Camellia Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Faction & Cultural Norms Describe this proposal in a single sentence (12 word maximum): Give people a brief overview of a nation state through song. Expand on Partisan organizations that weren't straight up armies. How will this be reflected on-station? It is through music that has served as a unifying voice throughout most societies and with that in mind, having songs that Tajara can speak would serve to provide passive and memorable moments. I for one, a long time ago, was once on a 40K RP and we started to chant one of the songs in the Imperial Guard handbook which added to a funeral we were giving to a beloved characters. The DSR was written to provide one thing for the playerbase; Characters who were partisans but didn't directly serve in the war as to avoid the whole grizzled war veteran trope people might find themselves unable to avoid due to a direct lack of subtleness partisan organizations. Does this faction/etc do anything not achieved by what already exists? I've seen no mention of anthems or any description of them on the wiki, as well as any other partisan organizationsWhy should this be given to lore developers rather than remain player created lore? it is my opinion that lore should generally serve the server next to game mechanics though I recognize that Coalf, Alb and Canon have differing visions on things and with that in mind, having lore devs who've done this longer than I be able to change/modify something as a national anthem would add wonders to Tajara lore for people trying to narrow down the national feel of the nations on Adhomai. The above can be said about the DSR, for reasons I outlined in the "reflected on-station" bit.Do you understand that if this is submitted, you are signing it away to the lore team, and that it's possible that it will change over time in ways that you may not forsee?: Sure.Long Description: Quote Daughters and Sons of Raskara "For too long have the people of Adhomai been met with chaos and war." "We solve that conundrum today, my friends, my comrades." - Penitent, translated speech, delivered to a crowd of workers. Founded roughly in the mid 2420s, the Daughters and Sons of Raskara is an organization dedicated to freeing the people of Adhomai against their oppressors. Fully believing in the mantra of "No Gods, No Masters," the organization has enjoyed considerable success in absorbing in subversive elements that the royalty had been wanting to cleanse from their kingdoms. Members of the organization are described as terrifying pirates and cultists that remain in the shadows. Headed by an elusive figure known only as Penitent, Penitent has decried a personal crusade against all tyrants via the use of propaganda. The first report of the so called Penitent comes from a siege in the Rasn'rr area where bread baskets were airdropped by a mysterious set of jets following the destruction of local anti-air batteries. On the breadbaskets, there was a note that would read as followed; "In a world without royalty, in a world without tyrants, there will never be a family without bread. Repent and offer your soul for the glory of Adhomai and you will be granted the grace of equality." And so, the hungry, the disenfranchised, all became partisans that very moment and rouse up against their oppressors, the city falling only weeks later. In the aftermath of the first revolt, the activity of the DSR has been muted at most. No activity has been taken against the organization up until the second revolt where immediately the DSR made a number of moves during 50s and onwards. Reports would come in that pirates bearing a sigil of Raskara were raiding PRA and NKA vessels, screaming; "Glory to Penitent! Rejoice for you repent today for your crimes against Adhomai!" The raids were successful and the Royal Navy and Republican Navy found only some success when tracking down and entrapping these criminals. Sometime during the first revolution, botanists within the DSR had managed to cultivate a recreational plant that saw use throughout the coastal territories of the revolutionary front and royalist front. This plant was given the name Penitents Grace, named after the elusive leader of the organization. The plant was distributed to the needy to provide a degree of comfort for those in trying times. The plant itself appears to resemble the earther dandelion with the stems of the plant being grounded up and juiced while the petals of the plant were served on dishes to provide a sweet taste to a meal. As of 2460 and onwards, the organization has continued to support the ALA behind the scenes through the delivery of pro ALA propaganda and other acts of demoralization ranging from subtle subterfuge to further (though minor) raids along the coasts. The organization maintains the sigil of Raskara devouring Adhomai. Quote Al'mariist Hymn of the Republic ____ And because he is a Al'marist, a Al'mariist would like some to eat, he wants no Khur’miurr Raharr, only something; That gives something for them to eat! Onwards! So go on! Two, three! So go on! Two, three! So go on! Two, three! To the work we must go! March in the snow! For you are a follower of Al'mari too! Onwards! So go on! Two, three! So go on! Two, three! So go on! Two, three! And just because they are a Al'mari, they do not like a pistol to the head. They want no servants, and no overseer over their head Onwards! So go on! Two, three! So go on! Two, three! So go on! Two, three! To the work we must go! March in the snow! For you are a Al'mariist too! The above was inspired by It was created and made simplified so that workers in factories could sing and chant it without any practice against the NSDAP (yes, that one), something that has always reminded me of the ALA in a way. For descriptions sake, I'll say it goes this way, "Simple song by those revolting against the Hadiists in the first days of the revolution, brass instruments and drums are often heard playing in coordination with the verses. Quote Hymn of the Kingdom ___ From Olska, the masterful library, from Baltor, the great watchmakers of old, as mighty as rolling thunder, Into battle, the riflemen march, as mighty as rolling thunder, Into battle, the riflemen march, Were they made rough. ... Furious winds, So did the ruthless storms reign on Adhomai, furious winds, they were made strong, So did the ruthless storms reign on Adhomai, they were made strong, ... No exhaustion, no fear! They shall stand up for you! To the waves of the Ras'val Sea! They'll send their greetings! To the waves of the Ras'val Sea! ... Remember the terror! Remember the dark times! An ode to old glory, an ode to new found glory! Suns will defend, the prestige of their kind! ... The Kingdom is bound to rise! Blazed by the suns! And this song will be heard, to the city of Nal'tor! The above has been inspired by the translated version of this song; The above song is described as follow; Battle Hymn often sung by royalist forces heading into battle to raise morale. It mentions a number of locations ranging from Olska to the Ras'Val sea. Quote Youth of the Republic ___ The flag is moving in the morning sky, with our first step as important as the winds, do you hear the winds, rustling again? the winds of mighty attacks! --- And our march is going on again! and the heart is uneasy in our chest, And the Republic is young again! And the youth of Hadii are young again! Now our march is going on again! And the Republic is young again! And the youth of Hadii are young again! --- Don't wait on mercies from the Sun! Don't spare your life for truth! In this life, comrades, We have our own truth! --- There is heat and snow on this world, The world is young and rich, The youth of Hadii is with us! Onwards! --- The above is obviously inspired by "And The Battle Is Going Again" and was written as a means to reinvigorate the old times of the Soviet Union under Lenin, something I feel correlates with the current PRA. Description wise, you could say its a song about, again, reviving the youth, mainly sung by more old Tajara folk to instill a degree of nationalist zeal in the youth within the PRA. ------------- This is it honestly, I'll probably post more later.
Camellia Posted January 8, 2021 Author Posted January 8, 2021 Also, the Njarir worship sects, I haven't forgotten them, they'll be posted on a separate page given how critical it is to early Tajara lore.
Bear Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Music is something integral Tajara, something often forgotten as that most Tajara have at least some basic singing training from their primary schooling. Not only are these thematic, but very fitting the setting. I would love to see more development on this front, and these are a good start. Fat +1.
Alberyk Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 We talked about this application and came to the following decision: -we are not accepting the Daughters and Sons of Raskara part. We believe that the cult should not have any kind of leader. -we will integrate the hymns part and we will work towards adding it to their relevant pages.

I relayed my ideas to Coalf as well as my original intent if you wanted to hear it.

Alberyk Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 The national anthem part was added to the wiki. We have decided against adding the Daughters and Sons of Raskara for a couple of reason: -we already have enough religious factions at the moment -the team is unsure how we can really use it as a faction in the lore Feel free to contact me if you have more doubts in regards to it
