Trinvo
BYOND Key: TrinvoCharacter Names: Garry Nikkelson, Graham Magnusson, Harry DanklburgSpecies you are applying to play: IPCWhat color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/AHave you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes.Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Starting with easiest parts, It look, mechanics and knowledge, IPCs are eguipped with positronic brains which mimic human emotions and feelings since they're machines, It also explains it's name "Integrated Positronic Chassis" (It also doesn't apply to stationbound synthetics such as cyborgs, robots and androids). IPCs are mostly foudn in three forms which include: Shell, Industrial and Baseline (it also depends on designer how they're going to look like). Shells are IPCs designed to look like humans, Their outer "shell" is humanlike, making almost no difference than normal skin. Though, their nature speaks for itself and mostly it makes it easier to distinguish a shell from a human. Industrial IPCs are built for heavy work such as engineering and construction, Then come baseline IPCs which are built for basic work. Of course, That's not all, IPCs are also able to gain freedom and citizenship at Tau Ceti. IPCs can be owned or free, it depends on their creators choice.Character Name: CORK-13Please provide a short backstory for this character: CORK-13's bishop accessory frame has been built in 2452 and eguipped with a positronic brain a week later at the Oran, Eridani Federation territory, Previously serving as physician in local hospital under Bishop Cybernetics name. CORK-13 has been working at said hospital for nine years, later shipped off to The NSS Aurora after being sold off as a medical unit by head physician. Upon being asked by Roboticists on Aurora, CORK-13 has not given any specific answers, though CORK-13 has shown interest in working with NanoTrasen and has supported the idea of being sold off, adding onto this, CORK-13 has been motivated to assist people on the station. When asked why CORK-13 wanted to be sold off to the NanoTrasen, he answered, quoting "I thought this would be a good chance to help as many humanoids and assist as much as I can, It is a big achievement. I was told that NSS Aurora required more personnel and they were interested in owning another one of my kind since they were lacking IPCs at that current moment, so head physician decided to ask me if I could work there, I have agreed on this." CORK-13 was already positive to being sold off but also supported the idea of it, CORK-13 has been sold off to the NanoTrasen for 600,000 credits. CORK-13 has been asked once again about showing interest about working with NanoTrasen and has finally gave an answer. He's looking forward to working on the station as it's in his own words "better place for specimens", CORK-13 has shown interest in examining human body, more than normal and even has shown satisfaction in working in it. CORK-13 has been reprogrammed onto surgeon variant since there was a lack of them on the Oran. CORK-13 has decided on his own to be reprogrammed and quickly got the files that he required installed onto the harddrive. After being shipped to the Aurora. CORK-13 has been shown around the station and shown his new workplace, CORK-13 was sent onto a calibration to the roboticist and later that day started working as a surgeon. CORK-13 has been in a good shape from that day on and continues to perform his duty. What do you like about this character? Well, Since Barnabey was a false shot, I've decided to go with something that I actually want to learn and play, Medical. I did chose to make an IPC character to learn better ways of roleplaying. I did notice that players who play as Skrells, IPCs, etc. know how to roleplay better. This is basically my motivation to make this application, It's for my knowledge and skills shown in game. Tailson
Hi Trinvo, thanks for reapplying! It's a very strong application this time and I'm happy with what I'm seeing. I would be remiss if I didn't ask a question or two, though, so here we go. CORK-13 seemed happy about being sold and clearly had a very close working relationship with the chief medical officer at their Oran facility. Could you go more into the reasons CORK-13 was so eager to be sold? You mentioned it being a 'better place for specimens', could you elaborate on this? Also, touching on the apparent lack of desire to be a truly free IPC and instead seeming content to be owned by a corporation would be great. All in all, it's a very good app. I think dropping the IRU prefix and all of the requirements that comes with that has done wonders for your creative freedom here. Link to comment
Trinvo
Alright, Starting off with "better place for specimens", I've meant that CORK-13 was interested in structual build of the humans and other species and wanted to continue on understanding it. Pretty much I can only say this since that's what I originally had in mind. I understand that this isn't 100% great application but I hope it works. Edited November 4, 2020 by Trinvo Link to comment

CORK-13 was so far working with not so many things, working for NT on a private station would be more interesting than working in a normal hospital, CORK-13 also wanted to change their surroundings after these 9 years, improving something in his "life." 19 hours ago, Tailson said: Also, touching on the apparent lack of desire to be a truly free IPC and instead seeming content to be owned by a corporation would be great. I've looked more into this question and figured out with some help, I've meant to write here that CORK-13 is positive to staying in chassis with Bishops Cybernetics as he's satisfied with amount of data and satisfying work. CORK-13 has decided to stay since it's not required in his own opinion, He has enough freedom to work with, only making him more determinted to stay like this. StationCrab
Hello! I really like the idea of CORK-13, it sounds like an interesting IPC. I've also enjoyed playing with you in medical, you seem eager to learn and you remind me a lot of myself when I was first applying for white lists here. I do have one question. What is it that made you pick this chassis for CORK-13, as opposed to other models? Was it for OOC reasons or was it a certain feature of the Bishop Accessory Module that appealed to you for the character? Link to comment

I've wanted to head for a corporation that's making models of medical variants, Bishops Cybernetics and Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals were the only ones I could find information about (I couldn't find any information about Hephaestus Industries or Idris Incorporated, Eintein Engines mostly make shells which aren't even related to medical gameplay and Zavodskoi Interstellar which is taking care of weaponry, Not even mentioned to make any IPCs, once again, leaving us with Bishops Cybernetics and Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals.) niennab
Although a simple backstory, the team believes that you have an understanding of IPCs and the desire to learn. Accepted. Keep in mind that an IPC doesn't necessarily learn on the job as a human would. This is due to the idea of them being manufactured for a purpose or having databases for that purpose. And so you'll need an excuse if you're still trying to learn medical while in the role. It still can be done however. The excuse usually that the character is adapting to the new place of work or still familiarizing themselves with the role. Link to comment
