mentioned in Snakebitten’s ticket either. Personally, I would rather avoid ever pacifying a character with soporific as well as I feel it just isn’t fun for the player involved but that's just my opinion.

However, because I had the idea and activated the crusher, if the ruling on Yonnimer’s part was deemed fine, I would like to ask that it’s added to my account and removed from Snakebitten’s.

I understand with further thought that my idea to essentially crush the antagonist as a nonantag is a bit questionable however. I think ultimately my reasoning may have felt a bit more justified in the moment as a means to close the round and the ‘story’ in a sense.

Additional remarks: Sorry for the long read.

There was, essentially, nothing we could do. I feel like the turning point in decision making was Rasuna being, well. A demigod that can turn into a ghost through means we have never seen before. They were able to phase through multiple reinforced steel bulkheads effortlessly, and ICly I would have no idea how limited this ability is. We had already exhausted ourselves and slowly degraded our bodies over the course of trying over, and over, and over to fight/contain them. There is no reason I would assume either a bullet to the head or soporific would even work for a long amount of time, when they've already demonstrated insane regenerative abilities and had been barely inconvenienced all around. Yonnimer had brought up the anti-augment implant in the ticket log, but.
1) I had no idea that was in there because it's in the left side of the armory, a veritable twilight zone where there's basically everything.
2) It affects /mechanical augments/, it doesn't rewrite genetic code or nullify seemingly supernatural powers.
But most importantly as Nienna said we indeed asked them if it was okay, so that we didn't ruin their round. Putting them to sleep for 50 minutes would've definitely ruined it.

This note does not really make sense to me. You cant use a mechanical augment against magic powers. Especially when the vampire is thralling crew and turning into a spooky ghost to escape confinement.
